KBS replaced my roof. The process from start to finish working with Dane was seamless. Shane and his crew came and replaced our shingles and gutters and did an awesome job!

5+ stars for communication, honesty, and patience for Dane. We wanted new siding, windows, gutters, and painting done. Going in to this project I had no idea of all the different options in siding. Insulated, not insulated, standard with nothing under it, or do you put fan fold insulation, or foam board under it? We changed different things multiple times trying to see cost for all options. We had contractors that dropped out during the bidding process, but not Dane, he stayed in there the whole time, never wavering on the priority of whatever the customer wants. I believe you’ll receive a top quality finished job with KBS. I highly recommend you give them a shot with any project you have.

They were super to work with. They kept me informed of scheduling and did fantastic work. All of their people were very professional and friendly. We love our new showers!

After our townhome flooded all 3 stories, a restoration company came in, got it cleaned up and made a giant disaster of billing, work, ethics, etc. Honestly, we contacted KBS simply to give the other company an ultimatum to do right or we’d be moving on.
I met Dane at our property within 2 hours of my initial call. He was SO down to earth and instantly felt like a great fit for us. It wasn’t until nearly the end of the project did we know he was the owner. That is how involved he was!
His bid was significantly lower than the others, his timeline was significantly shorter and he NAILED it. The project was finished before the other company ever responded…
I cannot wait to use them for other projects! (Just hopefully at my own will, not because of water!)

Honestly, I equivocated between a 4 and 5 star rating on this one because it was a big job on a 55-year-old house and there were the usual delays and technical setbacks, and an 11% pricing increase in mid project forced by some old-house structural flaws and the magnetic sweep at the end was imperfect, but most of that was not KBS’s fault. Dane and Eric and Miguel’s crew showed remarkable skill and resilience and an indomitable problem-solving attitude throughout. Huge deck area: 50 ft East side, 36 ft North side

KBS were the utmost in professional serices: great communiation; showing up on time; accurate cost quotes, no over charges. This was a relatively small siding job plus paint. Had a hard time finding bidders. They took it on and completed to perfect satisfaction. I highly recommed them. We used LP board n batten siding.

We had our home remodeled and a small addition put on. Everything turned out great and we are very happy with it. When we have work we want done in the future we plan to use KBS again and would recommend them to others.

We had water damage in our home. KBS did a beautiful job of restoring our wooden floors, repairing the kitchen ceiling, and painting. The work looks great! We are happy with the job they did.

We’re very happy with how the updates to our kitchen turned out. After an initial lack of communication, things moved quickly. They painted our kitchen/great room. Installed quartzite countertops, picket fence backsplash, new pulls, light fixture, and stainless steel appliances from Warner’s Stellian. We worked with Zach as our project manager, and co-owner and he was great to work with. Emma, their designer was our first contact after paying our deposit. She moved quickly to help us select options, then nothing for a month. Their pricing seemed reasonable compared to another quote that was more than double, without appliances. We are very pleased. Not five stars due to initial quote not meeting what we had discussed, lack of communication, and Bull in a China shop tiling guys, who tried to do less than great and made a mess.

KBS is absolutely fantastic! I had my laundry room remodeled. All the guys were great and the work is flawless! They were all really meticulous in how they made sure everything was done perfectly. Emma was great to work with on design and made sure the design was just right. Will the painter and Sam the carpenter were so nice - and conscientious. And Zach, one of the owners, came by and checked on the work literally every step of the way. He even had Will come back to correct a tiny little scratch caused by the tile guys that I told him was fine. They did custom cabinets for me and they are beautiful! Very pleased. Great experience!

We were having restoration work done after a pipe exploded in our basement. The short version of the story is after 4 weeks, nothing was done on the remodeling side. Then our build got sent over to KBS. They came in and finished the entire project in less than a week. We could not be happier with not only the speed of the remodel, but also the quality. They have people that are specialized in their portions of the remodel, and they are darn good at what they do. Would recommend to anyone needing a remodel/restoration.

KBS was a wonderful company to work with on my bathroom remodel project. From day 1 to the day of completion, I was always able to communicate with my primary contractor, Zach or Dane, the owner of the company. They kept me in the loop of what was going on and even sent photos when I was out of town to show me the progress.
If any bumps occurred, they were easy to work with and took care of any issues in a timely manner.
I appreciated their commitment to taking care of the parts of the home that were not under construction as well. They made sure to protect walls and flooring and always made sure the tradespeople cleaned up at the end of the day.
I would definitely recommend KBS for your remodeling needs!

KBS was referred by a friend. Upon meeting and choosing them for my bathroom remodel, I was more than satisfied. The work and craftsmanship was excellent. I live in Ankeny, therefore I had many contractors to choose from. I highly recommend KBS for any residential remoldel or update. Had my fireplace converted from gas to electric with some additional work to move our TV to the wall as well. They did a fantastic job, while also making sure the plans were going to meet out needs.
Will use then again in the future for other work.

The quote from KBS was higher than others we received, but we were impressed by the work done for our daughter years ago. Not all of the materials arrived on time and there was some miscommunication about the style of the bathroom cabinet, but they worked with us and we are very happy with the result! We highly recommend them.

