Jerome is a pro and provided a detailed plan to the project based on our needs. He is courteous, responsive, and willing to accommodate our requests and schedule. We highly recommend the company for anyone who wants to build Trex decks.

Jeremy and his team took on a small deck job for us earlier this summer and we can not be more happy with he final project. the area that we wanted the deck was a little challenging to get the most desk space and not interfere with the patio area already in place. Jeremy came back with some thoughts on my original plan and it worked out incredibly. we highly recommend him and his team for any deck jobs you are planning.

I contracted JLM Builders to build a deck with a screened in porch, a grilling area and bar. I chose a hybrid of wood and Trek, the price was reasonable and the work outstanding. Words cannot express the work Jeremy and his team does! Their work is beyond exceptional, it truly is a work of art. They are on time, work every day all day and clean up everything every evening. We contracted JLM to remove an old wooden deck and build a new deck using composite decking by Trex, and covered with an “A” frame roof.

Another contractor we had over suddenly realized that everything else was getting wet in the rain except him due to the drainage that we had installed to the underside of deck and the look on his face you'd think he'd witnessed Santa flying by. Professionalism and quality from the first phone call to the last clean up. If you want a deck built, this is the team to do it. Jeremy and his builders even went the extra mile since we were having a hot tub installed, as they built a ramp to aid in getting the tub up on the deck and pitched in to get it placed. Jeremy came by with pictures of his work and books filled with material selections. He also had cad drawings for what we wanted and pulled all permits. I would always admire a neighbor’s deck (I drive by it every day). Found out it was built by JLM Builders, LLC. Immediately contacted them and Jeremy was over the next week with floor samples and helped me put to paper my vision of a covered deck that walked out to the back yard. Our first meeting was in March. Deck construction started late August and lasted 2 weeks. During the construction, most communication was done via email, which I preferred, but Jeremy was often on site and was always available by phone. As the deck was being built, we asked about a change to the floor plan. To my absolute delight, Jeremy was able to make the change and even offered a recommendation to make it even better (we added a nook for the grill). I’m sure it was a terrible inconvenience, but the update made the deck even better! Everyone that sees the deck compliments it. It’s too beautiful for words. We’re very pleased.

Jeremy replaced our old deck with a new Trex deck a few years ago. There were some issues with the brackets and after contacting Jeremy, who worked closely with the supplier, was able to obtain new brackets and install them on the deck. I am extremely satisfied with our deck from JLM Builders. The work was completed in a timely manner and at a level of quality that was great. Original timeline quoted was 1 week (5 business days) and they finished the actual work in 6 plus one for the final county inspection day. I had the benefit of having 2 neighbors that did their decks at or around the same time so I got to watch the progression and work of 3 different vendors almost simultaneously. I don’t know the names of the other vendors or how much or how long these neighbors were quoted, but the timeline between the one neighbor and ours should have been similar as they were both rectangular decks with a stairway attached that went down to the back yard. A very small caveat is that the deck style was different also, but after watching them work and seeing other style decks on their site I would still put these in the same category. That neighbor had a deck that was slightly smaller than ours but was detached from the home unlike ours which was attached. That deck and ours had approximately 8-10 holes for major supports that required cement. Our deck was completed in 6 days start to finish, the other one took over a month to complete. It took those guys over a week just to dig their holes, JLM was done with the holes in a day. You could just tell that competitor was either not prepared or not motivated like the JLM crew was. The second neighbor’s deck is a bit more complex as it has a second story that goes up to their bedroom, so I don’t think it would be exactly fair to compare ours to theirs, but that crew started 3 weeks before ours did, and they are still at it while ours has been done for over a week now. Another thing to note is that JLM hauled all of the dirt away that was removed from the holes, they kept the sod patches and went back and placed the portions around all of the posts so that it looked like a yard again. Neighbor #1’s yard was demolished under the deck as they just spread the dirt around. Neighbor #2’s crew wheelbarrowed the dirt over to the edge of their property and dumped it. Again, I do not know if these neighbors asked to remove the material as I did, so take that for what it’s worth, but it just shows a level of detail that was possibly missed by the other companies. I would highly recommend JLM builders for all of your decking needs.

JLM Builders did a superb job replacing my old deck with a new roofed Trex porch. Demolition and haul away of old deck was done in one day. The design and attention to detail satisfied my perfectionist nature. The crew was professional and tidied up the site at the end of every day. The completion time was amazingly quick. The porch is beautiful, and looks as if it belongs on the house. I can’t wait for them to come back to complete staining the posts and screening in the porch.

We had an awesome experience from beginning to end. We are so glad that we found JLM Builders to do our job. We weren't sure what we could do as we have lots of set offs for our drain field, propane tank, water hook up, etc. but Jeremy was very knowledgeable & knew exactly how to make all this work. He was very easy to talk to & listened & gave us lots of great ideas which we ended up using. They built a 16' x 21' Trex transcend tropical covered deck in about ten days. Jeremy had everything timed out in this time frame as to not have too much material on the job site at one time. The workers were extremely efficient & had everything put away after each workday & left no clean up for us. In figuring out this first covered deck as we have a huge backyard we asked Jeremy for phase two to our deck & he was quick to help us figure out this area too & again had great ideas. I never write reviews but love to do my research & read them to get the best person possible for the job & JLM Builders deserve their 5 star rating & more so believe what you read as they are truly awesome to work with & you won't be disappointed.

