Jay Bilt added a dormer that both increased square footage and ceiling height in our living room. At the beginning there was lots of back and forth with the architect to get things right. But this was worth the planning. Once the framers got the green light, they completed demo and rough framing in 5 days!! Part of the renovation was being used during construction and they keep everything sealed up and protected from rain. The rest of the trades did a great job too (electrical, plumbing, drywall & siding crews). Lots of signoffs but everything was kept up at a good cadence. We are happy with how our project turned out recommend you consider Jay Bilt for your project as well.

I am extremely happy with my new detached garage, I had to have the old one removed including the foundation so this is all new from the ground up. Jim is great to work with. He listened to my requests and made suggestions that made the job that much easier. I now have a full loft for storage and a jackshaft side mount garage door opener which gives me full access to the loft. I had several crews come out, demolition, concrete, framers, electricians, roofers, siding, and the garage door installers. All his crews were awesome and many have worked with Jim for many years. I would highly recommend Jay-Bilt construction to anyone considering a new or remodel construction. I now have my dream work shop:)

I should have known after they missed our appointment to get an estimate for a new attached garage and deck rebuilt. I called and Jim did come out the following week. He seemed to know what he was doing and we spent about 45 minutes going over what we wanted. I’ve waited a month now and nothing. I emailed and called to enquire about it. No return email and was told they’d pass the message on when I called. Very rude and unprofessional. I do not recommend.

Decided on Jay Bilt Construction for siding and new covered porch construction and couldn’t be happier! This company provides reliable services and excellent craftsmanship. The project, start to finish, was transparent and on schedule. The pricing was reasonable too! Would use Jay Bilt again and highly recommend!

Over the past summer I approached Jay-Bilt and Jim with a project, the demo of a large pole barn on my property and then building a new modern garage.

From day one working with Jim has been fantastic, he was able to work within our and timeline.

Communication of key dates and deliverables was fantastic and so were all the various crews that worked on the project; demo crew, concrete, framing and electrical.

Excellent people with excellent craftsmen. We are thrilled with our home renovation and expansion. One of the city inspectors said that he wished he could bring people to my job site to show them how a job should be done. I can't say enough nice things about these folks.

Was working with Jim + his architect for 2 months when all of a sudden Jim called me and told me he was too busy for my $200k home addition and left me high and dry. Jim wasn't great about following up and providing updates, which caused unnecessary delays during the planning process. Jim finally admitted he was unfamiliar with my city's requirements for setbacks and lakefront. I can't comment on his craftsmanship, but his communication was unprofessional and poor. He never refunded the deposit I gave him for the architect, so I've decided to leave this review. Would not recommend.

EDIT: adding in that Jim's architect requested an additional $500 to release the plans we had been working on. Still to this day Jim never acknowledged me as a customer, even though I directly handed money over to him.

Jay-Bilt did work for us in 2015. A friend asked us if we would recommend someone for an addition they are planning. We appreciated how Jim handled us as a customer, always informing us of what was going to happen and kept us I the loop. The work is of extreme quality. We are very happy!

I couldn't be happier with the experience. Jim from JayBilt was responsive, thoughtful, and provided plenty of ideas and options for the garage project. Construction went well and the only hiccups we really had were weather and inspection. The response from inspection was quickly cleared up and everything continued. We worked with jim and his team on extending a portion of our house to add a bathroom and closet. Everything turned out amazing and the tile guy and finishing carpenter were my favorites to work with. Construction is always a long process and there are bumps along the way. Being patient and understanding and communication are all keys to making your space what you want it to be. We are so happy we did our space.

We recently used Jay-Bilt construction to do a master bedroom addition on to the back of our home along with some remodeling inside. We are a younger couple and had a handful of other companies quote the job along with Jay-Bilt. Most of the other companies acted as if we were dreaming, or we weren’t able to do a job of this large scale (one individual didn’t even walk in the house to look around). We had Jim out and he was great. He treated us very professionally and made us feel comfortable.

This was our first time taking on a job like this and we didn’t know what to expect. Jim was very upfront with costs and things that needed to be done in addition to the regular construction. We made a handful of changed on the fly to which Jim was very receptive and worked with us every time. There were a few glitches along the way, which is inevitable with a project of this magnitude, but Jim worked with us and did everything in his power to correct the situation.

The crews that Jay-Bilt used were always polite, clean, and punctual. If they said they were going to start at 8:30 you could bet that they will be knocking at 8:30 on the dot. This made it convenient for us as we had just had a newborn baby. To which Jim also went out of his way to make sure areas were extra clean and contained when the “dirty” work was being done.

All said and done we are EXTREMELY happy with how the job turned out. It was kept on schedule for the most part the entire time even with the inclement weather. We would highly recommend Jay-Bilt and Jim for any sort of interior or exterior improvements. He will not steer you wrong!

Had a new garage with finished loft built last summer. Jim was very easy to work with from design stage through finished product. He made smart suggestions during the build and gladly accommodated a few last minute changes we made along the way. Felt all his subcontractors did great work and were very friendly. Would use Jay Built again for future projects.

After hearing positive reviews about Jay Bilt, I called them to come out and quote a kitchen remodel. From the first meeting to the end of a substantial project, Jim was straightforward about the process and was directly involved by being on site or in contact with me everyday that work was going on. From the demo crew to all the different skilled trades, every person was very professional, on time, and cleaned up daily. Not having a kitchen for several weeks can get stressful, but Jim and his crew made the process as painless as possible. We added some items and made some changes to the original plan with no inconvenience or time lost. The end result was well worth it, they did a tremendous job! My wife and I would absolutely use this company again, and would certainly recommend them to others as well.

We had a large dormer put on our second story and they did an excellent job. Everything was done very close to budget and on time!

I was in desperate need of siding repair and they came to the rescue! Other companies would not do the work since it was minimal. they responded quickly and came out that same day! prompt response and very kind and understanding, thank you again!

Ok know just based on 1 phone conversation ibhad with this guy jim.. it totally seemed as if I was a bother & waste of time during this call. For me a possible customer describing clearly what I need to be done & want done. And this guy jim just sounded & acted like he wanted no part of it . Stating it was a small job. But it is not a small job. He describes what they do & I said ya that's what I want done.. he said well I don't know what you are asking me to do.. I WANT SOMEONE TO COME OVER & LOOK AT THE SITUATION & ESTIMATE IT. ! HELLO. SO I SAID IT'S OBVIOUS YOU DON'T WANT $BUSINESS. SEE YA.!

In 2015 I made the decision to enter into an agreement with Jay_Bilt to replace and extend my driveway as well as build a garage. During the process of construction I was in constant communication with them, they always returned my calls or responded to my text. The workmanship was of excellent quality and the finished product exceeded my expectation.

This past summer our house was in need of a new roof. I called Jay-Bilt Construction to come out and give us an estimate along with a couple other companies. Jay-Bilt was the one we went with and we were very pleased with their work and competitive pricing! Very professional!