Contracted a 24’x24’ garage with them. They poured the pad and delivered materials for a 22’x22’. Dane, the project manager, had mistakenly planned and sent materials and subcontractors for the wrong size. They offered siding for free to make up for this, which we accepted, but had to change our own plans to accommodate and ended up with a smaller garage than we wanted.
The whole project was frustrating from the beginning. Dane told me I had to ask for my own updates, because “I don’t know what the homeowner wants to know.” I want to know when you will be on my property and what you’re doing when, I don’t think I should have to ask for this information. I understand some homeowners might want explicit details of what’s being done, but I think just a basic update of when someone will be on my property and what they’ll be doing that day is not too much to ask.

BUT when told that workers would be on site doing work, they didn’t always show up. My husband took a week off from work because we were told they’d be out to pour the pad, but instead someone from Polk County came out and said the building permit hadn’t even been approved yet, after Dane told us it had been approved and a crew would be out to pour the pad.

A week or so later when the crew did show up to pour the pad, they used random things they found in my yard (my burn barrel, car jack stands, etc.) without permission to hold down their tarps, then just chucked those things wherever in the yard when they were done with them.

When the garage was almost complete, we were told several times that a crew would be out to “finish up” and they never showed up, or they came for a couple of hours and then left. Then, we were texted by Dane repeatedly that they were done when they were not, and had to have a crew come back. Days and days of “they’re done”. Nope, they aren’t. The building crew were told we were having an automatic garage door installed in a garage with no electricity, and we had to call them back just to get the garage door installed properly (still not sure it was, since they didn’t even have the right parts, and the door closes with too much tension, and you can see light around the whole door from the inside).

They left a ton of leftover materials and garbage laying around in our yard, partly because they put off the project after materials were delivered, and plenty got buried in snow and forgotten. But also because they just left their garbage everywhere. Mt Dew cans, Casey’s bags, cigarette butts inside the garage and on the ground outside, and general garbage from the crews.

Ultimately, we got a garage, and this company built one for us. Smaller than we contracted for, and with a bunch of crooked roof joists and sill plate is messed up, but I guess we can fix that for ourselves. Took at least a month longer than we expected, and with loads of problems. We were just DONE dealing with this company and didn’t want them to send any more people out for 2 hours and Dane text “they’re done” when they’re not.

I have plenty of screenshots to back all this up, because this company likes to blame things on the customer. I’m seeing that in their reviews.

Dane completely botched this project from the beginning from the size of the project and ordering materials, to hiring subcontractors who trashed my property, to not keeping the homeowner informed, to not making sure the project is actually done properly and finished. We signed off and paid for this job because we wanted them to never step foot on our property again.

Excellent workmanship with great attention to details. Very easy to work with, project manager kept me well informed of progress and when workers would be working. Friendly and accommodating to changes. Very pleased with our remodeled bath.

We love our new bathroom! The people that worked on the project cared about the quality of work they were doing and did an excellent job. Good communication from the project manager, too. Highly recommend!

Our front door was leaking cold area since spring (it was also installed wrong). I called Rick and he sent Shane out to install new weather seal and adjust it. Very affordable compared to quotes I was getting.

KBS took care of an existing roof issue from the storms we had a year ago. They worked with our insurance and took care of our repair! Rick was great to work with and Dane responded back quickly. Highly recommend KBS!

These guys were great to work with. They have completed two major projects for us this far in a kitchen backsplash install and remodel of a master and second bathroom. There was a slight mistake that they made with the master bath remodel, but they took full ownership of it and made it right. We have them quoting additional projects as well as I believe in having a contractor that I can trust. All of their team members are super professional, extremely nice and great to work with. Would certainly recommend this company!

I truly believe that Kitchen and Bath Solutions can perform quality work in a timely manner. This was not the case with our experience. The primary reason we chose K & B over the competitors is because they said they would have every trade lined up and would be able to get the job done in 3 weeks so long as we got them our material choices in their specified time. It is to be noted that my wife was pregnant with two boys and this was the only bathroom upstairs in our home so the timing was critical. They quoted us $11,000 for our 50 sf bathroom. We hit a snag with some plumbing with was another $2,000 and then the vanity we were going to get was just a $300.00 deal from Lowe's and we wanted something nicer based on the price tag so we upgraded the vanity for another $2,000. so about $15,000 was the total ticket. So with the unforeseen plumbing work it was to add a week totaling 4 weeks start to finish. We were without a finished bathroom for 5 MONTHS. It got bad, really really bad. we would send them the materials and colors and finishes we wanted and they would forget. They even installed the shower tile in the wrong direction, admitted to their mistake and then tried to charge us for it in the end.

I will say again, I think these folks are good people and they CAN do great work. My family was extremely dissatisfied with the miscommunication and their inability to deliver on their promises based on the agreement. If I could go back in time, knowing what i know now, I wouldn't have chosen them even if it was for half price it was that bad of an experience. We still have some items in our bathroom that aren't right. The toilet still makes noise randomly, the "floating" floor flees like an inch in some areas and you feel like you are going to fall through, a vanity outlet doesn't work, and grout in the shower tile is crumbling in a few areas.

We hired Dane for a full house remodel. The finished product looks remarkable. Dane's crew is courteous and professional. Dane was very flexible as we had a few last minute changes and he went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Jody is amazing. She listened, gave advice when I was unsure, and graciously explained if I didn't understand. I will be going back for sure.

Been going here for over a year and absolutely love it! My hair looks great every time and they are very nice and professional. Would recommend their services to anyone.

I love this places and the girls are very profecional and they charge me less than I spected. And the salon is beutiful.
