Matt and Lindsay Kraus, the owners of Kraus Remodeling have done an amazing job at my home designing and hanging Christmas lighting! I feel my home will be the talk of the town once I flip the switch in a week or so! They had professional roofers up on the roof, hanging lights, and they’ve strung the lights down both sides of my driveway, and there will be large spritzer light balls hanging from the trees in the front yard. Lindsay and Matt are very professional and courteous and have customer service at the forefront of their business. I contacted Matt and Lindsay's office to restore my master bathroom and downstairs closet after they had been torn up for a plumbing repair. Very happy with the results; besides patching the closest and getting my bathroom in working order, Matt's team also improved the design for both the floor and tub wall. (The tub wall used to be a mess of rectangles, and the floor had an odd asymmetry.) It was a pretty seamless experience; no communication issues at any point.

Matt and Lindsay Kraus were great to work with. My vision of a simple and inexpensive shed design was neither simple or inexpensive to build. Matt spent several days working on a plan. Communication was honest and responsive but a custom shed is more expensive than ready made. Matt recommended a company he used for his own property. He offered advise if I need it.

Kraus Remodeling redid our master bathroom, and we love how it turned out! We live in a little townhome that was built in the 80's, and our master bathroom is small, but Kraus Remodeling helped it look and feel bigger and modern. Matt was very responsive throughout the whole process and made it feel like a very personalized experience. All of the people who worked on the project were helpful and respectful of our time and space. We would definitely have this company back for future projects!

Amazing work touching 50% of the house following a broken toilet flood. Replaced flooring, redid a bath and changed the kitchen layout. Worked well with insurance who often dragged their feet due to the size of the job.

Kraus and crew did a very professional job of updating an original 1980s condo unit that was in desperate need of it. The results were a excellent redesign of a cramped kitchen that opened it up into a spacious, efficient, and attractive modern kitchen. The two bathrooms were completely gutted and redesigned/rebuilt to yield attractive, modern and functional ones, despite the fact that they could only be redesigned within a very restricted floor plan. Finally, high quality modern replacement vinyl windows and a large patio sliding door took the place of original ones the were either impossible or very difficult to open. The improvements were clearly evident in the lower utility bills due to the impressive energy efficiency of the replacement windows and door. The overall cost of renovations were very reasonable and the kept within the original estimate. It was very obvious that he is very knowledgeable of our Burke Cove condo buildings/units and his outstanding work reflects many successful prevoius renovations. Without a doubt, I would definitely use his services again and highly recommend this company for anyone contemplating any condo or home renovation.

I hired Kraus Remodeling to replace the roof on my townhouse. I had an active leak so it needed to be done fast. Matt Kraus, the owner himself, came over the very next day to assess the damage. The Kraus Remolding replaced my gutters last week, the old gutters are something Pulte developed and branded as "Pultrustion" before abandoning it 10 years ago. The gutters are a single molded piece consisting of the fascia board, soffit and gutter. There are not that many contractors can do with these systems and is affordable these days. Mr. Matthew Kraus very knowledgeable, he monitored every part of the process and contacted me several times to be sure that I’m satisfied with the agreement. Their price was fair. The crew removed the old gutters and downspouts and installed the new ones. They did an excellent job and, they were mindful of my deck, yard and gardens. They cleaned around house, driveway thoroughly. Mr. Kraus also did a follow up inspection after the crew completed their work to make sure all was well. If you are looking for an honest, ethical, hard-working, and effective company to work on your gutters. I highly recommend Kraus Remolding.

After a VERY unfortunate flood in my townhome, Kraus Remodeling came to my rescue. Matt went to bat for me with my insurance, going above and beyond to help me get what I needed for the reno. Ended up redoing a full bath, drywall and ceiling repair, a kitchen remodel, and the replacing of almost every piece of flooring. What started as a recovery project morphed into taking advantage of the moment. I am very grateful for the hard work that he and Evers put in. I have now motivated several friends to do similar work on their homes.

