JAF Contracting

I contracted Jake and his team to repair part of my roof and some water-damaged cedar siding. The entire job was completed in just two days, and the results look great.

During our planning meeting, I found Jake to be easy to talk with. He understood my questions and concerns, and he gave clear and sensible answers.

During the job, he communicated frequently by text and in person, so I always felt included in the process.

The final cost was slightly less than the original estimate.
In short, I was very pleased with the work.

JAF was hired to completely install new siding on my house. Jake Frederick and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Jake is a professional in every sense of the word. And he keeps his word. His crew was hard working, dedicated and every bit as reliable and professional as their boss. Jake and I already ate looking at some future projects. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Had a section of shingles coming off and Jake came out and gave me a quote to repair. When he got up there he found more damage then initially visible but he was able to get it all fixed up and was still very reasonable about the price 10/10 will be calling him again for all my home repairs!

It was a great pleasure to work with Jake. Jake and his crew replaced the roof of my house (about 1400 sq ft) plus the attached garage within one day! Jake's crew worked really hard and Jake was on site all day. They arrived at 7:15 in the morning, exactly the time that Jake said they would arrive. The work was done 1:30 pm! The crew put a drape over the house when they removed the old shingles to protect the gutters and bushes below. They also cleaned up the yard and driveway thoroughly with a metal detector after the job was done. Throughout the entire process, including price quoting, material selection, material delivery, and final installation, it was very easy to communicate with Jake. He always lets the client know when he is on the way or if he is delayed. There was only one hiccup in the process which was not Jake's fault: the building material supplier Jake uses delivered the wrong materials to my house the day before the installation. Luckily I was home and pointed out the mixup. The driver called the company, and I called Jake. Jake talked to the company and it turned out the building material company delivered the materials for another house to mine. But they were quick to correct their mistake. The driver drove back in the afternoon and delivered the right materials. Because of this, I would highly recommend that you stay at home on the material delivery day. Below is the timeline of my job:

Feb.10, 2025: Jake came for the initial visit to look at the job and measure the house.
Feb. 11, 2025: Jake emailed me the quote for the job. His pricing was very reasonable.
March 13, 2025: Jake sent me some photos of some of the roofs he had done so that I can finalize the color selection for my new roof.
March 14, 2025: Jake searched hard for some shingle samples and came to show me. I finalized the color selection. Deposit paid
March 17, 2025: shingles delivered (two trips because of the mixup)
March 18, 2025: job done in one day (from 7: 15 to 1:30).
March 19, 2025: Jake emailed me the receipt for the job.

The new roof looks great! I will report back if there is any problem, but Jake offers 20-year workmanship warranty. He said if there is any problem, I can just call him. It also turns out that he can do a wide range of jobs. Will definitely hire him again!

He called back after I left a message. He came to the property and gave a decent bid with three different options. I went with the mid grade strip roof and re-asphalt my two barns. The crew was knowledgeable and got right to work and had the job done in one day. There was a few areas that needed attention and they took care of it. It was extra but it was the best for the roof and I did not feel gouged. They even painted and repaired my cupola. Communicative. Fine crew.

JAF Contracting was recommended to us by a trusted friend who had just had a new roof put on. We called him late September 2023 to discuss pricing and a schedule for the spring.
Jake came to offer a quote on Oct 1(a Sunday ) , we agreed on the details , then he has an unexpected opening on his schedule . The shingles arrived 4 days later and the crew was on our roof on 10/9( holiday ) and the roof completed , cleaned up making sure our yard was safe for the kiddos and pets the next day . We are very happy w their work and would definitely recommend them !!
