We had Joe's Team with Miguel and his two-men-crew doing the window trim replacement on a very challenging project - 3rd floor window, blocked by a tree.
Summary: super exact work, super careful with tree and shrubs and the worksite was left perfectly cleaned up.
We couldn't have wished for more.

You pay for what you get. As the man once said you can have it fast, cheap and good but you only get the choice of two. Excellent craftsmanship for both wood repairs and painting. No lingering on site. Tom wields a brush and roller as well as any man walking. Highly recommended.

Called J&B painting for an estimate to stain our deck based on the reviews from the website. I was not disappointed! Joe got back to me that afternoon and we had a quote within a day. He scheduled the work to be done that same week. Joe came to the house the morning the work was to be done to introduce us to Elli and get the job started. We could not have been happier with the Elli’s work. He was professional, thorough, neat and took extreme pride in his work, as it shows in the before and after pictures below. We will definitely call on Joe and his team for any future painting jobs we need!

Joe and his team came to the rescue after I hired another painter for my exterior house and garage painting who just left my job mid-paint. Needless to say I was in a twist but Joe came over, looked at the work (or lack thereof) and THANKFULLY agreed to take on the job and had his guys out there THE NEXT DAY.
The house and garage look unbelievable, the quality of work and care is top notch, and you don’t have to worry about managing anyone or worrying about how it’s going to come out.
Based on my experience hiring someone else vs Joe…
- J&B has a team of over 23 painters; the previous guy I hired was a one man band
- J&B is licensed and insured- This is a must, especially when you’re having people scale ladders and climb up on your roof. My former painter was not licensed and insured, something I didn’t even think to ask about. I cringe when I think how dumb this was in case something happened.
- J&B Painting has an excellent proven track record and you’re dealing with the owner Joe if you have an issues. Joe is Johnny on the spot, is easy to get in touch with and buzzes by to check the progress. My former painter was a solo painter so there was no one to escalate things to when they went sideways.
-J&B Painting tapes, puts down plastic, removes fixtures/shutters, PROTECTS your home and belongings. They leave the job site clean, vacuum, remove tape, take debris away/garbage and make sure not to get paint on anything. My former painter didn’t tape anything, didn’t take down anything and when I pointed this out he said ‘I’ll just scrape it off’.
- J&B Painting checks weather forecasts and manages the paint job to ensure quality isn’t compromised. My former painter was PAINTING in a storm, and I had to ask him to leave.
-J&B Painting always makes sure you are happy and the work is quality, and timely.
Bottom Line: J&B Painting is the real deal. This is my second time using them and they have now painted both interior/exterior and done the epoxy in my basement. You get what you pay for and do yourself a favor and call them if you need ANY painting done.

UPDATED REVIEW ON 7//2024- BACK AGAIN! This is why I am a repeat customer as J&B Painting is EXCEPTIONAL!! Used the team in October 2023 for interior painting and then again this Summer for exterior painting. Reached out to Joe, who is always a delight! Joe took the time to come out to walk my property, make recommendations, go over the details and scope of project and timeline. Estimate was then followed up promptly via email with all details and information on the project. Cost was very reasonable and included not only exterior painting, patching of brick, replacing and patching wood under gutters, adding shutters and window boxes.

Freddy and Nico were the dream team!! They first showed up to power wash and prep the brick. They then came back to wrap, prepare and tape off the entire house, windows, doors and gutters. This insured a seamless paint job! They then painted from top to bottom; EXCEPTIONAL WORK! Nico and Freddy were kind, thoughtful with their work, took time to meet with me and Joe who came back to go over the project. They treated my house like it was their house! Job site was impeccable. After painting, the entire team then came back to drill the brick/hang multiple shutters and wire flower boxes. The items were shipped with incorrect screws/hanging pieces so Joe was so kind and made multiple trips to Home Depot to pick up the equipment to ensure the job was done. That was over and above and just shows the character and attention to detail provided by Nico, Freddy and Joe. Will be back next Summer 2025 to get my garage floor/epoxy done. Another amazing job! Thank you again!

ORIGINAL REVIEW 10/23- Recently moved back to Michigan and purchased a home that needed the entire interior of the house painted, TV mounts and other decor items taken down with the walls patched and primed, garage door repair and custom mill work in my kitchen. My sister utilized Joe to paint her entire house earlier this Summer and based on the finished product and quality of the job, it was a no brainer who I was going to call to work on my house. Joe was extremely responsive and communicative and really is a master of his craft! He took the time to walk through the entire project with me and make suggestions and improvements and provided a detailed, reasonable price for the scope of work. Joe and his team showed up each morning on time, were trust worthy, kind and treated my home as it was their own. They put down covers on all of the floors, were very tidy and organized and did an amazing job with the painting and all of the other items that I needed done. They were in and out and went above and beyond! Upon completion of the project, they cleaned the entire job site, taking all trash and debris leaving me with a beautiful finished product. For the price, the attention to detail and level of service provided by Joe and team, would highly recommend in the future. Will be contacting them next Summer for exterior painting and power washing of my house. Thank you Joe!

The men, from Joe Schembri, to the 2 very efficient professionals, my interaction with J & B Painting was superb. I have had plenty of painting in the 29 years here in Plymouth. This company is, by far, head and shoulders above all prior painting companies.

J&B just painted my house this week in Ann Arbor. They spent a day repairing and replacing trim that was rotted. Excellent carpenters! The painters did a fantastic job - super neat, great attention to detail and efficient. I highly recommend as Joe and his team are also great people!

The short version: I was referred by a relative that spoke highly of this company even though the painter Zai no longer works there I still proceeded to book an estimate for a job. The owner never called so I called a second time to follow up. The receptionist apologized and even said that she understands my concern and would send another message to the owner. If a company can’t do the work for whatever reason (overwhelmed with other jobs), fine just say that but don’t commit and then not follow through. So the owner finally calls me back and he apologizes and said that he would come out. I guess you know that he was a no call no show. I’m done. Very disappointing!

I had an epoxy floor done. They did an excellent job and were very professional. They finished the job in a timely manner. I would use them again for other projects.

I have just recently purchased my families house that has been in the family since the day it was built over 90 year's ago. It is a very beautiful home inside and out but definitely needed some updating and youth added to it. A great friend of mine put me in touch with Zai for some professional advice on how to make this home feel like mine as well as update the look too more of "youthful" style but still keep the character and charm of an older home. Zai made a visit to my home, shared her thoughts, idea's and game plan if I decided to go with them. After making my decision and color options I was put in touch with Joe who made two house visits to discuss types of paints, what I wanted painted he explained in detail the entire process of the project, he was present throughout the work and kept me updated.Overall J&B did in absolutely amazing job with not only helping me design and pick out my colors they helped put my mind at ease respected me and my home. I could not be happier with the final outcome. My "new" house definitely feels like my "home" now. I would recommend Zai, Joe and J&B to anyone who is looking for a polite professional painting company.
