When I was able to have one of their workers come over they were pretty nice and chill. However as they worked on my insulation I found out that one of the workers had kicked my dog around the stomach! Do not work with these people! They may seem nice at first but they only want your money they do not care!
Very satisfied customer of Martin's insulation work to improve a 1970's era home that had minimal attic and crawlspace insulation. Diana was the first point of contact and quickly scheduled a site visit by Petro. Petro conducted a very thorough site visit and explained his recommendations. Diana developed the quote and promptly answered any questions. The installation team of Luis and Wilmer completed a five-star professional installation. Luis and Wilmer also provided a spotless cleanup and also showed impressive driving skills maneuvering their large truck within a rather tight and sharply curved driveway. Many thanks to Diana, Petro, Luis and Wilmer. Beginning the day after the work was completed, our energy usage dropped significantly even though the weather conditions hadn't changed.
We were very disappointed with Martin's. The management was very difficult to communicate with, missed one appointment and was careless about rescheduling, and installed the wrong insulation. It is a bit of a long story, but I'll retell in case it is useful to others. We had Martin's clean out a crawl space prior to re-piping. They inspected the crawl space as part of the bid process and we accepted the bid. We had a plumber scheduled 10 days after they were were scheduled to complete the job. When they came out, they cleaned one half the crawl space and said there was not adequate clearance to access the other side. I called, texted emailed and they never got back to me. Finally I called the plumber, who contacted them and we came to an understanding that I would install a new access. Because there were only a few days, I paid a premium for a contractor to do this. It was likely a useful improvement but I probably paid double (and they had the opportunity to identify their concern at the bid). The plumber later said there was adequate clearance for them. Hugo (owner) told me that we should install R25, that because the joists were only 6 inch that this was all that would fit and the R30 were 8 inches and would hang down (a problem for proper installation). I sent a reminder to them the Friday before Monday installation confirming the schedule and the R25 installation. Monday morning my tenant called me to say the installers had unloaded R30. I immediately called Diana and let her know they had the wrong insulation. She was aware (but had not told us). She told me that they would trim it to fit and it would not hang down below the joists. They did not trim. It does hang down. I called Diana, she said that they installed it correctly and nothing hung down. I had a trouble light and went into the crawl and saw the installation. I wanted to talk to Hugo to see what he could tell me but after emails, phone calls and texts, I've had no further reply. If you use Martin's double check their work!
