We are extremely satisfied with the results of our bathroom's remodel including a walk-in shower. All that we wanted was fulfilled. They also offered options based on their experience when we were unsure on choices we had to make.

Terrible service totally unacceptable and doesn’t listen they had someone come out and give me an estimate and everything I said I didn’t want was In the estimate we had a very detailed conversation about the work that needed to be done and that didn’t need to be done and it only appears that the contractor was trying to run up a check and disregard everything and anything i said so this is why I wouldn’t dare use them or Refer them to anyone ever

Anytime we have a home improvement project we first think of Home Base. We have had two additions (most recently 22' x 36' second floor), one bathroom remodel, a patio, deck & a new door wall. ALL have been completed in a timely manor passing the city inspections on the first time. Every worker that has been here has been a highly skilled on there job. We highly recommend Home Base.

I would like to say that all the staff there is super helpful and very friendly. My job was completed rather quickly and I am appreciative of that. However, the quality of work was just not there. I hired professionals to do the trim work in my house rather than doing it myself because I wanted it to look nicer than I'm sure I could do. However, looking at it, you would never know it was professionally done. The cuts are bad, there are gaps in the corners, there is caulk all over my walls, there were also areas they forgot to caulk, and my floors were unbelievably messy when they left even though they told me they were cleaning up. I have a hard time writing a bad review because of how kind they all were but I feel the need to be honest for others looking to hire. I only went with this company because they had good reviews so I would like to save someone else from making that mistake.

With Covid it took almost 1 year to have my bathtub removed and replaced with a Custom tile shower, new shower doors, shower fixtures, and painting of the entire bathroom. It was worth the wait. Home Base did a great quality installation and it looks great. I highly recommend them.

Home Base remodeled out '70 style bathroom. We received an estimate from them and was told it would take 1 week to complete. The work was great, the worker Adam was wonderful and it was completed in a timely manner. AND the amount was the same as the estimate. Very satified with them and will use the again for anything else we decide to do. Great Company!!

We understand your frustration. We do schedule work and material deliveries that don't come as expected due to weather, material shortages and personnel getting sick.
We also have experienced schedule delays due to jobs that were being completed before your job, being delayed for the same reasons.
Its been a tough year with the COVID-19 pandemic and all.
That being said, your job is complete we do appreciate your business and your understanding.

Had Home Base do five doors (3 entry and two screen) and some vinyl siding and window trim work. Best quality of work on the doors that i have seen and the siding turned out perfect. Todd is an honest and hard working owner and is always accessible. I intend to have my basement done next, and will use Home Base for sure.

When things are supposed to happen make it happen, been waiting over 6 months for a garage to be built. I understand some things but when you tell a customer one thing hold true to your word. I wish I could say I would recommend you but with just concrete poured I can’t. Also told supplies would be delivered and nope not delivered. Update to the Homebase Saga a piece of siding fell of both sides of house, the first time fixed it no issue, then all of a sudden the one piece they fixed fell again and because I didn’t notice it until my neighbor pointed it out ( faces his house )I called about it and after a week and a half got a call back ( within the week and a half more pieces fell off because of winds and now I’m told there will be a charge) mind you we’re still under 2 years of completion date. I wouldn’t recommend them to an enemy of mine. Maybe just maybe The owner will step up and I’ll adjust my review but for now it will not be changed

I have come to use Home Base when possible. They built my garage (which was great) and now they have built the roofing saddle between my chimney and roof. (See attached pictures.) I appreciate their professionalism, value, and responsiveness.

The 10 year warranty for the work they do is a real assurance (even though I have not personally been able to comment on using this).

I do worry constantly with roofing and water issues hioe this saddle helps. Even though I worry about the cut where the saddle weaves with the roof (see pics) I feel confident if an issue arises I will be in good hands with Home Base Construction.

Wonderful staff and top knotch customer service. Their prices are competitive and the detail to work is exceptional. I was informed of timelines throughout the process, and they always took time to address any concern. I had a hallway built connecting my home to the 2nd floor loft in my garage, and it looks like it was always a part of the house. Beautiful job and skilled professionals who strive for perfection and works with the customer. I will use them again without hesitation.

Darryl and Randy installed our new tub and did an awesome job with the tile work. Can't even tell where they patched drywall, we love our new bathroom!! Definitely will be in contact in the future for other work. Prices are reasonable and they are super flexible. Thanks homebase crew

The timeline we were given was absolutely on target from start to finish. The staff from the foreman Chuck to the receptionist Helen especially Adam to did a superb job. The workmanship is top notch. We had Home Base, Inc. install columns to our porch last year. We were very please with their work and much more with the cost of the work and product. So, naturally, this year were had them install railings to the porch and the porch steps. Once again the cost and the quality of the work performed was excellent.
We did our business with the Lincoln Park, Michigan location. The office staff was so polite, professional, and easy to work with. The folks that came out and did the installation work were also very professional. They came, immediately started working and did an outstanding job.
We are very satisfied with our experience with Home Base, Inc. and have already recommended them to a few friends.

