We have a home with a tile roof and over the years tried several roofers in our area. We LOVE the look of tile - it adds so much character and should, if maintained, last a lifetime. This kind of roof actually makes the house seem more solid and you can’t replace it with anything like the same Old World quality.
So - about repairs: you’d be surprised at how many roofers have no idea of how to repair and replace broken tiles and identify problem areas. We had ‘reputed roofing companies’ who would walk on the tile roof without protecting the surface and cause more damage! We had people who said they were Slate Repair Specialists and just didn't have the skills, experience, or know-how.

Because they have the reputation and are in demand, you might have to wait to have your job done, but it is well worth getting it done right.
