If you’re considering a home renovation, look no further than J.B. Cote Construction. They recently completed a full demo and rebuild of our kitchen, living room, and breezeway, and the results are beyond what we could have imagined.

This was a big project—they handled everything: demolition, insulation, tiling, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, electrical, appliance installation, and even wire management for the TV. They covered our old stone fireplace, installed an electric fireplace, knocked down a load-bearing wall, installed a 14-foot support beam, moved windows, and added a slider. They even took care of the finishing touches like hanging window treatments and mounting the TV.

The crew showed up every day at 6:50 am on the dot, except Mondays when they started closer to 8 am because of their weekly team meeting to prep for the week ahead. Their organization and attention to detail were incredible, and it showed in every part of the process.

What really sets them apart is how personal the experience was. Brian, the owner, and his crew felt like family. They were respectful, friendly, and just great to have around. My kids actually got attached to Rui and Phil, and when the project was finished, they were sad they wouldn’t get to see them every day! It says a lot about the kind of people they are.

Even after the project was done and fully paid for, Brian and his team kept in touch. They reached out multiple times to check in, and when we noticed small things like a squeaky basement door, they were back within a day or two to fix it. That level of service and care is hard to find.

Brian and the crew at JB Cote installed 29 windows, 3 doors and a slider at our home. They treated our home like it was there own making every effort cleaning up each day.

They went the extra mile replacing a bathroom fan exhaust cap that been missing on the exterior of our house for Years. Never mentioning it.

Couldn't recommend them enough and can't wait to work with them on our next home improvement project.

JB Cote Construction did a fantastic job redesigning our backyard including a larger deck, and beautiful patio area around our new pool. In addition, they updated our master bath and divided a bedroom into a walk in closet and office space. They listened to our ideas and made suggestions throughout the projects. The quality of work was excellent, they responded quickly to emails and phone calls, the workers were professional and cleaned the work areas each day, the jobs were done in timely manner. We were so satisfied, that we have them returning to update two bathrooms in 2025.

J B Cote did a fabulous job on our in-law addition. Brian and his team were very professional and always answered all our questions and concerns.
Brian was always quick to respond to phone calls that we made and answered all questions we may have had regardless how small they may have seemed. He stayed on his time line and completed the project on schedule.

We hired JB Cote Construction to knock down a wall and install a support beam. We really liked how they did it so we hired them for a second job of moving our back down to where a window was. After that job and a year later (my family expanded as well) we decided to hire them to add a second floor to our house! The full addition and all the other projects were all perfect! Couldn’t have asked for a better company to do these projects for my family! Excellent detailed work along with informing us of every detail along the way to keep us in the loop!

Converted an old attic into master suite with full bath with double vanity tub and wall in shower, walk in closet, sitting area and cedar closet. Renovated first floor bathroom. Built new to-code stairwell to second floor. Outstanding high quality work. Communication was seamless. Concerns quickly addressed. The job was done the way a job should be done. Would hire this crew again in a heartbeat. They are amazing.

I was excited to design my new larger front deck for my Village Barber business with an existing awning to work around. Sydney, Brian and John Cote were very helpful with many great ideas, over many emails too! Mike, Phil, Nate, Brian and the whole crew worked tirelessly from 7am sharp through end of day during extreme hot weather! They also finished this very large demo and redesigned deck within a week...incredible!

JB Cote did a fantastic job replacing our old deck with a new maintenance-free composite screened porch, as well as fixing our pool patio with a new retaining wall. This is the second project they have done for us, and they are always professional, courteous, and efficient. It is obvious they take pride in their work! Highly recommend them!

To be short and sweet: If you are fed up with the toxicity of dealing with most contractors, JB Cote are the people for you. Their estimate might give you some sticker shock, but you get what you pay for, and they are worth the money. A lot of that higher price comes from a full-time office staff that facilitates clear and timely communication and from the fact that they default to higher-quality materials (that would be an upcharge with most other contractors). If you really care about your project, they are the right choice.

If you want a quick easy review, this isn’t for you. It will long winded but thorough. It has taken my husband and I over 3 months to write this review because we want to give JB Cote Construction the accolades it deserves.

We’ve searched for someone to renovate our home for over a year and couldn’t find the right person, until we met JB Cote Construction. We initially met Brian, Mike, and Paulo to help us take our wants and wishful ideas, and created a plan that was beyond our expectations. They gave us detailed plans and realistic timelines. They were with us every step of the of way and never left us in a lurch. When we ran into an issue with our plumbing, they IMMEDIATELY took care of it and made sure to prevent future issues. Our house being what it is ran into issues, JB Cote took it in stride and made sure we were safe and resolved them.

JB Cote bent over backwards to make sure our kitchen was everything we've ever wanted, and patient with us when we had a hard time making certain decisions. They guided us on sharing what they know from their areas of expertise and respected our final decisions.

Our house finally feels like a home, it looks and feels like night and day. They made many positive changes to our home and made it feel bigger by taking a wall down, relocating stairs off to the side, rearranging the appliances, adding an island, and giving us a closet.

