The very first thing I did when I put an offer in on a little place was contact Pike Home Inspection Services. My area of expertise (besides speaking fluent dog) is to know where I have no expertise. Ron Pike was recommended to me in the purchase of a prior home and I was really impressed by how thorough the inspection was -- literally every nook and cranny from roof to basement floor -- in determining the soundness and functionality of a home (structure and systems.) The detailed report included multiple photos as well as specs. The doc served as well for years to come to remind me about the location of shut off valves, etc. I The inspection on the new place revealed thousands of dollars of necessary repairs, including the necessity of a new HVAC system. Nobody like surprises after closing! Calling Pike is an essential part of the homebuying process.

Ron is a consummate professional. He was available at multiple times throughout our build and completed a thorough inspection of our property. His systems and online management make things very easy and it’s a breath of fresh air knowing he came on time to review the property before we closed and completed our final snagging walk with the builder. We have used the report and issued to our builder who will make remediations due to the recommendations on the report.

The inspection seemed to go well, but after moving in found a couple issues that should have easily been caught. One was aints pouring in through the back door threshold, which had been going on for so long I had to replace the threshold because the wood was rotted. The other was that the ac filter appeared to have not been replaced in well over a year and this caused enough dirt build up to make the unit leak water directly on the filter, causing lots of rust. I asked Ron to follow up with me about ac unit since he should have seen this and he all of a sudden disappeared and stoped responding. Even tried to get my realtor to get him to help, no luck there either. I would not use Ron again due to his lack of self responsibility for something he clearly missed and shouldn't have.