From the estimate to the finished product. Very professional. I can’t speak to the price as I didn’t get any other prices because your company was so highly recommended by two friends who get multiple prices.

I had a bathroom toilet that overflowed and leaked in the walls and ceiling downstairs. Todd of Home Base was very responsive to getting my quote. Home Base did an excellent job in replacing drywall and painting. Also I had work done in the bathroom replacing ceramic tile. They did an excellent job there too. I would recommend.

We have just get done staircase at our rental property in Lincoln Park. Joshua is Salesman who work for Todd. Since they have a Store Front so they look very professional but In reality not good at all. They play dirty tricks in middle of job to raise price and did with us by raising price unreasonably in the middle of job! After completing the job, they failed the final inspection by city of Lincoln Park. Multiple nails are open and ready to injure the residents on staircase! I have shown those nails to Mr Joshua at time of making Final payment and he promised to send some one to fix it.Hopefully he will do it. They have bad business practice to make more money by raising price than originally agreed during job by different Excuses and loosing their Credibility and integrity overall. Job is completed unprofessionally and that’s why it failed the city inspection at first time! We shall suggest them to believe Honestly is the best policy. The Staff , Ms Amber and Ms Elisa are very polite and friendly. All negative reviews are true and we do not recommend them to anyone unless they correct these things. Hopefully, this feedback will help Mr Todd and Mr Joshua to lead to Fair Business practices and earn respect and prayers from their customers and make more money! Thanks.

I needed my sunroom roof repaired, skylight removed, drywall repaired and my chimney needed several bricks replaced. Todd and staff were able to provide me a quick home review and quote. A few weeks later we had the repairs complete and my family could not be more pleased with the work that has been done. They were professional and courteous every step of the way. I would recommend them to anyone.

They do good work and the prices are fair. Built me a porch and remodeled my bathroom I'm satisfied and mr Todd is great to work with.

My experience with Home Base was a great one. I was looking to update my bathroom in my condo and get a new doorwall installed. I walked into the showroom and the owner Todd waited on me. He took the time to show me the different features I could possibly get. He personally came out and did all the measurements for my job. He handled everything for me. The workers who came and did my doorwall were on time, so very respectful of my home. Covered everything up and cleaned everything up before they left. My bathroom was the same way. The workers who did it were always here when they said they would be, laid down a plastic runner and left it the whole time they were here. My bathroom looks amazing and I am so very happy with it!
The staff and the workers are very nice and easy to work with!

When I called about the warranty, it took them 3 weeks to fix the shingles. Then I had to call again a out the windows and again never received a call back , so finally after leaving 3 more messages I was told that unfortunately the windows weren’t covered because the company they used went out of business. So even though the contract from HomeBase states lifetime warranty on all new vinyl windows and They guarantee the best workmanship and quality products !!! I was basically told there is nothing we can do, sorry. I’m still waiting for Todd to call me back.. it’s been about a month total now. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone that wants Quality service and quality work !!!

We used Home Base for a pretty extensive addition to our upstairs and had a wonderful experience. We got everything we wanted and Home Base gave us the best price of anyone we got quotes from. Also, the crews that worked on the house were all very tidy which was important to us because we stayed in the house while the work was done. I would recommend Home Base to anyone!

Terrible experience with this company. We had them put in an addition two years ago and the initial construction was a disaster with terrible scheduling (told me someone would be out, wait all day and no one show up. Not tell me someone was coming and would come home to find the electricians waiting, then they would call and yell at me for not being home.) They forced us to pay the owners family member an outrageous price for hvac and that company didn't pass inspection 3 times. The inspector told us to never use that company again because they weren't following code. The front office was so horrible at setting up schedules that the contractors got my husband number and he ended up acting like the Forman and the contractors and my husband spoke directly instead of going through office because both sides were sick of the screw ups. It was miserable. They broke through our living room ceiling and wanted to charge us to fix it. The plumber sawed through our existing bathroom wall and again, tried to charge us to fix it. The drywall guy mudded it but its was never painted. I was 8 months pregnant at the time of beginning construction, 6 months later of a 3 month project, they finally finished, with mess ups in the roof(there's now some bird cage thing on our roof because they read the prints wrong and didn't do the stairs right, a bump out in the dry wall because, again, they read the prints wrong and didn't put in a doorway.)

Now two years later and after all this heavy rain twice our kitchen has leaked until finally the drywall crumbled and we found out they never caulked the roof line where the addition met our original roof. They have put us off for over two months in fixing the drywall that their screw up caused. Our kitchen drywall has mold and they keep putting it off letting their drywall guy come out and fix it. We are going on almost 3 months here with mold on our drywall and studs, and they keep making excuses on why they can't fix it right now. We now have an appointment for him to come out after 3 months of waiting and calling the front office to get them to schedule an appointment.

I would NEVER recommend this company. The front office is incapable of scheduling and Todd is not a truthful businessman who pinched every penny out of us that he could.

Was not happy with the bad work they refused to fix, I worked my last payment until they fixed the problems, they never did and said I would not be covered under their warranty. Why would I think if they would do the work right they would honor a warranty. I do not recommend.

