I signed a contract with Horner after they were recommended by my insurance company, but have had multiple issues.
1) When I signed my contract, I was told that shingles were 6-8 weeks out, and there would be no issues meeting this timelines as they have such a great relationship with their suppliers. After 6 weeks I had to call Horner to get a status, and I'm told it has taken them 4 weeks to even place the order for my shingles. 2 weeks later I'm told they now have no ETA on when my materials will be here, and it will happen "Sometime in the Spring" (contract was signed in September). So this 6-8 week job has turned into a 6-8 month job. After multiple calls to their office to try and get any sort of status updates, they offered a different brand of shingles that are supposed to bring the dates in, but communication is virtually nonexistent from them. Work was completed in April.
2) I had a window pane that was broken by hail, and the insurance company agreed to replace the pane only. When I discussed this with the Horner salesperson, we talked through this specifically and they assured me that they handle this all the time with insurance companies, and would be able to have the whole window replaced. This was included in my signed quote, but a few weeks later they texted me telling they would no longer cover this work and I would have to go to another vendor to have this work done.
3) I had asked for 2 additional roof vents to be installed while my shingle replacement was happening. I was given a verbal quote that I felt was reasonable, and was told this would have to be formalized in a different document from their office as this would be paid out of pocket instead of through my insurance claim. Several weeks later I get a number that had more than tripled from what they told me (and that was with me providing materials) with no explanation.
4) My installation date was finalized with their office, and I made arrangements to be there when it happened. Then, the day before the work was schedule to start, I received a text telling me workers had already started and my date had moved forward. There was no communication to me about this change in date, or confirmation that this was okay.
Also, even though their site lists them as being located in Colorado, of the over a dozen times I've had to call their office to get information I've been routed to their office in Indiana to speak to somebody who very little information on my project. Every time I'm told they've left a note with their project manager or customer service team to call me, but almost never actually receive a call back. If you're looking for a local team instead of out of state storm chasers, be wary.
