After doing research on J&D handyman I reached out for James. I needed about 5 projects done at my home. A plumbing job as well as a screen door replaced, some damage to the trim around my garage. He also replaced some window shades and added a railing and railings in our shower. Couldn’t be happier. He and his associate were so knowledgeable and gracious. I will use him again without question. Price was what the estimate was. He got in the business working with his grandfather. What else can I say!!!

Great experience with J&D who replaced our front door and rear slider. James and his team were professional and polite from start to finish. Quality work and left the site clean. We'll be using them again for future jobs. Definitely recommend!

Working with J&D was great. He was very communicative, showed up when he said he would, cleaned up after themselves, and I'm very pleased with the end result. He is easy to speak to and bounce ideas off, and helped provide suggestions for what we should do when we weren't 100% sure what we wanted. We ended up having him install gutters, downspouts, a balcony railing, remove an outdoor animal cage, and fill in an old pet door (which also required patching both the interior wall/baseboard and the exterior siding - which both blended in seamlessly when they were done). I will definitely be using them again for future projects!

My husband and I live in Norton and were looking for a handyman to complete some jobs around our house. He googled "handyman around Norton" and JD Handyman came up. He came to our house to see what we needed done, gave us an estimate, and told us when he could complete the work. After interviewing a couple other handymen, we decided to go with JDH. They were so polite, forthcoming, organized and honest. They wrote up a quote and stuck to it. They started the job on time and all the jobs came out fantastic. I love their work ethic and work. I have already given their name to other people and I will definitely have them come back again. They replaced our entire sliding glass door, replaced all the railings on the deck, fixed 2 holes in our roof, fixed a leak and small hole in our kitchen ceiling, and installed 3 ceiling fans and a light fixture in our hallway. I was so happy!

JD handyman was recommended to me he was able to schedule me in a timely manner and called me back immediately to schedule a quote. Replaced windows all windows in basement, showed up on time completed the job same day friendly staff would recommend.

James and his helper did an excellent job. He is talented, professional and efficient. He pointed out a safety issue on a project which I had him repair. It feels good to get all the maintenance issues finally done.

J & D Hanymen are great. They responded promptly when we reached out, scheduled the work quickly and did a quality job for a fair price. We were very happy with the drywall repair and.contracted them to replace a couple broken stair treads as well. We will definitely use them again

James was extremely professional and responsive. Showed up on schedule and kept a very clean workspace. He took care of our job soup to nuts, which included replacing drywall, installing vinyl plank flooring, door and floor molding, staining and painting. We will definitely use J&D Handymen again and would highly recommend them.
Update Feb 2024 - We did in fact use them again, they installed two storm doors on our house and once again we were extremely happy with their service!! James is communicative and gives you a schedule and estimate and sticks to it, which can be a rarity with contractors.

James has been doing work for me for several years now and I am always more than satisfied. He has never not done an excellent job. We seem to need many repairs on our older house such as window repairs, deck floor board repairs, installing a yard lamppost, replacing door thresholds, etc... etc... He is personable, very particular about doing the job right which I love. Always responds, comes over for a quick estimate, follows through in a timely manner. Could not be more satisfied and highly recommend.

James installed handicap grab bars into a bathroom for us. He is conscientious small business owner who provided a quote in an expedited manner and his work was excellent! We recommend him highly!

We were blown away by the professionalism and quality of work of the J&D handymen. They were courteous and hardworking, and they even cleaned our floors before leaving because they were replacing drywall which can get dusty. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

J&D handymen replaced our shutters and replaced the ramp on the shed. Communication was excellent, quote and scheduling appt easy. Showed up and completed job on day scheduled and was able to address a problem previously not identified. Great experience. Would hire him again.

I live in a townhouse and was looking for a privacy petition to separate my rear porch from the adjoining unit’s porch. James was able to custom build this petition on site to my exact needs while conforming with requirements of the HOA.

He along with his assistant Cameron were prompt, courteous, professional, and well organized from the initial consultation through the completion of the project. The quality of their work was outstanding. They completed the job in a timely fashion and at the completion of the job they washed down the petition, cleaned the entire job site and removed all remaining debris and materials from the property. I won’t hesitate to call on James for any future needs. These two young gentlemen were a pleasure to do business with. The job was reasonably priced.

Residing in a townhouse, I desired a six foot vinyl fence as a privacy barrier between myself and my neighbor. One that needed to descend across my porch and then descend four steps. James and Cameron from J&D Handymen didn't think twice of tackling the job and as my photo illustrates the fence turned out fantastic. They were both great to work with, at all times involving me in the decision-making process and bouncing their ideas off me. At the end they policed the work site and hauled away remnants and trash. Very reasonably priced, very friendly and professional - I won't hesitate to engage their services again.

Had a bathroom fan replaced. James got back to my initial email very quickly and got the job done fast and very professional. Will definitely use again!

Unprofessional and immature.

I was looking for help replacing a chirping fire alarm on a high ceiling. James said he thought he’d be able to do the job and asked me to send pictures of the layout of the fire alarm and the room. After I sent the pictures, James blocked my number. I find this very unprofessional and a poor way to handle business. I would have respected and accepted if he had said “sorry, now that I see the room I realize I won’t be able to help you” rather than being blocked and ignored by this business.

Update: over a week passed before you responded. I do not appreciate that you are trying to gaslight me and deny that this happened. I do not wish to resolve this with you; I moved on in my search of a handyman and blocked your business number after I left this review. Now you are trying to reach me from other numbers and it is making me uncomfortable.

Please accept that: I was not happy with my experience as a potential customer, I do not want to pursue using your business, what I wrote in my review is what I experienced, people are allowed to leave honest reviews, even if they are negative, and I do not want to be contacted by you from other numbers.

