We called urgently because with the heavy winds and tornado watch 5/16/25, the access panel to our attic was actually ripped off the roof and left a gaping hole. I stapled some plastic lids up to block the hole because it was almost midnight, then I called early this morning for help. By about 2 PM, they were all done with removing that old access panel/door entirely (my choice), building that roof area out, and shingling to match. Looks like nothing was ever there!

David and his team gave us 5 star service. We are new to the Columbus area and after being mislead by our inspector we reached out to several companies about our roof repair (which turned into a full replacement).

David and his team were friendly, knowledgeable and gave us the feeling that we were in the right hands. The work was completed professionally in a timely manner and the quality of the work was top notch. We received several other quotes and J Riley’s quote was not only the most competitive, it actually made us feel like we were getting a good deal.

We had storm damage and we worked with John and he was able to get a fair payment from our insurance company. We also upgraded to a metal roof and the installation crew did a fantastic job with installation. There was a storm moving in over night so they stayed late to finish the job so rain damage wouldn’t be a problem. Highly recommend them!

I had a very positive experience with J. Riley roofing. I contacted them through their website about siding that had been blown off the house in a recent storm. The office called back and had a person scheduled to look at the house 2 days later. David arrived, assessed the situation, and wasted no time locating the siding locally and explaining what the options were to get the right match. His communication with the process was great and within a day the siding was procured and the crew came out the next day to repair. David was transparent with costs and pricing and everything was reasonable. Highly recommend.

J. Riley was recommended to us by a friend that worked with them. We reached out after a large tree fell against our home in a storm. David came out immediately to help us secure our home against leaks and start the process with our home owners insurance. Repairs were extensive and included a soffit rebuild, new roof and siding and trim. As we live in a century home and preservation district, city approval was required for any construction and changes. David was very helpful throughout this process. The crews were all respectful of our space and home. Debris removed promptly and daily cleanup of the job site. We love the end result and are still getting compliments from our neighbors.

So my wife called this company to come out over a month ago to give a quote on an enclosed patio roof. Never got a quote. Wife reached out to them, and they said they would send the quote over. If they We'll, it looks like we won't be doing business with them. If they can't give a quote in a timely manner, they could reach out to my wife and let her know. If i could have given them a 0-star review, I would have. I could not recommend this company. Don't waste your time trying to get a quote.

They ghosted us. They dragged us along for weeks. Whenever I reached out, they kept saying they were still working on the estimate for the insurance. I called the insurance and they told us that J Riley had reached out to them and wanted several thousand more for work that was not justifiable. I'm assuming they ghosted us because our project was not a big one, it was mainly an interior repair to a small roof issue. Given it's the slower season for roofing, I would have thought it'd be a good fill in project. But regardless, if a company is not interested in doing business with someone, they should communicate that to the customer. We only have so much time to complete an insurance claim and they took away about 30 days. Will not recommend them to anybody looking for a new roof.

They did a nice job communicating the steps of the process and of course the completion of the roof. Out of the all the places I called for an estimate, only two came out. One came out the very next day (THIS COMPANY!) and one came out 3-4 days later. He took a lot of photos and showed me all the areas of concern. His prices are fair, and the workers respectful and helpful. Thank you!

We cannot say enough good things about J Riley Roofing and John Rickenbacker, who came to our home to go over information about the types of shingles available, color choices, the stages of getting new shingles put on, etc, informed us about new gutter and downspout installation, and kept us informed every step of the way in getting our new roof, gutters and downspouts on. He made sure the ground area was all clear of debris, nails, etc after the installation. Even after the beautiful new roof was on, John helped us with fine tuning a placement of one of the new downspouts. Quick replies to texts, phone calls, emails, coming out to the house to look at things in-person, arranging with contractors and then following up with us to make sure all is well… those are all super pluses in my book in rating a company and an experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

During a recent hot tub install we uncovered a BIG install mistake from a HVAC company. John Rickenbacker came out and assessed the damage. They corrected the installation at a fair price. Don’t bother calling any other company!! John and his crew will do the job right the first time.

If I could give this company a 10 star I would do so. I am a senior citizen that have worked with companies for 50 years; some good; some bad; Never have I experienced the excellent work ethic and customer service of J. Riley Company. Working with David has been an absolutely pleasure. When they say they strive for excellence they are not kidding, and that doesn't stop with David, that includes the wonderful crew they have. My siding is done and If the need arises for additional work I will definitely use them.

