I did a lot of research before I found Longview Chimney. I have had some not so good experiences with other building contractors over the past few years. So I was very careful this time. From the start, Cliff has shown himself to be an honest, fair, and completely dependable person! He met with me to discuss the job, explained the contract, how project would proceed and so on. Throughout the work, he kept in touch with updates and photos. I could not be more pleased with Cliff and his entire crew and the wonderful job they did for me! So happy!

A random incident led to one brick-encased pillar out of four needing to be replaced. Cliff doggedly tracked down brick that was pretty close to original but then went the extra mile, dyeing the bricks so they looked as close as possible to the original brick! Very communicative and fair, quality of work is excellent. Thanks Cliff!

I contacted Longview Chimney for a chimney liner install after multiple contractors and others had failed. I was seriously beginning to believe that I would not be able to have a wood stove and that I had wasted a lot of money on the purchase of the stove, the liner and stove piping.

This was a complicated conversion from a LP gas stove to a corner installation of a wood burning stove in a 100-year-old house with a non-standard masonry chimney. Cliff did due diligence by contacting the county to ensure that the liner install would meet all safety standards and county codes. The work involved cutting through existing interior masonry, expansion of the wall thimble to accommodate larger stove piping, adding multiple layers of insulation from combustibles and the rebuilding of the chimney top and adding a cap. Cliff and his team of employees are all seasoned veterans of the industry. They bring to the table over 30 years of knowledge and experience to ensure a job well done. When the final inspection was completed, the inspector commented that the installation exceeded requirements.

This is the company you want to hire for your chimney cleaning, masonry repairs and liner installs. They go above and beyond, pricing is reasonable, and you can rest assured that the job will be done right

Thanks to Cliff, Randy and Doug.

Cliff and Doug of Longview Chimney Cleaning & Repair did a terrific job repairing our chimney. Our cinder block chimney above the roofline started shedding fragments after the last rain-snow-freeze-thaw cycles of the past winter. Cliff gave me a bid with a detailed step-by-step outline of their proposed work that included wrapping the damaged chimney with wire mesh, applying a rough coat of stucco/concrete, and then a final finished smooth coat of stucco. The completed chimney looks great, and they documented their step-by-step work with photos! And they will be back in one month to waterproof-seal the entire chimney after the new stucco has fully cured. Thanks guys!

This company did work for us multiple times. We had to remove and replace a woodstove unit that was no longer up to code in our basement. There was extensive work involved in changing it all out and the crew did it with expertise and precision. They had to repair some brick upstairs, due to opening an area of brick wall so they could access and install the stack running up through the second level and out to the roof. The new stove insert was installed and fit wonderfully. They also did some work up top on the chimney and added caps to the existing setup. Eveything looked clean and they were professional in our interactions. We had them come back for some minor work on a second fireplace we had and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat! They offer very reasonable pricing for the work they do. Cliff and his crew are knowledgable, experienced and get the job done. I highly recommend using them for any of your chimney servicing needs!

I had a great experience with these guys, from the ease of getting a bid, through the scheduling and execution of the job. They did a great job completely rebuilding my old chimney above the roof and I've gotten lots of compliments from the neighbors. I'm especially grateful they were able to squeeze me in on short notice. HIGHLY recommended!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
