Michael and Main Street Home Improvement did a fantastic job with our Home Improvement project. We had several contractors bid on the project but Michael really spent a lot of time listening to what we wanted and then came back with a better price and very insightful plans not just in the beginning but throughout the project. He was extremely easy to work with, returned or calls and texts quickly if we had questions or concerns, and the finished product looks fantastic. The crew had great attention to detail, they finished the project on time and actually under budget so we were able to complete a few extra improvements. Highly recommend Michael and Main Street Home Improvement!

Mike did a great job rebuilding our deck and patio. Mike's crew demolished our old patio and created a larger patio and walkway. He created a rock drain that works well and looks great. Mike came up with some creative solutions to make everything work around our older house. Mike's crew also handled repointing some bricks and fixed some broken bricks in a garden wall.
Mike's price was lower than the other bids, and he was able to work around our schedule.
Mike's crew was even able to quickly rebuild our backyard gate so we didn't have to worry about our dogs getting out. Kudos to Mike and his crew.

Mike and his crew built a beautiful front deck and walkway. And another time, when I needed a repair to my antique brick, Mike found the perfect brick and mortar match and made the repair perfectly.

Mike came in and together we created our future vision for our house. He didn’t try to tell us what to do and helped us stay within budget. The end result was elegant and functional. He was neither the least expensive or most expensive. His team also fixed safety and functional defects left by the original builder. I would highly recommend him for those looking for a unique look and livable space.

Mike and the Main Street team are fantastic!! When an unexpected problem caused an urgent need to get the roof of our carport fixed, Mike was quick to respond and worked to get this resolved immediately when other companies would have taken months to address the issue. It was great to work with a locally based company, who provided great work, and personlized service, at a reasonable rate. We have Mike and his team scheduled to work on our outdoor deck and future remodling projects throughout the house.

If you would like a company that the owner will come out to give you an estimate then not see the him again I would highly recommend them. Also if you want a company that will send people that are not qualified to do the work properly I would highly recommend!!! If you want to hire a company that will do more damage to your house than they fix, I would highly recommend. If you want someone that will make promises to fix the things that were destroyed after he sent unqualified individuals to your house, I highly recommend them. If you want to have to show your contract multiple times to remind the owner what it says that he promised to do, I would highly recommend them. All of that aside I would not hire this company to pick up red cigarette butts in a white parking lot because I wouldn’t want to have to point out everyone they missed!!! Unfortunately I was ripped off by Mike and I hope this review stops anyone else from getting ripped off too. It is also unfortunate that I can’t give less than 1 star!!!!

Mike completed a project for us in December. After the work was completed, there were a few flaws that needed repair which were brought to Mike’s attention. I could not get Mike to return to complete the repairs. He installed a new screen door but left off a part. I personally had to get the missing part and had to hire someone to complete the repairs. He needs improvement in his customer service skills, especially with putting an effort into making a wrong right and how to deal with a customer’s concerns and frustrations.

Several issues came up after the project was "completed". Mike claimed I have a several year warrantee. I have been waiting months for Mike or his contracted workers to come and make repairs with no result. I would not recommend based on failure to fix issues. I have now had to hire other contractor to make repairs. Very disappointed.

We had some exterior stone decking rebuilt and had some new interior flooring put down with additional interior painting. They did great work and were very responsive to requests and changes. Will use again and I definitely would recommend for interior and exterior work around the house.

I hired Main Street to refinish a brick patio and planters. Mike quickly came over when he said he would, gave me an estimate that sounded reasonable, and soon started work. Everything was done perfectly, from the repair to the cleanup, on time and on budget, no surprises at all. I believe the job Mike did was instrumental in our selling the house in less than three days. Before, the patio was a mess. After, it was a selling point. I recommend considering Main Street for all types of home projects.

In the Fall of 2019, Mike's crew did several projects for us. We had an emergency need of flooding in our downstairs. We had called several contractors but they did not work with us on price or time. Mike responded and immediately scheduled and gave us a price and introduced to the gentleman who would be working. He explained what was needed and warranted the work. We also had him work on the chimney which was damaged from the earthquake and also a price to bring our deck unto current code. The work was prioritized and completed. We have gotten complements on the work completed and would highly recommend Mike and his crew to all in the future. After the pandemic clears, we have additional projects that we will us Mike and his crew in the future.

The price was extremely competitive, the quality of the work is superb and the crew was very professional. Our deck flooring was replaced with Trex and we cannot be more pleased. We fully recommend this company.

Mike has done many jobs for us. He has built stone walls and landscaped our backyard. He totally gutted and redid our basement including a wet bar, TV area,
full bath and bedroom. He replaced our gutters and installed a new PRO VIA front door. His company does great work, the price is very good, and finishes on time. I highly recommend him

I was doing a countertop replacement in my home and needed a reliable contractor to come out and tear the old counters out, install a new sink, and replace a gas cooktop. It wasn't a huge job but it required 3-4 separate visits and I was worried about finding somebody who would do it. Mike and his team came through for me and my family on this one and I'm now enjoying a new kitchen. I wholly recommend Mike and his team at Main Street. A great all-around experience.

