Jacob’s Ladder Roofing and Restoration - Danville, KY

Absolutely terrible customer service! Everything started fine till Hugh realized he bit off more than he could chew with our historic home. We had two insurance claims with him/Jacobs Ladder and getting him to complete work and actually get workers on the job was like pulling teeth from a tiger. Most of the time, he just ghosted us. He blamed us for all the problems he personally caused and when he KNEW he was wrong, he stopped responding to both me and my husband. He got us approved for over $100,000 roof job and failed to complete it. He put us in a horrible bind and forced us to spend our deductible fixing other things he claimed we HAD to fix or he couldn’t do his job; oh but conveniently never warned us or put it in the insurance claim. When money got tight because he kept screwing us, he stopped showing up and left us high and dry!

The bathroom leak he claimed to fix, leaked again and then he lied and tried to claim he never touched that part of our home.

His crew that redid the shingle portion of the roof failed to put back a down spout correctly and they created a new leak and then refused to fix that for many many months till we started getting mad at him. The inside of the home’s damage has never been fully repaired either.

He left us with an insurance claim we cannot complete because he never finished the job and the mortgage company held the money hostage till he completed the job!

He seems to be able to pop out cookie cutter roofs or smaller jobs in like two days or less! He did over 50 new jobs while he abandoned ours! I see all these 5 star reviews, which was why we hired him, but we’d give him zero if possible! If you have a bigger or more complicated job… do NOT let this man con you in to the job! The second there’s a hiccup he abandons you. Honestly, we should sue him. He will just to his defense and claim we caused the problems. Rest assured, it was ALL him! *insert eye roll*

Contracted for the entire scope of work…:
Never completed our warped floors
Never Repaired damaged wallpaper
Never repaired damaged drywall in leaking bay windows
Never finished the roof job
Never repaired/replaced wet bar and wall where leak originated

*All this work WAS allowed and would be paid by insurance upon his completion.

Excellent to work with!! I was having difficulty getting companies to understand I needed my flashing and roof inspected and any repairs & maintenance. Most companies told me they don’t do flashing. How can a roofing company not do flashing?
I understand many consider caulking around flashing as homeowner or handyman’s job but professional roofing companies need to be available for 2 stories home with high pitch roofs and multiple angles.
Also many companies have a person who isn’t even a roofer come to complete the first evaluation. Not Jacobs ladder they send employees out who can look at your roof throughly give you pictures, make recommendations, and make any temporary repairs until they can come out for the job.
Always came when they stated, give precise documentation electronically with all details of bid, work, and warranty. Would definitely recommend this company as they are knowledgeable & professional from the first person who sees your roof until completion of the job.

I live in an old house built around 1840’s and needed a new roof. Jacob’s Ladder did an outstanding job of tearing the old roof off and putting the new roof on. Jacob’s Ladder walked us through every process to helping us with the insurance claim to explaining every detail regarding the roofing process. We also were given an additional recommendation for additional construction to have completed to coincide with the roofing process.We wanted to choose a locally owned company and their price matching was also an added benefit. Installation was fast and after completion, we were called to see if everything was completed to our satisfaction.
