HOMETEC - water damage, mold removal

Kyle and his team were great to work with! Very friendly, communicative, and helped me coordinate with the folks working on my insulation.

Kyle and his team completed an attic mold remediation project in early March 2025. Kyle completed an inspection and provided a bid quickly. Scheduling was a challenge because of ambient temperature restrictions and the weather. They did the job with minimal disruption and advised us of items that could improve ventilation thereby decreasing any chance of mold growth in the future. They could have cleaned up a little better (could have been a "5"), but overall I am pleased with the job.

We used HOMETEC to remove mold in our attics. Kyle and his team were excellent! They went above and beyond throughout the entire removal process. The communication was amazing and so was the work done. I highly recommend HOMETEC!

It’s been 3 years — for whatever reason, this review didn’t populate so I’ll try it again. Cannot say enough positives with regard to our experience working with Kyle (HOMETEC). The QUALITY of work is second to none and the results have been impressive thus far. Kyle and his team installed an “Encapsulated-Crawl-Space” that cut out virtually ALL moisture and reduced our heating/air-conditioning costs significantly. I’ve never experienced the level of service and attention to detail we received from HOMETEC. The process was painless and the follow-through since completion has been refreshing to say the least. Kyle called during another “Whatcom County flooding event” this year and offered to do an inspection just to make sure everything continues to be dry as a bone. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to do the encapsulation upgrade — we highly recommend it — and more importantly, we highly recommend Kyle…!

**Updated August 30th, 2022. Our sump-pump wouldn’t shut off — called HOMETEC and within 1 hour, he was in our crawl space diagnosing the issue. Float was stuck — fixed it within minutes. We just don’t see/experience this type of “above & beyond” customer service these days**

Kyle (the owner of Hometec) and his team did a fabulous job of restoring our home after extensive water damage and subsequent mold growth occurred. I wanted to support a smaller, local business and we were very impressed by the service and good value we received from them. Kyle kept us updated every day that his team was on site with photos, texts and phone calls as needed. We were out of town during the entire process, which could have been a very challenging situation. Kyle made it easy! He kept us in the loop at every step and it felt like we were there because we could visualize everything through his photos, descriptions, and moisture reading displays. He also helped us manage the insurance process and gave us very reasonable rates when our insurance company didn't cover anything.

We had water damage that involved removing the drywall of an entire closet, drywall in our dining room, and jack hammering all of the tile out of our large dining room and master bedroom. He tested for mold and moisture throughout the house, including taking air samples before and after the remediation. His team did a great job and air levels were below ambient mold levels outside the home once they were done. They were very careful about partitioning off their work area as well, so we felt confident that mold didn't spread around other parts of the house in the process. They also took their time with drying everything out (using large dehumidifiers and fans) to ensure that moisture levels were very low before they left.

Above all, Kyle was a joy to talk to! He was upbeat, took his time with us, explained everything very clearly, and was extremely patient with our numerous questions along the way. His team always showed up when they said they would, they worked with our tenants in a very respectful and helpful manner, and their work was top notch. I hope we don't have issues like this again, but if we need help like this we'd hire them back in a heartbeat!

Reliable and honest. I had a flooded basement. The services they provided were timely as well as personalized and professional. The crew was very knowledgeable about the possibility of mold being present and were able to test and confirm that there was no problem. They were respectful, professional and had a can-do positive attitude and energy throughout the whole process. We are very satisfied and I would definitely recommend these guys.

Our crawl space got flooded while we were in Arizona. I called Kyle at Hometec and he was there immediately. He removed all material insulation and heating ducts.Also put in fans and dried out the area completely for preparation new insulation and heating. We highly recommend Kyle.

Kyle did a great job of communication throughout this project. I had a leak in roof and mold in attic that both impacted a portion of my ceiling. Kyle was able to remove and replace a part of our ceiling that had been water damaged, and also went above and beyond to work around our roofer and insulation team. He didn’t just focus on his task, but also made sure the entire effort was up to his expectations. Also, the bill matched his estimate! Thanks Kyle.

Kyle came out next day. He took the time to really look at what was going on and explain it in a way that we understood. He gave his recommendations on what needed to be done and answer questions.

It is hard to say enough good things about Kyle. My home was on the middle of being flooded - water from a storm was coming in - the roads were blockaded to evacuate people - and he somehow got through to stop the flow. He then worked tirelessly day and night to dry the home so mold couldn’t get started, and to repair the drywall.

Even further, because I live in another state, he arranged to do his work at the same time I had other contractors going out so he could coordinate and advise me on their progress.

It was a major project and besides doing excellent work he was my eyes and ears on the ground. He took the project on like it was his own home. I can’t imagine what I would have done without his professionalism and help.

We had a catastrophic pipe leak on new years day. I called around for an hour trying to find a contractor who could make it up to our large boarding home facility and couldn't find anyone -- until I called Hometec! Kyle was super responsive and came in, on a holiday, in terrible snowy/icy conditions.
He made herculean efforts to get up to our facility (he even got his van towed by search & rescue because the hill was too steep and snowy!). Our facility had no power so he brought a generator. He also brought a heater to prevent our pipes from freezing again that night.
I don't even know what we would've done without hometec. Honestly Kyle and his work partner were amazing, and made it possible to get our power turned back on within 48 hours by drying out our boiler room.
Hometec is now our go-to for all things water damage and/or mold!

Kyle came out on New Years day. Fast, efficient, no overtime charge. He was polite, professional and had all materials needed for repairs. We would highly recommend him.

Our house has two crawlspaces. Hometec has done vapor barrier and sump pump work in one of them, and vapor barrier repair work in the other. Hometec has been an AMAZING company to work with and Kyle (the owner) has consistently impressed us with his impeccable attention to detail and his desire to do the best possible job for us - we feel that he gives our house the same level of care he would if it were his own. Not only that, but he is a truly pleasant guy to be around. He brings optimism and a can-do attitude with him every day. That statement might sound over-the-top but we have worked with several other companies on home repairs, and our interactions with Kyle were the best we could ever hope for.