Jeremy and his crew did an excellent job at a competitive price for building my new 510sqft composite/hybrid deck. His competitors quoted inferior materials for the same price (or more). He was easy to work with, his crew showed up early and stayed late and cut no corners. JLM handled the permitting and scheduled county inspections as needed so that everything would pass the first time.

Jeremy at JLM puts his customers first. After a miscommunication about lighting options, he installed lights on my deck at no cost to me with no questions asked — eating the cost in the name of customer service. This is a rare quality to find in a company or these days, and speaks directly to the character of JLM.

Jeremey built a beautiful TREX deck for us. I've worked in construction when younger and I watched his guys working on our deck. They did extra work that I would never expect a contractor to do. They routered the edges of the 6 x 6s. They used shims to align slightly warped boards. They were small things, but I knew very few construction companies would go to the effort. We have now had our deck for going on four years and it has not needed one adjustment. About six months ago I needed one six foot piece of TREX decking that was used for another project and I was going to have to special order a much larger piece. I contacted Jeremy, hoping he would have some I could come get. The next day the decking piece was in my driveway. He goes above and beyond. I have a family member who owns a construction company. He was very impressed with Jeremy's work and couldn't come close to his cost even with the family discount. We hope to be moving soon and will definitely use Jeremey again.

Jeremy and his team upgraded and replaced our existing deck railing; built a stairway with gate from the deck to ground level; built a 12ft x12ft Sunroom over our patio adjacent to the second level deck; and installed a sliding door between our Breakfast Nook and the new Sunroom. All of this was done at a very reasonable cost with no overruns. The siding, shingles and flooring additions matched perfectly with existing construction. The work was done at and during the time scheduled in a very professional manner. The work was not only structurally sound but well designed, well constructed and quite attractive. I had Jeremy and his crew demolish an old wooden deck that was rotting away and replace it with a TREX deck. Per his recommendation, I also purchased a COSTCO Cedar Pergola and had him install that as well.

We had the initial quote in early March but by the time we made our decision to have the work done he was booked out into July. We had really wanted to have our deck installed prior to an upcoming family event in May. While we were a little disappointed with the July date, we accepted it. But through some good luck, and Jeremy’s great memory, we ended up having the deck installed in April. Apparently one of his jobs cancelled and Jeremy gave me a ring and asked to do it earlier. We agreed enthusiastically.

The job, from demolition to installation, was done in about a week. The JLM crew was extremely professional and extremely neat. Even during the demolition they never left a mess. They left the yard looking better than they arrived. I was very impressed.

The craftsmanship on the deck is beautiful. I haven’t purchased any deck furniture yet, but I still enjoy just sitting outside in a folding chair admiring the work. It is really well built. (See photos).

I was extremely impressed with Jeremy from the get-go. He showed up on time for our appointment (you'd be surprised how many contractors don't), came with lots of examples and worked with me to get the design I wanted, even when that meant cutting back on a few things due to cost. The only downside were the delays of starting the project due to the Trex shortage they experienced, but I would say that was not in their control. Other than that, the crew who came to do the work every day was on time, professional, respectful and appeared to work extraordinarily hard (even on very cold & windy days). This is the second time in a year I've contracted with JLM Builders and have again been very pleased. There was a delay in getting supplies since Trex was on back order. Jeremy was easy to work with and shared some great ideas that turned out great. There was a minor issue early in the construction but Jeremy and his crew quickly corrected the issue and there was no delay in the project. Eventually there will be a phase two of the project to add a roof over the deck and I fully plan on using JLM for that addition. From start to finish was not even a full four days I think. JLM Deck Builders are perfect! Mr. Murphy helped me to design my own covered screened-in deck. The workmen were competent and personable. Each day Mr. Murphy was at the work site and kept me informed. An inspector said this work is perfect. JLM always does excellent work. As far as price is concerned, I believe "you get what you pay for". I paid for and now have a perfect deck. A family member said "when your house falls down, that deck will still be standing."

JLM completed a new deck on our home. The entire process was efficient, well organized and the team cleaned up completely when they were done. The work was exceptional and looking forward to enjoying the deck for years to come.

The motto of JLM Builders, “Building With Pride,” could not be more appropriate. Working with Jeremy was a refreshing reminder that it still is possible to find contractors who take pride in their work; who treat their customers fairly; and, who treat every project as if it’s at their own home.

Jeremy and his great crew built a screened-in porch on our home, extending part of the existing deck to do so and also resurfaced with Trex the remaining roughly 1,000 square foot deck, to include replacing all the railings, stairs, building an entirely new set of stairs, and staining all remaining wooden surfaces.

The job was complicated by the hour+ commute from Jeremy’s home base in Winchester, continual rain during the entirety of the process, and a slope that made rebuilding the existing stairs difficult. None of that deterred Jeremy from doing a terrific job. He did not rest despite all the challenges until my wife and I were satisfied.

