I can’t recommend our consultant Sarah Britt highly enough. I was new to every bit of this and coordinating between multiple family members to get our multi-generational house built on a challenging site. Sarah made us feel like family and ran interference for us more times than I can count. This former drill sergeant will kick a** and take names on your behalf and always responded immediately whatever the time or day. There were plenty of challenges on this build, and we’d have had no shot without Sarah and her team backing us up. The result is a house we are all proud of.
It’s been over a year now since my home was set and complete and I’m overdue in writing to say how pleased I am with both the product and the people who made this home happen. While no construction project is easy or without its challenges, I have to say that I’m very pleased and proud of the result. This is in large part to Butch Mullinix who represented Impresa and walked me through the entire process, giving advice and assistance beyond what his role required. As I sat through the bands of rain and wind from Hurricane Helene high on a hill in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, I didn't lose a shingle, have a leak, no sheetrock cracking from the extreme wind, and no loose siding pulled back even while the trees on my road toppled. Thank you Butch and Impresa for my lovely home!
If I could leave less than 1 star I would. This complaint has 3 parts, 1) Factory tour and upgrades $4,000 total based on upgrades (delayed, delayed, delayed to pass the dead line). Penn West said they would work with us as contained in an email. No credit provided and ignoring my emails providing supporting documentation.
2) Matching deposit fund up to $3,500 from Impresa with emails to support. No credit no matching funds and ignoring emails with supporting documentation.
3) The Set team and quality of construction. The doors were off in the main level, the loft was not square, the knee wall push I bulge in the roofline. The construction manager came to site after the set and walked through taking pictures. He agreed with my contractor's assessment (and the building inspector too btw) that would stand behind this and please have my contractor make the repairs and send them the bill. I did and I kept it as reasonable as possible and only billed them $3,083 understanding there are issues (i.e. roof line) that cannot be reasonably repaired.
It has been 6-weeks without a response from customer service.
DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR WORD, STICK BUILD OR GO ELSEWHERE. BEWARE.
