I give credit where credit is due. The guy who came out to look at my mother in laws roof was knowledgeable in his own right. But the name of this company is a red flag in itself, and the red flags rang true. 11 square of roof, this man quoted 12k. You would think he was going to re-frame the whole roof for that, but no, it was to tear off 1 layer of shingles, 2 layers of sheeting, scab some rafters, and sheet back, and finish out with some ridiculously expensive shingle and a ridge vent. This home is a single story 800sqft ranch, no valleys, no hips, just 2 sides to the roof and 2 plumbing vents to go around, 1,100 square ft of roof.

When mom in law got other bids, one guy was going to reframe the whole roof, re sheet, vapor, and shingle with a ridge vent and also replace the gutters and soffit for around 7k. Immediately, this tells you how far fetched honest abes quote truly was, considering the amount of work and material figured into this bid that differed from the other. The second bid was from a reputable company and the guy was very knowledgeable, so it wasn't so much lower because of company size or lack thereof. It was an honest quote. The final decision was made to go with a contractor that was not only miles cheaper, but he was the one who didn't try to sell unnecessary and unsolicited options, but that isn't so relevant here.

The issue that we have with this company, with all the above stated, is that this person did not display the honesty the company name suggests. And to top this experience off, this man offered my mother in law, upon confrontation about the significance of the difference in pricing vs work being done, a "single mom discount" with a new total around 10k.

This experience speaks for itself, without adding any further personal opinion to the matter. These are the facts, and I personally advise customers to be careful and try to educate yourself before accepting these unreasonable bids. Tradesmen are entitled to fair pay, for sure, but to have a company with the word "honest" in the name, and try to make a killing on a single woman that lives in a house smaller than some apartments and lives a modest life and had to refinance her home to be able to do this maintenance to her home still working full time to keep the things she's worked for all her life, that's not so honest. It is what it is.

James is very easy to work with. The job was done at a reasonable price. Randy made sure that the work was done to perfection. They even dealt fully with our insurance company

We called to get an estimate, we applied for financing, a man called us back and said it was $14,000 and if we didn’t want that package they were not the company for us.
My husband said they tried to force a sale on him and materials we didn’t want or need!

I don't write reviews but I think this company deserves one. I needed a new garage roof and after weeks of checking out various companies I settled on Honest Abe Roofing. Boy, am I glad I did. They sent James Lee out to see me. He's very thorough and very informative. It was a pleasure to work with him. He will go that extra mile for you. Not only did he get the insurance to pay for the garage but I also got a new roof on the house and new gutters also. This was a blessing because I knew the time would come when the house would need roofing too. I paid the deductible once, not twice. Eric and his men did a wonderful job on the roofs and their cleanup was immaculate. They too went above and beyond their duties. I have spinal stenosis and steps are really hard for me to manage so Eric moved my car out of the way and put it back when they were through. Myles and his crew did incredible work installing a totally new roof on our house on Brighton Drive. I was very impressed by how thorough the job was done, replacing bad boards, using ice gaurd and water proofing material where needed, ckean up as the work progressed. Promises they made re: the new roof were kept or exceeded. Definitely eill recommend this crew to anyone who needs a new roof or repairs after a storm.

James Lee, my roofing advisor, was a pleasure to work with. He was patient and thorough with his inspection, candid with his findings, and patient trying to help me find financing. The Lead Person on the Job, foreman Mr. Myles Harvey he made sure the working crew was on time and done a splendor job. Step by step he explained everything in detail from the beginning to the end. What is really surprising about this company they stand behind their product and work. Our roofing job alone with new installation placed in our attic it was told to us we had mold. Mr.Myles double check in could not find any. Although, my wife and I are getting it inspected by a professional inspector. This business has been the best business my wife and I have dealt with in the remodeling of our home. Not only did they fix everything the previous contractor did incorrectly they went above a beyond to accommodate us with keeping us up to date even when they were going through a personnel change. Mr. Lanier is one of the most respectful and polite contractors we have dealt with with our entire home renovation. Not only did they fix issues the previous contractor covered up they made us aware what he had done and why things needed fixing. They stayed open for communication as well as stayed very transparent with what they were doing. Another gentleman who was extremely nice and helpful was Myles Harvey who came out to help with the front porch roof. Within a day Mr. Harvey let us know what he was doing and had the project finished quickly. Very polite and professional. I highly suggest if you need roofing and or gutters fixed this is the company to use. Wish we knew of this company way before we had work done to our gutters an roof. Extremely grateful for everything they have done.

The most professional company I have ever dealt with. Everything was discussed in fine detail. The crew was there on time and started work immediately. The foreman, Myles Henry great job of seeing that everything was done and correctly. He sent me dozens of photos of the repairs before and after. This way I can be sure that the repairs were being done. During the thing, a crew member was constantly going around the house with a magnet to ensure not a single nail or piece of trash was on the ground. They didn't leave till everything was done, checked and approved be me. There not the cheapest but the "as long as you own your home" guarantee made my mind up. If you need a roof repair. Honest Ade sent out Seth Culbertson, who absolutely impressed me with his professionalism and politeness not only did he make sure my roof wasn’t going to leak before they can get back out to fix it. He noticed my dog and gave him a couple treats which to me was really cool that k you guys for treating us like people and not just another check

Seth was on time, very responsive. He took extra time to explain things fully and answer any/all questions. As far as the quality and value of product, only time will tell but I believe it will be great or I would have chosen a different company/product.