You may never find a more friendly, patient, respectful, polite, and professional crew, they’re simply amazing.

Cote Construction never disappoints. Our renovated barn is now a value ad for our property rather than an eyesore. They started the project on time as promised. No surprises. Couldn’t imagine using anyone else.

JB Cote Construction are professional contractors that take pride in their work and continue to work until fruition. We had a total renovation of our second floor including a new set of stairs. Once started, they were on premises every day and the project was completed in a timely fashion. Everyone from the office staff to the people on site were pleasant and knowledgable to work with. I would hire them again.

Excellent work and serious dedication by their crews. The day after a major snow storm, they were back and digging out their work area to keep going on a deck they were building for us. Communication is excellent and--most importantly--there are no "oh, by the way" situations where all of a sudden there's a thing that jacks the price way up after work has already begun. Anyone who has worked with a disreputable contractor will know what I'm talking about. None of that took place with JB Cote. We got exactly what was agreed upon and we plan to use them again for our next major project. The price is a wee bit high compared to some of the other quotes we got, but we definitely got what we paid for and are very happy with the quality and speed of the work. They also threw in a re-roofing of one of our sheds to sweeten the deal which was much appreciated. That roof was leaking like crazy after it had already been replaced by a different contractor who shall remain nameless here, so it was great to finally have that taken care of as well.

Couldn't ask for a better company and workers on site. They were sure to keep to their schedule. Always communicated with me. And.....we had so much fun on site. My design was unique...a porthole in the bath! It came out just as I imagined.

JB Cote went above and beyond -- including dealing with some mistakes on our part professionally and courteously. I detail the entire experience in more detail below.

JB Cote Construction’s crew was great and very professional. We appreciated the care and respect shown to our home as well as their expertise. After our contract was drawn up, we realized there were a few items that were not on the list and they accommodated us where they could which was awesome. We also supplied the crew with an incorrect mirror, and it wasn’t until after installation we realized it was the wrong size. Feeling embarrassed I let them know and they happily took it down and boxed it back up for us with no issue. Another mirror we supplied was broken before they arrived, whoops. The crew showed no signs of frustration with my ineptitude. I cannot stress how pleasant and professional they were.

When we realized one door opened the opposite way we would have liked, JB Cote sent someone over to adjust it very promptly. We were very happy with how they wanted everything to be right. There was a bit of confusion regarding the contract, and it's something I needed to pay more attention to, but it did not impact our view that this is a 5 star company.

JB Cote has been the best construction company we’ve worked with since moving to Rhode Island. We were quite happy with the quality, professionalism, and responsiveness with communications. We plan to work with them in the future with further housing projects.

I have had J B Cote Construction do many projects on my home. I have had a bathroom, flooring, decks, siding and other projects completed. I am always very happy with the work. They are very neat and timely. But most of all their work is beautiful, like something from a home improvement magazine. Very professional.

The people came out Phil, Roy and Travis were courteous pleasant professional and highly skilled. The work was done efficiently and was high quality. Would definitely recommend them.

From start to finish we had a great experience with Brian and John. The whole team with top notch, talent, experienced and great to work with! Along the way we made a few changes to the plan and Brian was ever accommodated! The team was here on time and yes they worked rain or shine even in the snow! Brian and his team have done an addition of an in-law apartment and several smaller projects for us. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Brian is quick to respond and very easy to work with. His team is always polite and friendly. Their work is excellent and I won't ever call anyone else for help. Thank you JB Cote, your work is greatly appreciated. I wish I had more money for all the projects I want you to do :-)

Called and left a message Monday and did not get a call back. Called again on Wednesday and was told there was a fee of over $100 just to get an estimate for the work. One of their reasons being that customers wouldn't return their calls. Found the reasoning ironic... needless to say I was happy to call other contractors that don't charge to look at a job and potentially earn a new costumer.

The entire team was amazing to work with. The communication was clear and spot on and when they said someone was going to be there they were.

We have just finished our construction project of tearing down an existing kitchen and bathroom and adding a new one in place. JB Cote has been wonderful to work with, explaining everything every step of the way. Starting with the quote process and all the way to the final inspections. They even created a temporary kitchen for us to use during the construction so it really has not been a disruption to our life. They tidy up at the end of each day, are professional, clean, smart and flexible. I can't say enough good things about working with this great company and the wonderful team they have put together. I highly recommend them.

Very professional team. J.B. Cote did exactly what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. They recently redid our garage, including the floor and it looks outstanding. Completely trust their work, the owners and their employees. They have done major renovations for us over the last few years, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors windows etc., and everything they have done has been impeccable. Amazing transformation of our powder room. Who would think that such a small room could become such a statement piece in our house. During the remodel, they found issues from the original construction which they corrected. We are thrilled with our new bathroom and can't wait to have them return to transform other rooms in our house.

Very pleasant gentlemen with wonderful employees. Started on the day he said he would, very quick response for estimate. So neat i was shocked i had walls removed. The put drop cloths through the area and vacuumed everything each time they left. The job was done beautifully. Would highly recommend
