While others were celebrating Memorial Day, they were putting a new roof on both our home and workshop.. They did a FANTASTIC job, great communication, on time and left the property spotless.

I tried a few companies for a small roof repair and John was the most reasonable in price and time frame. I was impressed with the quality and would recommend him.

What a professional and efficient team. John did exactly what he said in the offer and followed up when the job was done. My property was absolutely perfect when done- you’d never know a crew had the roof torn off a few hours beforehand. John was easy to work with and I highly recommend.

Not a lot of people like to work with cedar siding. John installed shiplap cedar siding. Replaced decking and repaired some framing rot damage. Communicated well, professional, honest pricing, fast and detail orientated. I would strongly recommend Hopkins Home Services.

I've had HHS over to my property a few times in the past to shorten up the ole TO DO list. John was very knowledgeable regarding my specific projects that I had going on at the time. He explained basically what his game plan would be each time. Gave me very reasonable quotes. He showed up, when he said he would. He did just what he said he would do...and Bob's your uncle!

John did extensive repairs to the back of my house that was starting to rot. He moved and added doors and windows to make it a more functional walkout basement. He also sided the entire house which was amazing and affordable. Added some stone looking design ideas that was just truly amazing.

John did some cleanup work on our property in VT, fixing trails, adding coverts and widening some areas. His prices were good and he got it done in the timeframe that he said he would. He did a great job, I would recommend him to anyone.

The before and after photos attached pretty much explain the 5-star rating I have given. John was receptive and listened to all our wants and needs and delivered on all of them. If you need more explanation follow along below!

Quoting and Product:
John had us quoted on August 27, 2024, we had wanted to get a couple more quotes as you should always do with a project of this size, roughly 2900 sq.ft. John came in about middle of the pack with regards to quotes, he wasn’t the lowest but definitely wasn’t the highest. We decided to go with him because of how responsive he was to our requests and questions. Getting a callback can be hard enough with contractors these days and we definitely took that heavily into consideration. By mid to late September, we decided to move forward with his company for the renovation. Contract was signed sent and signed by September 24th. We got lucky and the Alside Charter Oak in Premium Harbor Blue was IN-STOCK and delivered within a week after our 1/3 contractual deposit was paid. The remaining 2/3 of the quote was due after the project was finished and after we were 100% happy with the result.

The Job:
John’s crew showed up on October 8th and had the entire house stripped and wrapped in Tyvek by the end of the next day. We were completely shocked as multiple other companies said it would take a week to remove the dilapidated cedar shingle siding we were replacing. Over the next couple of days, they wrapped all the trim and edging in custom aluminum coil fascia. They asked questions and made sure we were happy with the plan and how things looked prior to moving forward with each stage. After the fascia they started working on one of my favorite portions of the job which was the awful soffit towards the back of the house. The solution they came up with was absolutely beautiful and functional unlike what it was before. The remainder of the house was sided and various custom vinyl boxes were added for exterior outlets and flood lights. It really pulled together the final product. The project was complete on October 12th, a mere four days after starting. It was incredible watching his crew work with the speed and efficiency they had, especially because some of the other companies said it would be close to 2 weeks to complete the project.

Final Thoughts:
Throughout the renovation I reviewed the work at every stage of the project and definitely had some areas that I wanted improved, fixed or changed. Some of the trim needed to be reworked and the solution they came up with was far better and beyond my expectations. John had absolutely no problem handling complaints or critiques and was more than willing to do anything within reason to make the final product something that we were 100% happy with. I highly recommend Hopkins Home Services for all your renovation needs. From start to finish you will feel heard and valued and that is something that you just don’t get nowadays. They were efficient, experienced and completed quality work in a fraction of the time I was quoted elsewhere. Give them a call, there is zero doubt in my mind you won't be disappointed. We love coming home to our NEW modern home!!!
