Great experience all the way through. Ryan made sure of exactly what I had in mind, offered suggestions, and was very fair price wise. Communication was excellent throughout, he responded right away to questions I had, and was flexible as far as timing and my schedule when we needed to meet. Best part is the finished product. The new enclosed porch looks incredible, blends into the house like it was always meant to be there, and I’ve already been enjoying sitting out there with the lovely windows. Thanks Ryan, and Homegrown carpentry. Great local company, I’ll contact you again for my next project.
Ryan is top notch. He replaced rotten deck boards & many railings on my deck as well as finishing the job staining all of the deck. Highly recommend.
Homegrown Carpentry built us a new deck in June of this year.
I can't begin to tell anyone who reads this how happy we are with the outcome.
Our new deck is beautiful, and is as solid as a rock.
And they came through on a promise: that the deck would be finished by July 4th for a cookout we had planned with the family. Since its completion, every time I walk out onto the deck, I love it.
We were replacing our old deck, which dated back to 1987. It is double the size of most decks in our neighborhood.
Our deck-building team was two great guys, named Ryan and Ryan.
They started by having to demolish our old deck. This took about a day. They cut up and carried the pieces over to the side of the house. I remember looking at the huge pile of wood, and wondering how long the pile would remain on the grass. I was totally surprised when a truck pulled up in our driveway WITHIN AN HOUR OR TWO to pick up all the debris. Amazing coordination of work by our deck-builders!!
During the demolition and building of our deck, we went through a heat wave, with daily temperatures in the low to mid-90s. Despite the blazing heat, Ryan and Ryan worked straight through, without taking many breaks.
Our deck design included iron balusters to go along with the railings.
For this, rather than using factory-made and pre-sized sections, they hand-crafted and custom-made all the balusters. And these balusters really fit tightly and give the deck a really nice look.
At the end of each day, the yard was left neat and clean, with tools and work materials organized and put away.
After the deck was completed, and after a few weeks to let the wood "cure," they came back and applied a
clear sealant to protect the deck.
All in all, a beautiful job, and I would recommend Homegrown Carpentry to anyone looking for a beautiful deck.
P.S. - I know they do other kinds of custom work, and we will definitely be calling them back to help us with a
kitchen remodeling we've had our minds on.
