Ordered from 84 Lumber in Newport News. Sent in roof dimensions and they sent a list of what was needed. Simple math told me that it wasn’t enough so I upped the order. I was short like 3 trim pieces. 84 lumber called and ordered the pieces that Marco Metals said that I was missing. Then they sent me the pieces I was missing and they sent the wrong ridge cap! HOW HARD IS IT! A job that should have taken 2-3 days has taken over 2 months because of the incompetence!
And of course everyone blames the other person!

So glad to have found Marco Metals in our search for metal roofing for our porch roof. Jonathan was great to work with- knowledge, kind, and helpful. The turn around time was quick, and the panels were easy to install. We went with the 5-v crimp panels in antique bronze, with a drip edge, narrow rake, and color matched screws. Originally we thought we’d get metal panels from a big box store, but couldn’t find what we wanted. Marco Metals had exactly what we hoped for, at great prices, with great customer service to go with it. We’ll be back for more when we get to our other porch roofing projects!

I have used Marco Metals for all of my cabin builds. These guys are the best. Metal roofing is metal roofing, it’s their service that makes them great. Working with these guys is like being served homemade chicken noodle soup from your mother on a day that you stayed home sick from school in the middle of February. I wish every business that I dealt with was this good.

They're terrible... They screwed up the panels we ordered TWICE-don't waste your time with them.... Order from Beacon.

Edit: I added pictures of the original and replacement panels for comparison.

EDIT in response as to the owner's comment: The installation of the product has nothing to do with how your location cuts the panels. I've installed metal on purlin's since 1996 and NEVER had an issue except for this.

I'd suggest communicating to the customer instead of blaming them; that your shop uses post-cut roll forming machines versus pre-cut so they're not surprised as to the end product.

These guys are great, we have done multiple high dollar projects with them and they have always come through for us. Nice to support a local business. Thanks

I have been looking for sheets of metal to cover milled lumber and wood slabs while it waits to go into my kiln for my business. Heard of Marco Metals from a freind, swung down one day with my truck and trailer and they loaded so great "cover sheets" that had a small paint plemish. Great Price, loaded it on the trailer and fantastic people. I will be going back over and over!

They would sell locally (to Harrisonburg neighbors) but won't sell to Contractors elsewhere, even if you are willing to pick up the materials from them. Protecting their BIG box accounts is more important to them. They would rather lose a sale. Why would they have their business listed with a web presence and all? Preposterous.

UPDATE TO OWNER RESPONSE: YOU LOST MY BUSINESS.
I feel discriminated because that's exactly what you are doing. You are choosing not to sell to me. You don't know if I live next door or I'm driving 500 miles to get your products. When I go to a lumber yard to buy materials I don't have to show my ID. Your company policies are pointless and that shows. I stand by my review and good luck. You are not the only metal roofing reseller. Besides, that 30 miles sham is not disclosed anywhere and you never mentioned that on the phone.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