I had custom siding installed over the stucco part of my home. They also installed new soffit, trim, gutters and downspouts. David's team did a great job! John's honesty was refreshing as he assessed that my roof didn't need repairs, but did point out the cracked and rotted vent pipe boots that required attention. In addition to the roof tune-up, I also requested estimates for siding, gutters, and a complete roof replacement, as my current roof was nearing 20 years old. I reached out to this company months ago in regards to an issue with my roof that was put on in late 2021, when my roof was added, the gutter guards were ripped off, damaged and never replaced and I’ve been having issue with the gutters since the roof had been put on. . Someone came out and looked at it, said there was some issues and a few soft spots on it and they would get back with me and never did. I called back a few months later, they said they’d have to see what they could do and call me back. I never heard back. Then I called another time simply because I hadn’t heard anything. Still. And it had been a few weeks. The lady I talked to was rude. Said I’ve been told multiple times they couldn’t do anything. This company has terrible communication, they never return your phone calls or call you back as promised.

Amazing experience from start to finish! David was awesome to work with and he did everything we could have asked for when going back and forth with our insurance company. We were able to get a full roof replacement covered by insurance. The process was very easy and I would highly recommend J. Riley to anyone!!

Good fast work, but communication with the project manager was not as expected. Over all they do good work and the owner stands behind his company.

I used this company a year or two ago for a roof replacement and never left a review. I am leaving it now because even after all that time they are still assisting me. They came to check for a leak as a precaution (there was none) and assisted me with siding (which was also not related to the initial repair). Initially I spoke to several companies for my roof replacement and I found Jake to be the best! He took his time and explained everything and assisted me with working with the insurance company. The roof replacement was done in less than a day and everything was left as if they had never been there. The customer service is always fast, professional and correct. Plus he's local unlike alot of other companies. Don't hesitate, don't put in the extra work researching....just use J. Riley!

The people at J.Riley walked us through every process that would take place and explained options to us as they arose. When we decided on a metal roof the product was ordered and delivered. Afterwards the installation was scheduled, then installed. We will recommend them every chance we get!!!

Not so good of service. Guy came out and all he did was try and sell me a new roof and gutters. I just had new gutters put on in july. All I needed was someone to put a piece of facia back on that blown off in a wind storm and his estimate was $700 more than any other quote I got. When I asked questions about the quote I never got a response.

I am so impressed with this company. I spoke to Mr. Riley about my roof problem and he came out, gave me an estimate and fixed a leak no one else has been able to fix. He is a professional individual who cuts right to the chase about the problem. He fixed my roof for a fraction of the cost other companies quoted me and he did it in a timely manner.

I am very pleased with the work this company performed. The project manager, John Rickenbacker, is why I gave this company 5 stars. He answered all my calls promptly, and answered all my mundane questions. Only thing I recommend is get that man more help he seems to do the job of 10 men. The men who came out to install our new beautiful roof, worked very efficiently and did a great job with cleaning up after themselves. I really appreciate the tarps they used to protect the stuff around my house. John and his crew noticed my house had multiple layers of roofing and instead of profiting on it they only charged me for labor and materials. So for any furture customer. Hire this company. They go above and beyond, do excellent work and don't make you feel like your just another paycheck to them.

I had just a small repair needed on my roof, some little jerk squirrels ripped a shingle or two off. Jason came out did a quick estimate and was back to do the repair the next day. Didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need and the repair pricing seemed very fair. Will be calling them the next time I’m in need of roof repair!

This is by far the best roofing company I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Our roof had several leaks that we have been trying to fix for over 6 months but we just couldn't find where the leaks were coming from. Within 10 minutes they found the leaks and in less then an hour the leaks were all fixed. How do I know the leaks were fixed ? Because it was raining the day they came and the drips stopped immediately. If you are looking for a professional roofing company you don't need to look any further than J. Riley Company!

It turned out the leak I had was from my siding and not the roof. He had it repaired and only charged me for the materials and labor. We had storm damage from a windstorm that caused us to lose some shingles. I called J Riley Company to come out and review the damage, after coming highly recommended online and being a local company. Jake was extremely professional, and low pressure, nothing like the door to door roofing sales guys that were always stopping by. After his initial inspection, I decided to submit an insurance claim since the damage was likely going to be well over our deductible. Jake was there along the whole process, explaining what happens with the insurance claim, and was there when the insurance agent came out to answer any questions from me. After the claim was approved for the whole roof, Jake and his crew came out and did a beautiful whole roof replacement. We did have a deck box damaged during the replacement, and Jake and his team had a new one delivered in less than an hour I let him know. Was such a painless experience, and could not be happier with the result.
