Marco came to our house to evaluate roof leaks on the day he was initially called. An estimate was prepared and job planned but weather concerns delayed the start of the repair job. Communication were handled well and in a timely fashion up to and including the day of the repair. The work was done in a professional manner to our satisfaction.

Wow, I was blown away by the service and professionalism of these guys! They were super dedicated to making sure the job was done right from the start. When I called for a roof repair, they were right there to help me out. While other contractors were taking days or even weeks to even look at my needs, these guys were on it right away. I got five quotes, and Louisiana Pro Roofing won the bid even though their quote was in the middle of the pack. Here are a couple of reasons why I went with them anyway.

First, they gave me a quote without finding out whether I was going to make an insurance claim or not. I’m not sure, but I think many roofers will try to convince you to make an insurance claim before they give you a quote so that, I believe, they can jack up the price. After all, you won’t be paying it, but I find these roofers to be corrupt, and I’m convinced that they are the reason why all of us in Louisiana are paying higher premiums. I refuse to support these businesses.

Secondly, and most importantly, Louisiana Pro Roofers offered the best materials and the best warranty. A different roofer I used last year used builder’s grade (the cheapest) shingles with a 30 year warranty. Louisiana Pro used GAF Timberline HDZ shingles with a 50 year warranty.

Also, the other roofers that bid on the job said that they would replace the rot in my tongue and groove decking with OSB plywood. One of them charged $100 per sheet. A different one recommended that I redeck my whole roof with OSB. I could not take these roofers seriously because I felt that they were insulting my intelligence.

Louisiana Pro Roofing told me from the outset that they would replace all of my rot with tongue and groove planks, and they acknowledged that the original decking was still in great shape. They ended up doing minimal repairs with no plywood which is what I wanted.

As for the two bids that came in cheaper, one of them did not include replacing the drip edge which would have put their bid higher than Louisiana Pro, the other’s price was so much less that it seemed too good to be true. It was a real outlier. I just couldn’t trust them. They were from out of town, and they gave a lesser warranty anyway.

In the end, I took off the day that Louisiana Pro did the replacement to supervise, which I recommend, and they had no issue with me walking around the roof and pointing to all of the spots I needed repaired. They were clean, polite, and efficient. There were no hidden costs, and Marco, the owner, is incredibly respectful and charming. If you want quality work for a fair price, I highly recommend Louisiana Pro Roofing.

This company far exceeded all my expectations. The owner, Marco, had very good taste in helping me choose the right roofing material AND the right color (which is just as important). (never hire a roofing company solely on price, look at the brands of materials, who his work force is and the owner's knowledge of his trade.)

Seems to be getting harder and harder to find repair men like this, ones that will answer your call, give you an honest quote, show up as scheduled, and actually answer your questions. These guys impressed me with their professionalism and service. I would definitely use them again.
