We had storm damage to our front door, storm door, and door jam. JSR did a wonderful job not only with install, but also with vacuuming up our landing afterward and cleaning the newly installed products. As a bonus, they went the extra mile by noticing and fixing our wobbly front railing (not something we asked or expected). JSR were a pleasure to work with beginning to end!

We used their services 2 years ago and still think about all the headaches we had. Started our bathroom reno while we were out of town for a week, we returned to our home being unlocked with all the lights left on for 2 days. Communication with Ryan was non existent. The crew themselves were pleasant and knowledgeable but things were not communicated with them in a timely matter: for example our flooring was laid before the toilet was moved causing flooring to be removed, wasted, and relaid. Or the contracted painters who didn’t protect the brand new tub before spraying texture all over it. To this day we are still unhappy with the result of our bathroom renovation and the issues we still have to this day.

We hired JSR Construction to remodel our kitchen. From the beginning they were responsive, professional, and provided various options for us. The whole crew was great to work with throughout the process and the quality of work and detail was fantastic. I would certainly recommend JSR Construction.

JSR Construction team members replaced my aging wood deck with composite. They were able to start the project very quickly and completed it to my satisfaction. Ben and his team worked hard on the repairs our house needed after the derecho - a garage that needed a complete roof and a lot of siding repair, roofing on the house, a complete tear out and rebuild of a storm damaged bedroom and much more.

They were responsive and always considerate of our needs. We worked with them over the course of nine months and couldn't be happier with the results. JSR Construction is now our go-to for remodeling or construction. We highly recommend them for your next project.

We highly recommend JSR Construction. We left JSR a message a few days after the derecho storm hit Cedar Rapids and within a couple hours Ben was at our house providing assistance. They installed a new roof on our house two weeks after the storm. The workers did an amazing job installing black shingles on a fairly complex roof with the heat index above 100 degrees both days. They've responded to every request we've made and we've referred them to numerous neighbors, friends and family and in every case they've done an outstanding job. We love working with everyone we've engaged with at JSR and they helped us through some very difficult times and we'll never forget it!

We hired JSR Construction for a full basement remodeling and we could not be happier! Our basement is great. The quality of work can only be described as outstanding. The work was done in a timely manner as well which is always nice when doing a remodel.

Throughout the job Ben and Melanie were easy to contact. And there was great communication among their crew.

We were also very impressed by JSR's adversity. Throughout our remodel we had several special requests and changes that we made to our original plan. And they did an amazing job to not only do the changes but seemed intent on doing whatever we wanted to make sure that our finished product was exactly what we wanted. And they did so at a very fair price.

Above all else what I was most impressed with is the people at JSR. Both the management and crew. The men who worked on our house we friendly, respectful men of integrity. We have had experiences where repairmen, or technicians work at our house and were not pleased with their behavior. With JSR there was never a foul joke, bad language, or any other negative thing that you may not want your children overhearing. By the time our job was done we were on a first name basis with every employee. They knew us and we knew them. And in some ways we were sorry to see them go.

It has been 3 weeks since the completion of our basement and we have already had Ben back giving us bids for more work we woild like to get done!

Working with contractors can be a difficult process for the average homeowner. I know I have had troubles in the past. Having my kitchen remodeled byJSR Construction, on the other hand, was the most positive experience I have had with a contractor, to date. From the initial bid, which was both detailed and reasonable (at least 15% less than the highest bid we received) to the last details of the job, Ben and his crew were courteous, respectful, efficient, and professional.

We had our kitchen gutted and completely remodeled within 6 weeks, with no unexpected delays. The work was nearly flawless. The only problem we had with any of the work was some grout that had separated between the counter and backsplash. One phone call to Ben, the owner of JSR, and the problem was corrected within the week.

Having lived in a few older "fixer-uppers", over the years, I have worked with a handful of general contractors and several independent specialists. JSR was, by far, the most positive experience I have ever had.

We contacted Ben late September early October and needed a garage built before winter. He said it could be done. True to his word, we now have a 30x30 garage with attached breezeway!!! JSR team was fantastic! They worked even on the coldest, windy days in December and first of January. Thank you for all your hard work to give us the garage we needed!!!!

Kitchen project - Ben worked with us to totally make over our kitchen/dining/living room. In place of a small kitchen and unused living room, we now have a beautiful large kitchen, a first floor laundry room, a walk in pantry and a dining area. Quality workmanship throughout, friendly and knowledgeable employees and Ben was easily reachable when we had questions. We are very happy with the results!