Kraus replaced my windows and sliding glass door. The scheduler was wonderful. All staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They were early, wore masks and shoe coverings, and made sure any belongings close to where they moved any belongings that were potentially in their way to a safe space. Installers used drop cloths and vacuumed work areas. They showed me how to operate and had me practice all the possible operations and functions of my new windows and doors. Matthew Kraus called personally later that day to check how it went. Loved the service and intend to use them for any future projects.

I've now had two significant home improvements done by Kraus Remodeling. We couldn't be happier with each experience. Matt and Michelle are local, responsive, knowledgeable, and always show patience with the dozens of questions that come with jobs like these. They even caught a refund I was due that I completely missed so I know they look out for their clients. Their crews have been clean, polite, and they do great work. Matt met with me and we discussed our bathroom remodel needs. It had to be ADA compliant and as so often in these situations needed to be accomplished right away as unfortunately that’s what happens with medical issues. Bathroom tub removed and re-plumbed. Beautiful tile and walk-in shower stall installed with built in seat and hand held and fixed shower head. Also numerous grab bars both in the shower and on either side of the raised ADA compliant commode. All this over the recent holidays. The quality of the work is outstanding and obvious to see. Everything was prompt, timely and I can’t say enough about Matt’s responsiveness regarding any issues that inevitably pop up. I will absolutely use him for future projects.

Kraus Remodeling is the way to go! After talking with Matt Kraus, I knew that I had the right company to do roof work for me due to hail damage. Matt is easy to talk to and explained the process in layman’s terms. I am a happy, satisfied, and devoted customer since he did the work on my house so my insurance company could do an inspection. The roof plus wrapping and tin roof turned out beautiful and the house looks brand new. Due to the great work done by Matt and his crew, I also asked him to work on another project for me. I had just learned that I had two teenage grandsons coming to live with me and they needed their own space. Matt came to the rescue. Matt and his employees worked with me create a recreation area and bathroom downstairs. Each of his great workers took the time to explain to me everything they were doing during the course of the project. Their service and customer relations are untouchable in the industry. Matt and his team did a fantastic job on our roof - we have an old house with log roof timbers and a poor planking job. He came in, removed the old failing roof, and made it right without ruining the historic construction methods originally used. The new metal roof is perfect - it looks great and is well installed and functional. We're very happy with the roof and his craftmanship. He also handled the insurance company very well.

Our metal roof and siding were damage last year during a hail storm. We contacted Matt Kraus based on referrals from several of our neighbors. Matt was very attentive to us, personable and knowledgeable about our roof and siding systems. He has a comprehensive understanding of the insurance replacement process and was patient and diligent in dealing with our insurance company to make sure that all of our damages were fully covered. Matt Kraus was great to work with an his crew took their time and did the job right. While other roofs were going on in under 2 days, his crew took 3 full days and part of a 4th to carefully go over everything and make sure it was done right. He also made sure the insurance company didn't get to skip issues that needed to be corrected.

As much as having major work done is a disruption to your life, it's much better to have it done once correctly, than to have to have it corrected shortly after having it done.

Matt made the process easy and understandable and I will definitely talk to him when I have future renovation needs.

My 23 year old roof did not survive the March high winds and I found shingles a block away. I asked my neighbor who recently had his roof reshingled if he would recommend a contractor. He put me in touch with Matt Kraus who came to inspect the damage. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I signed on with Matt although I had another estimate from a nearby roofing contractor. Matt dealt with my insurance company to include bringing my roof up to code. The roofers were very professional and well-mannered. They did the job in one day, and cleaned up after themselves. I contracted with Kraus Remodeling this Spring when I bought a new home. I wanted a large patio, but didn't want anything builder-grade (plus they charge an arm and a leg). A lot of the estimates I get were really high for what seemed like average work. I'm really glad I went with Matt at KR because he was attentive from the start, and always available when I needed him. The fact that he is a NoVa native helped, since he was really easy to communicate with too. He gave me a comprehensive estimate that I was comfortable with, helped me work with my HOA, and we were able to start the project pretty quickly. The result was far from "average," and I'm so glad I made the right choice. The end result was a gorgeous paver patio, a clean work site, and a very satisfied customer.