We could not be more satisfied with the finished product. We also could not be more pleased to have had the opportunity to work with someone who is so professional, straight-forward, and decent. We fully endorse JLM Builders without any reservations.

Jeremy did much more then just build our deck, he had a vision to improve the design so that we had a better view of the water. He and his crew came on the day they promised and finished up on time. He sent us e-mails every evening to update us on the days progress. It looks great and we couldn't be happier!!

The bottom line is that Jeremy and his crew did an excellent job on our deck.

Jeremy set an appointment to look at the house a couple of days after I called him. He showed up on time with a professional portfolio and several sample sets to cover all aspects of the design. He listened intently, presented a number of options based on my input, and gave me honest opinions rather than trying to up-sell me. Being a relatively high strung person, I was a little concerned by how laid back the interaction was. It turns out he wasn't concerned because he understood exactly what I wanted and knew exactly how to do it. I requested a couple of tweaks that are slightly outside of the norm and they were accommodated without hesitation. He communicated with me regularly throughout the process and always responded to e-mails the same day.

His crew worked seemingly tirelessly until the deck was done and did a fantastic job. I'm very familiar with some of the products used and their installation procedures. Every time I saw the crew working, they were doing it exactly by the book the correct way.

Overall, it was a great experience for a fair price that resulted in an excellent finished product, which is something I can't say very often about my experiences with contractors. In my opinion one of the best endorsements a person can give is repeat business. If I have another project that is in JLM's wheelhouse, they'll be my first call.

I couldn’t be more impressed with JLM Builders and would give 10 stars if I could!! After planning to have a contractor begin our deck in May, he flaked the day construction was supposed to begin and said he had yet to obtain our permit - this was upsetting to say the least as we had hoped to have our deck on in time for summer and knew finding someone would prove difficult. I quote shopped for quite some time before almost throwing in the towel on the idea of an affordable deck. Our neighbors then referred us to JLM Builders (we asked who did their deck as it was done so quickly and looked incredible). Jeremy got back to me with a very professional quote the same day. We were sold and booked with JLM. The deck itself is a 12x16 on the second level of a 3-story townhouse. JLM worked from 8:30AM-7:30 PM day one, 8:30-8:30ish day 2, by day 3 the deck was done by 11:30AM’ish. Everyone was extremely professional, Jeremey is efficient and quick to reply to emails and answer any and all questions. We are EXTREMELY satisfied!

Jeremy recently built my family a screened in porch. From the design process to the final touches, Jeremy was always listening and available. Living in a new build community we have had a lot of neighbors who were dissappointed in the workmanship and communication from their contractors, not us! The price was great and the quality is great! We could not be happier. Jeremy is honest, reliable, and treats your project as if it was in his own backyard.

Short Version- Jeremy and his crew are Stellar!

Long Version- Jeremy was the 1st of 3 bids we received for a screened in porch refurb and a large new deck install. First impression was very good- he was very laid back, not pushy, and based on his portfolio of past projects- knew how to not only build new, but also fix existing mistakes. The later was key for us.

Nonetheless, I got two more bids to ensure we were getting the most bang for our buck, and that proved to be a huge waste of time- and ultimately set our build time back considerably. (You know a builder is starting out bad when promised quotes are delayed by weeks!) It was clear we needed Jeremy for this task. He drafted a clear and concise contract, gave us a start date and in no time, he turned our dull and potentially dangerous deck into a piece of art!

His crew showed up early, worked into the evening nearly 10 days straight- even during a holiday and never once gripped. I believe there shortest day was 10hrs, and the longest was 13 or 14! The work site was cleaned impeccability daily and Jeremy was on site very often to ensure everything was on track. When they start your build, they are on it until the end----- not like many builders who over schedule and have numerous projects seeming never to be able to finish any promptly.

While going over some options, I asked Jeremy how HE would do some things, and to his credit he offered his honest insight. At the time I was not convinced his would look the best, but ultimately I told him to do it how he would do it himself, and in his experience looks the best. A great call trusting him on my part! I never would have imagined a bare wood ceiling would look better than out old white drywalled one, and that moving some supports could enhance the build so much!

He never tried to upsell us, in fact, the opposite. He priced a few options for us to go over to ensure were were comfortable with the price, and talked me out of doing a few extras that he felt were too pricey. For instance I had the idea of adding lights all over the place---- he had more of a minimalist approach which he said would look better and save money. I figured I could always add more, but dont need to because he was spot on!

Everyone wants to hear the bad, but I have trouble noting any adverse points. Maybe he is too clean? After the entire build I found about a 1/2 of a teaspoon of sawdust and one screw! LOL! Really, there was nothing bad or out of place! ...I picked up literally 30 pounds of nails from my garage build from another builder--- so I was ready for some clean up on this one but it was not needed! NICE!

If you want top notch construction from a super clean and hard working crew at a good value, look no further! I would advise booking quick as his schedule fills up fast. Look forward to having him back soon for a porch refurb he is already looking into for us!