Been living in my current home in Vienna for over 7 years now and just discovered Mainstreet a few weeks ago. Wish I had known about them before. Michael is professional and honest, the two most important things in my book when it comes to contractors. He helped me with one project on very short notice and I can honestly say, of all the contractors I've dealt with throughout the years, his shop is at the top of the list. There'a another crew that I like a lot, but they cost much more and are slower to respond. For my next project, I'll definitely be hitting Mike up again.

Main Street Home Improvement has been a very much welcomed partner in our home for many years. From our first improvement project of installing vinyl siding over the wood portions of our house’s exterior in 1997, to the installation of a new front storm door in 2013, Mike of Main Street, and his crew, have ensured that the work was first rate quality, long lasting, and fully met our desires. Other maintenance/improvements completed by Main Street on our home in Annandale consisted of the additional following items: Replacement of roof, gutters and downspouts; installation of thermo-pane vinyl windows; replacement of back porch screening; and replacement of the rear sliding glass doors. Mike always listened to what we wanted and would make substantial recommendations on excellent products. At one time, Mike helped us select a very attractive storm door, which my spouse had been looking for a very long while. We have always been very satisfied with the great quality of both product and work that Main Street provides and highly recommend them for any home improvement.

Mike and his team did a wonderful job on our backyard in Fairfax City. He opened up our back porch, screened it in from ceiling to floor, added power and finished it very nicely. Mike also designed a beautiful wooden deck around our 200+ year old tree just off of the porch, finished with accent lighting and benching. The pinnacle of his work, though, was the adjacent stone patio he designed and built. We were amazed by the richness that became our yard when he completed the project. The price was reasonable and the work was top notch. Mike had many ideas for other parts of our yard, he works with great enthusiasm.

Mike and his team did a great job replacing the roof over our screened porch. He gave us a variety of options for handling the drainage issues that we were experiencing, and took cost, future maintenance and design into account when providing approaches and making recommendations. He was very helpful and patient in addressing our concerns. In addition to this project, he also repaired our screened porch and toolshed. He was conscientious about the job and the cost. We believe that Mike and his team do an excellent job at a reasonable price.

Mike Kayne of Main Street Home Improvement built a wrap-around deck of approximately 275 square feet across the rear of my house in 2013. He helped me refine my initial design into a two-level deck with 45-degree angled corners and two sets of stairs. Despite a few unforeseen glitches, Mike and his carpenter solved the problems and performed the work quickly and conscientiously. I am very pleased with the deck, which is a great improvement to my home.

I have used Main Street Home Improvement for everything from a complete roof and gutter replacement to new windows, interior painting, new soffits, new siding on a tool shed, an outdoor gazebo and a new kitchen island. I'll be calling Mike when I am ready to do a complete perimeter fencing replacement. Main Street is my go-to home contractor.

Mike did a great job on our home's siding & installing a bay window about ten years ago. Last summer, he replaced our walkway and installed a railing on our front steps. We couldn't be happier. He's local & approachable with great ideas.

I have used Main Street Home Improvement for several home maintenance tasks. I have found them to be honest. They do their work right the first time. I have had them replace a carport exterior wall, I have had them replace large and small windows; I have had them cover exterior wood surfaces with material that will never have to be painted again. For home maintenance work, I can count on Main Street Home Improvement to show up, do the work expediently and correctly without worry at a price that cannot be beat.

For a quality job at a reasonable price we highly recommend Main Street Home Improvement Company located in Vienna, Virginia. From the sales representative to the onsite hands-on work personnel, the total workforce was competent, professional and very personable. All aspects of the contracted job which involved our front main outside entrance, and both the front and side walkways were completed at the estimated price and finished on the agreed upon time frame. The slate design for the walkways was mutually designed by the company representative and us. They were instrumental in ensuring that we understood the square footage and dimensions in which the walkways were to be laid out. Each of the slate pieces was individually selected at the quarry by both parties. The patience exhibited by the company representative during this initial phase was outstanding. Delivery of the material from the quarry was timely and the slate pallets were placed in our yard at the location we desired. After each work day, the job site was cleaned up with tools covered so that the ongoing effort did not detract from the overall appearance of our yard. We are thoroughly pleased with the superb results and our entire experience working with Main Street Home Improvement Company.

I selected Main Street Home Improvement after getting estimates from 3 of the "big guys". He came up with creative solutions to repairs and replacements of windows and doors for the very best price. We had windows replaced and repaired, two sets of exterior french doors installed on the second floor (a precarious location without a deck), and some gutters replaced. One year later, I'm satisfied with the materials, quality of work and especially the price.
