K & G Contractors

These guys are top notch professionals! Their workmanship, professionalism, and value is bar none to other contractors we have worked with on previous home improvement projects. I will definitely keep their number in my favorite contacts so we can use them for future projects. I cannot say enough about the pride that they take in their work and doing a good job start to finish. I also like that the company is local and military veteran-owned.

Kyle and his crew have done several projects for both me personally as well as for my previous business on several remodeling projects. They have done everything from siding, fence installation, tile work installation, painting, lighting installation, roofing, etc. Kyle has always been more than fair with his prices even after encountering problems that were beyond his control because of original poor structural design. I have always been happy upon completion and will continue to use their services in the future.

Our initial impression of this company was good. We received a prompt and on the spot quote for our projects. The owner, Kyle was very personable and relatable. And with how many good reviews his company had, we really thought this could be a somewhat flawless operation. However, it didn’t take long for the list of absurdities to begin. The first few things we tried to give Kyle and his crew the benefit of the doubt but eventually we just could not wait to get them out of our house. The project was quoted to take less than 3 weeks. It ended up taking 11 weeks. They showed up on day 1 with all materials and asked where to store them. Being it was winter and we were told less than 3 weeks I assumed keeping it all in our garage wouldn’t be an issue. Mind you, we were never told that storing all materials on/in our property was part of the deal. They ended up turning our garage into a shop without our permission making a complete mess of our garage & everything in it. And not just a little sawdust. They cut drywall inside our garage covering every surface, jeopardizing the value of our belongings including but not limited to our motorcycle. Kyle assured us nothing like this would happen again and all cutting should’ve been done outside. The main guy was cutting all the trim in our basement a week later, covering our basement in sawdust. The owner is a sweet talker and every person I’ve met who knows him personally has agreed. Every time something got botched and he had to fix it, he tried making it out to be some big favor he was doing us for all the money he wasn’t charging us.... FOR HIS MISTAKES! I personally ended up doing a portion of the work. The drywall company he hires is a joke and unprofessional as well. And when I mentioned to him about a recent reviewer saying the same thing he was furious and claimed it wasn’t a fair review because that’s not his company. To which I needed to remind him that it certainly did reflect on him because he is the one who contracts this company out. After all the times he tried to play the victim with how much our project costed him out of pocket (remember, the extra costs were to fix things they screwed up) he then proceeded to tell me how he doesn’t mind losing out on projects because he gets a tax break. So I’m led to believe that this project was all a scam so he could get a good tax return. His crew didn’t use the provided floor mats and screwed up my wood floors. We had a toilet sitting in our living room for over a week. I was assured so many times that they wouldn’t start any new contracts until ours was finished. Then a couple days when his crew didn’t show up he said they were on their own personal side jobs. They had unlimited access to our house and garage during the 11 week project and we coincidentally have at least 2 power tools of ours missing that we know of right now. He claims that he has experience and that his main guy had over 20 years experience and we just can’t believe that. Everything they did looked like something I could’ve watched on YouTube &figured out myself & it probably wouldn’t have taken me much longer.When ripping up the concrete floor in our basement Kyle took it upon himself to remove our floor drain which was at the low spot in our basement so any water issues in our basement always led to that drain. When we threatened court over altering the foundation of our home without our consent, he said that’s fine he’ll just charge us for all the repairs he had to cover for all his crews screw ups & he’d just claim bankruptcy & start another new llc (which would make K&g contractors his 2nd failed business) he then tried convincing me that he actually saved us thousands of $$ because that drain was probably causing damage to the foundation. Home is 80 yrs old w/no prior issues from drain but ok. We’re reminded daily of the mistake of hiring K&G contractors & it makes us sick. He has an excuse for everything & is untrustworthy. If you hire this company despite this & other bad reviews, be prepared to take time off work to babysit their every move.
