I requested an estimate and they came right out. They quoted me the price and once I agreed they quickly scheduled my work. I was getting a full roof replacement as the roof hasn't been replaced in over 20 years. During scheduling they walked me through the process. they told me which day the materials would be delivered and which day the work would start which was the next day. The crew showed up and laid tarps around the entire home. I had some rotten wood on the roof and the price to fix that was extremely reasonable and they had what they needed on hand so there was no delay. Once done they left the area cleaner than when they arrived blowing off all the side walks and porches which I had not gotten two. I would definitely recommend Darvish to family and friends.

Do not use this company to put your roof on, I have been in my house for 5 years and because they don't know how to properly install ridge vents im having to pay 1000 dollars to replace them. Leaks all over the place and wanted 200 dollars to just come look at it, this place is a joke. Just got a response months later saying it was the materials and not their work. I had another reputable company look at my roof when the leaks happened and said whoever put the roof on did a laughable job

From the first contact with company from proposal to final installation I was treated in a professional manner and they were always responsive to my concerns. If a date slipped due to the weather I was immediately informed. The work crew was there on time, kept the work area cleaned and did a great overall job. The finished roof was exceptional, I have gotten numerous comments from neighbors and passer byers, 3 have asked for the companies phone number. I was especially pleased by the prompt follow up company inspector who reviewed the final job immediately after it was finished. Overall I am extremely pleased with my experience with Darvish Construction and I would highly recommend them to my neighbors and friends.

We have used John Darvish Construction to replace roofs on two separate properties over the past five years. Each time they have performed at the highest quality and professionalism. They removed the old roof and inspected the existing roof plywood and replaced and repaired where necessary. They also did an excellent job cleaning up the job-site. Following the completion, they sent out their supervisor to inspect the job. I highly recommend John Darvish Construction!

This is a second time that I have replaced my roof in two properties. I was initially pleased with pricing and their responsiveness. The crew came with impressive equipment and started working quickly due to weather uncertainties. I have a very large house and roof but they managed to do an excellent job within a few days, shorter than expected. They followed it up with another inspection within a few weeks to make sure everything was OK. The quality of workmanship is excellent and several of my neighbors complimented me. I will not hesitate to use them again.

At our previous home, we had a leak that kept persisting after multiple repairs from another roofing company. Even though we were under warranty, we got so frustrated that we decided to hire John Darvish Construction and the problem was resolved. We never had a problem with the leak for the next 15 years.
Recently we bought a fixer up in DC and hired John Darvish Construction Co. It was the best experience ever. The job was completed on time, actually earlier than promised. The crew was professional, competent and left the job spotless. Without any hesitation, we highly recommend John Darvish Construction Co.

Due to some recent intense winds one of my shingles on my roof had come loose. I sent over some pics of the problem and Melissa scheduled a technician right away to perform the repair. The technician arrived early in the morning and quickly knocked it out. I was very pleased that Darvish stood by their work.

Customer service doesn't even meet the standard. Had my roof maintenance and changed on my card. Next rain comes leaks and damaged drywalls. They send someone back out 3 times but still leaks. When called back the lady had an attitude and trying to charge me again. .. I haven't even ask for Drywall repair reimbursement twice. They shouldn't be in a roofing business.

KHOV was my home builder. They have used them was is a complete failure.

Darvish put a new roof on my house 2 years ago. Upon selling the home, the home inspection had two shingles (in two very different areas) that were torn. Since I have not had any storm damage to the roof, I called and asked if they would replace the shingles. They refused, claiming they have pictures of the roof after it was installed and there were no shingles that were damaged. I asked if I could see the pictures, and was told "No" since the pictures were not my property. The lady I spoke with was less than nice about it. She claimed that some of the other "tradesman" must have gotten on the roof and damaged the shingles. I say BS!

Davish poorly installated replacement shingles at a cost in excess of $250.00. Approximately two weeks later, I reported the issue to Darvish and ultimately spoke to the manager who informed me that Darvish does not “warrant” the shingles or the installation. Moreover, she advised me that if I pursued the issue further that Darvish would come and “just take the shingles off my roof.” I had the misfortune of speaking with both Cindy and Melissa (the manager) and have rarely, if ever, been treated as rudely as I was treated during this phone call. I CAN NOT STRESS HOW STRONGLY I ADVISE AGAINST USING THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A ROOFING COMPANY!

They installed the roof on our 5 year old house. During this epic wind storm we lost a lot of shingles. We spoke with them about inspecting it the day of the storm, but were told no repairs would be made until we authorized. We came home today to find that they had replaced the missing shingles, making our insurance claim quite difficult at this point. Since 70% of our neighbors (estimate) who had their roofs installed by them lost a lot of shingles compared to other neighborhoods, we feel there was a faulty install. On the bright side they are not charging us for the replacement, but they may have caused us to lose our insurance claim for a new roof.

Buyer beware! They installed a roof on our new house. During the recent wind storm we and many other neighbors experienced shingle damage. They extended the warranty to one neighbor and then denied the remaining. According to several other roofing contractors, the shingles were incorrectly installed. Customer service is poor at best. Rude staff.

This company poorly installed the vent in the roof of a new home resulting in water leak and damage into the home. One of their workers verified this issue, but when I called their manager denied this finding, despite the fact that I had someone there when their worker came out who is in the construction field, and their worker discussed this finding in detail with him. When we challenged the manager on this point, they hung up on me. I am just a new homeowner trying to get an issue fixed. How unprofessional. And uncaring. Why force people to go toward legal action?

While not a paying customer of John Darvish, I sure ended up paying after they completed the roof on the home behind mine...

While several of my neighbors took issue with this company about their employees drinking on the job site, roofing debris being showered on a neighbors dogin an adjacent yard, and parking all day in a fire lane while blocking driveways. The real crime was when they put a ladder thru my wife's car window. When we approached the company about getting the window reapired, the office manager Melissa informed me that they deny any responsibility, and unless I can provide video evidence that it was not their problem.

Do not hire this company as they do not know how to be honest. They left behind trash and debris, and damaged property with no regard.

I have had Darvish work on two houses for me. The first was roofing large home in Fairfax Station. We had amazing results.
The second home was a historic home near Catharpin. They first replaced our old tin roof with a beautiful metal roof. They also installed a Duradeck on our decking. Great customer service, great guidance throughout the project, and superb follow up. Very happy customer.

They have horrible customer service. The person on the phone hanged up on me! I asked them why is my roof leaking and they said its because it snowed, so when I asked if I have to expect that every time it snows they said yes, and hanged up!!! I'm not surprised as they are part of the "Craftmark" racket. This is a builder that uses low quality contractors to build homes and then they do not fix the large number of problems that customers like ours experience. Stay away from them.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
