Lake Country Remodeling

Lake Country remodeling did a complete bathroom remodel for us. Brian did a great job helping us decide what we wanted to do and materials we needed. Tim was great at getting everything ordered and their crew was very friendly and professional. Our bathroom turned out beautiful and exactly what we wanted. We had a very good experience with LCR on a whole house remodel: all new kitchen, baths, plumbing, closets, lighting, flooring, and removing interior walls. We wanted to be more "hands-on" than most customers, selecting and sourcing some fixtures, doing a little work ourselves. They were very easy to work with -- as were we (it's a two-way street!) -- and did everything possible to get the project done so we could move in. Their subcontractors were also friendly and helpful when we engaged with them. I hired out a few jobs myself (wood floor refinishing, duct cleaning, iron filter) and we easily worked out the schedules. With this much custom construction being done on an older home, you mustn't take out a magnifying glass and expect every inch to be perfection. Our home is beautiful, we are proud to show it off. We just had a major remodel of our house done by them and are mostly happy with the results. Once things got hauled out and the insides cleaned up, there always are some minor overlooked items. So, I'm giving them a four star until these little nagging issues are remedied. When all are happy with the job, I will report so and review the rating which I plan to be five happy stars.

The painting involved drywall repair and Don did a wonderful job of repairing some nasty areas. He also went out of his way to repair a patio door that I had bought parts for that day. That was a delightful surprise. The new kitchen cabinets and sink look top notch as does the new ceramic tile backsplash, but there is a minor problem around the built-in microwave and some cabinet trim and caulking which I'm sure will be handled by them. Some doorframe and door jams were not shimmed or aligned quite right, and I believe it was one of the young apprentices that did that work. Some were caught and corrected by the boss. Some others could be a bit better. The new baseboard looks fantastic compared to the old, shapeless molding it replaced. The new paneled doors are solid and a pleasure to look at and use. The simulated wood flooring is solid and fitted nicely. So, putting the little touch-up work that needs to be done aside, we are pretty happy with our new main floor.

Brian was our consultant and a pleasure to do business with and was easy to access. The work crew was skilled and considerate as we lived in our basement while the work was done. I recommend you consider them for your remodeling needs!
