I could not be more pleased with my new three season enclosed porch. I learned of Laurie’s Certified from its celebrated reputation in our area; but I truly did not expect the high quality of workmanship and high quality materials in my finished porch. My new porch is the talk of the neighborhood with many neighbors stopping by to check it out. My porch has truly turned out to be an amazing project. It has already added value and functionality to my home.
I submitted some basic enclosed porch plans to them; but Laurie and Eric took my basic plans and turned them into so much more. They simply know the construction business. Expert design capabilities, vast construction experience and good Vermont common sense are part of this company’s culture and DNA.

My wife and I had never used a construction company before so we shopped around a bit when we were having our two failing decks replaced with patios. Most of the contractors we contacted never returned our calls. Of the two that did respond, Laurie, Eric, and Jade of Laurie’s Certified Construction took the time to go thru each part of the project onsite and came up with some useful suggestions that we hadn’t thought of. The price quoted from Laurie’s was compatible with that of the other company.
Unfortunately, our timing wasn’t great: Covid was rampant, building materials were in short supply with long delivery delays, there was a staff shortage, and scheduling conflicts. This was probably the only minor criticism we might have- the communication during this time wasn’t great. At first, we were informed that work couldn’t start until materials were onsite- so we went and bought pavers delivered to our house. Once we had the materials, staff shortage and scheduling became an issue. We wouldn’t hear anything for weeks unless we’d email or call to get an update. Finally, Laurie volunteered to email us an update on a bi-weekly basis- which greatly helped us schedule the rest of our lives.
Once the work started everything went very well. At this point, Jade had started to handle most of the scheduling and communications with us. She was very good and prompt at answering our questions and keeping us informed on the project. Gary, Zack, and their team tore down the old decks, put in the new patios, replaced some beams, and did some work in the basement. They were great: they understood exactly what our vision was and had some good suggestions\enhancements. They were very knowledgeable and explained each step of the process to us. They worked well together and each day they accomplished at least one of the many steps of the project. They cleaned up well and even threw some grass seed over any areas that their equipment may have hurt the grass.
Another team came in and cut back part of our roof- they worked quickly and pretty much independently. Jade scheduled Matt the electrician to come and rewire some lights and outlets that had been on the decks. Matt had to crawl through a small crawl space to rewire switches inside the house rather than where they had been. He explained what he was going to do and did it well. Finally, Eric came and put the final touches on the roof cutback and filled in some open spaces.
We are extremely happy with the outcome of the work that Laurie’s Certified Construction did for us.
