Newell and Crathern

Newell & Crathern were called out by CAP to my mother’s trailer for insulation/weatherization.

The team they sent was amazing. They had blown insulation into and repaired the belly of the trailer in 3 days. After finding insulation in the vents they had to come out a couple times eventually to find that one of the vents coming from the trunk to a bathroom had become entirely loose - an issue that no one would expect to be there. They found and repaired the issue in one day.

Newell and Crathern just finished an energy audit and insulated my home. They did a professional job. They kept everything clean and as it was before they started. They were attentive of my cats and friendly. My home is much more evenly heated now.

Also I want thank Newell and Crathern for their professional service. As part of an energy audit they replaced my furnace and hot water tank. Adam and his team were caring of my cats, and were very professional in completing the service. The plumbing in my boiler room was a mess before they started. Now the plumbing is so much more professional looking and clean. Now the access to clean the boiler is much more easy to service, before the plumbing was in the way to take the cover off the old boiler since the plumbing was right up against the boiler cover and required some disassembly just to clean the old boiler, now there is clear access to the boiler for future inspection and maintenance. They were very polite and finished in one day to keep my house warm.

The work was exceptional and the technicians were extremely knowledgeable, efficient and respectful. Would recommend to anyone in need of these services.

Max, Josh, and the rest of the crew did an outstanding three-day job at our home. They arrived everyday in a timely manner and cheerfully squeezed themselves into tiny spaces to install insulation wherever needed. When I asked about insulating an additional 10x10 crawl space not covered in the original plan, they didn't blink twice about adding it to their workload. After they were done they took the time to de-pressurize the home in order to measure their progress. Our previously drafty house is now one third more energy efficient! The attic is now a pleasant place to crawl into since it's the same temperature as the rest of the upstairs. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone who needs to weatherize their home!

After airsealing, they blew cellulose insulation into our attic and applied closed cell spray foam to two walls in our basement. Besides a small problem that they fixed, I thought they did a great job. Given how tough it can be to get a call back from a contractor, their fast response to my calls, showing up when they said they would, and level of professionalism puts them at the top of the list for any future work we need.

I used them for my replacement windows and all of my insulation including spray foam. They were on schedule and helped keep our project on track and on budget. They were very professional and did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend them.

UPDATE AUG 2024:
The guys saw the review update from earlier this year and contacted me to see if they could fix the problem. Evidently, the person who left my door in the shape it was in is no longer with the company, and they have been cleaning up his messes, so to speak, with those customers.
Not only did they come and take a look at the issue to find a solution, they also completely replaced said door, attached the hinge to the opposite side so it made more sense, and left it in perfect working order with no extra charge to me.
I honestly did not think I would ever see this getting fixed and am very impressed with the job they did to fix it.
I can say with absolute certainty now that Newell and Crathern 100% stands behind the work they do, and given this solution, I would absolutely recommend them to a friend or family member to use.

They never did fix my door, and now it is completely broken. Highly dissatisfied

OLD REVIEW (2021, I think):
No call no show on appointment day to fix the repairs they messed up when installing my storm door.
It's just a door, and the repairs would likely take them about 10 minutes, but they are completely non-responsive after their no-show.

I requested and received a foam insulation touch up where a previous contractor hadn't done a complete job.
The job was handled quick, professionally and courteously.
Outstandingly service, I highly recommend this company.

They came to replace our 10 windows. With some physical challenges of my 4 kids remote learning and my home daycare kids they were amazing! Very nice, professional, and safe. They cleaned up after messes. I would totally recommend Adam and his crew!

I would not use them again. They left all the lights on and every door unlocked they used, luckily I went to the house to bring the trash barrels in and caught it hours after they left. I had an entire exterior wall uninsulated which was overlooked during their audit resulting in having the same drafts I had before I called. I work in construction, what I've seen would not be tolerated anywhere I've worked.

I did not remove all the insulation from the wall so not only is it possible but highly likely the auditor missed the wall. I did send a picture to Steve who confirmed the lack of insulation in the wall in the picture I sent two days after your crew was there was my actual issue. It has since been fixed, this was over a year ago. I am more than satisfied with mill city energy. A Warranty would mean you would be allowed back, you're not.

We've had Newell and Crathern on two projects at my house. They were professional from start to finish. They did great work, cleaned up after themselves and were great at communicating the process throughout both projects. I would recommend them to anybody and use them for my future projects.

This company has given us five star service from the begining.
Bill said that they would be here on the nineth and they pulled up to our home. They said it would be a two day job and that was what is was. All the workers were polite and were hard workers, great representatives of their compamy. When the crew left our house they left clean I would not hesitate to call them for any work I would have to do.

Just got home and took a look around after project was completed today. AMAZING work. They went above and beyond, and even went the extra mile on things they didn’t have to do, but could. They cleaned up certain areas that I told them not to worry about, and each one of the employees was extremely personable and talented at what they do. Can’t recommend highly enough, THANK YOU

They came out to my house to do an energy audit for us and then blow in insulation and weatherproof parts of my house. When the original quote was too much for my wife and I to afford, they worked the numbers and jobs around so that they still were able to do quite a bit to our benefit.

When their office misspoke to us on the phone regarding scheduling and caused us a pretty significant headache, the boss himself stopped by our house to apologize, take responsobility, and offer to put my wife and newborn up in a hotel while they worked. To top it all off, the final product cost less than we were quoted.

They were professional in their work and honestly conciliatory when they made a mistake. Great company. Highly recommend.