James was responsive via email, showed up when he said he would, and did great work at a fair price. And he’s a nice guy, too.

Really can’t ask for more than that.

I have hired James to do several projects and I have been very pleased with each one. He did some small things, like replacing a light fixture, and big things like fixing concrete on the patio and then painting the patio. He also constructed a beautiful baseboard down my stairs to cover up a poorly done drywall job (done by someone else). It made the stairs look so nice! James is prompt with replying to messages, he is well organized, provides professional quotes, explains in detail what he is going to do and why. He shows up on time and completed the jobs in a timely manner. He cleans up afterwards and is so pleasant to interact with. I have hired him several times and will hire him again for my next job. The work I had done is excellent. This company is now my handyman go to for my house. He’s polite punctual honest. I’m having more work done by this company. I recommend this company. I am very happy with everything I’ve had done. He’s doing my bathroom next. Great overall.

I hired J&D Handymen to install a large double exterior door on my new workshop. I built the workshop myself, but had never installed a door before. I spent a while researching best door installation practices; however, my attempt did not go well. As I had chosen the door after the rough opening was framed, I was under the suggested RO width recommended to install this door. Long story short, after several days of messing with the door, I decided to contact J&D Handymen for fear that I might damage the door, as I had already inserted and removed several fasteners.

I really could not be more pleased with my experience with this business! Once I presented my job to them, they provided me with a price and availability. We picked a date and discussed some details. Leading up to the job, I had reached out several times with questions. All of my questions were answered immediately and thoroughly. They arrived on time and on the selected date. Once here, they immediately identified and rectified several issues with the door. This included them having to leave the job site in order to replace a defective hinge that had been installed on the door. They spent several hours working, and when all was said and done, the door came out better than I could have hoped for!

J&D replaced a oven vent fan for me. I ordered the part and he picked it up and installed it in a rental property later that week. He provided an estimate over text, arrived on time, and sent photos when the work was done. It was a very smooth process and intend to use them again.

James has helped us at our home a couple of times to fix cabinets, replace bathroom faucets, drywall work and generally any other issues with home repair we've needed. James does great work and explains what he's doing and why. Can't recommend him enough!

They did a great job with some general trim and door repair and a window replacement. Great communication, fair price, reliable and did a wonderful job. Would definitely use again!

James and his crew completed several home improvements for me. They cut and installed several custom pine interior doors, as well as painted them and all the door casings. Refinished a damaged ceiling, replaced all of the vinyl siding on one side of the house and repaired a few pieces in other spots. Also installed a stone facade wall and soffit ceiling on the back deck, enclosing it beautifully. They completely transformed the look of the deck and made it brand new again.
James and his team were extremely efficient, professional, courteous and take great pride in their work. They are a great group of guys! James encountered a few unexpected things for which he had great ideas on how to handle. He showed me and explained the circumstances and offered solutions. Safety is a top priority as well.
I had a small issue after the fact related to the vinyl siding. I emailed James to explain the situation and get his thoughts. He got back to me right away and sent someone to fix it the next morning, and then was sure to follow up with me to make sure I was happy with the results.
James is a great businessman, skilled at his craft, and I will be calling J &D Handymen for my next home improvement or repair project!

They removed an old dishwasher and installed another. Very quick and efficient. While doing the job, James happened to notice an old ice machine water line under the sink was corroded and would eventually burst, so he fixed it on the spot. He’s very thorough and obviously truly cares about his work.

James and his crew did a terrific job repairing rotted trim on our home. The job presented some odd challenges, which they dealt with skillfully. They arrived on schedule, did the works efficiently, and were really a pleasure to deal with. Good work, fair price, tidy job site -- what more can you ask?

We had James and his crew skim coat some walls in our 100+ year old home. They were in pretty rough shape. They did a fabulous job considering what they had to work with. They're lit! By that I mean, they fixed my bathroom light and replaced light bulbs that were hard to reach, all for a good price.

J&D Handymen replaced some window sills and trim on the exterior of my house, as well as replaced a track light and smoke detectors. James was very responsive to my questions through email. He arrived on time and although he expected the job to take 2 days with 2 people, a third person allowed them to complete all tasks in only 1 day. Their price was fair, and best of all, they cleaned up everything. Not a trace was left behind. James, Cam, and Doug were all very professional and considerate of the fact that I was working from home while they were working. I was very pleased with their work and would use again if needed.

I needed to have the sliding glass door in my dining room replaced. I emailed James and he came and took measurements and gave me a quote. We set up a day and time for the installation and he and his crew were right on time. They were very courteous, efficient and made sure I understood what they were doing. They cleaned everything up and left me with a beautiful sliding door. I am extremely pleased with the job they did and will not hesitate to call them again for another project. I just had Doug and James hide the wires behind my flat screen TV that is mounted on the wall. They were very professional, did a great job and kept the area very clean! I highly recommend them for any job!

We used JD Handymen after James did some work at my brother's house as we wanted to replace our old bathtub. He was quick to respond, provided us a detailed quote, and followed through in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. He showed up when he said he would, walked us through the project, and kept a clean work space. The results were fantastic and we couldn't be happier with our new shower. We definitely recommend JD Handymen and will be the first one we call when we need work done.

We contracted J&D to replace 14 windows in our home along with various repairs to old outside trim, replacing the shingles on top of our porch, a new light and exhaust fan in our upstairs bathroom, and completely replacing one window sill that had started to rot. From start to finish they were professional and did an excellent job with everything we needed done. I highly recommend James and his team.

James and his team did a great job on our list of "to do" items (i.e. repairing drywall, replacing ceiling fans and bathroom vents, replacing tiles in our kitchen backsplash, etc.). They have been here twice to work on our never-ending list. We were extremely pleased both times. They are professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.