Love love, our new bathroom!! Contractor was efficient and thorough. The whole staff was kind and accomodating. Our bathroom was a complete demo, and all done in a timely fashion.

UPDATE: We have finally moved into the addition area of our home. It has been very stressful because the windows let every little sound through. I can hear my neighbors 24/7, I hear motorcycles at 2 am... literally everything. I have written Home Base 2x about our warranty and have received zero response.

Absolutely the most unprofessional company we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Unfortunately, we didn't know that until after we signed on with them and were halfway through our $20,000 project. We wanted an addition, basically the company was going to pour the foundation, build the walls, put in the windows, and roof just the 20x20 addition. Everything else was going to be our project, running electric, dry wall, flooring, siding, so basically they were getting the "shell" of it put on to the house. It has been a nightmare. We had to have them send someone out over 3 times just to get the windows level, brand new windows that they just pounded in any way they could to fit them in and the windows would not open or shut properly, finally they sent out an actual window installer from a different company to fix 3 of the 4 windows they put in. They left my yard a disaster with they're drink bottles and garbage, there is chunks of cement down in my grass that we can't get out because they just let it dry all over my yard.
The Worst of it is after paying them over $20,000, we found that they put the wall in for the bathroom door in the wrong spot, now we have to figure out a way to move the section for the door or we won't be able to actually hang a door because it won't open.
Putting up the drywall has been incredibly infuriating. What you can't see until you try to put up a straight piece of drywall is that the walls are crooked. Not 1 piece of drywall has gone up straight or flush with the walls there is always a gap because the walls aren't put up correctly.
I would NOT recommend this company at all. I am going to the BBB with this. It has been the worst. Their incompetence has made our 6 month project turn into over a year. It has been terrible.

Todd the owner is a man of his word. I have had good experience with HOME BASE on several projects. If I think something is not quite perfect, they are ready to make any modifications needed to ensure my satisfaction. I would also note that twice I have had emergencies with my home and Todd has sent his team to the rescue immediately without hesitation to protect my investment. I decided to give this company a chance after reading the negative reviews. I should've listened to the reviews..I called multiple times to get someone to come out and get an estimate. Finally Todd's son in law comes out to do estimate. He said he would have estimate done within a few days. I waited a week & called. I called 5x (son in law) to get estimate. Home Base was suppose to do my kitchen (a very small job less than 5,000). I finally called Todd to see if they even wanted my job & what was going on. He went over estimate & son in law left out most of the things he was suppose to do for kitchen. Todd told me that his son in law didn't think Home Base would want to do the job.( I'm guessing since it was such a small job). Todd said he would come & redo the estimate himself. He did come out & do estimate which added on extra costs that son in law "forgot" to add to estimate. SMH!

I was told since it was such a small job that it would take 1-2 days to complete & that they would fit me into the schedule since it was so small. I waited a month after cabinets were ordered & called Todd. He told me to call him back next week to see about putting me into the schedule.I called every week for a month straight getting the same BS excuse about not being able to fit me in & to call back the following week. I knew he was blowing me off for bigger & more expensive jobs since he wasn't making much money off of my kitchen. I finally got tired of his flippin excuses & told him I wanted to buy the cabinets & have someone more reliable to do the job.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE HOME BASE EVER!! THEY ARE A INCOMPENTANT COMPANY. I SHOULD'VE WENT WITH MY 1ST INSTINCT WHEN I READ HORRIBLE REVIEWS ONLINE ABOUT THEM.1ST STIRKE~ THEN WHEN SON IN LAW DIDNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT HE WAS DOING. AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO CALL ME BACK AFTER HE GOT 5 MESSAGES FROM ME. 2ND STRIKE. AND FINALLY WHEN TODD THE OWNER BLOWS ME OFF FOR 4 WEEKS!! -3RD STRIKE!!

I've read other responses from Todd responding back to the negative reviews people gave & he states that those people were disgruntled employees that use to work for him. I am not an employee just a single mom who wanted to help a local business.

My daughter and I wandered into the Home Base showroom in January 2012. We wanted to get ideas on having a bathroom and powder room remodeled. This was to be our first of many contractors we planned to "check out". I knew what I wanted, and had a criteria list that was important to me. We met with Todd, the owner and had a very nice discussion about what could be done. When we walked out of the showroom, I had many brochures to review. Several weeks later, we arranged to have Todd come to our home and take measurements for our project. This was completed in a timely manner and once again, my husband and I met with Todd to discuss the project. I was impressed that EVERYTHING was spelled out in writing as to what our project would entail. Quite frankly, Todd has the patience of a saint. We changed our project so many times, and each time Todd would present a new proposal, and yes, it was spelled out in detail as to what we would get. Still being cautious, we obtained a second estimate. It turned out to be one of those hand written proposals that really don't say much. We gladly signed up to hire Home Base. Our double bath project started in May.

Here is where the unbelievable happened. Our project was started exactly on time, all of my supplies had been ordered and had been in storage at Home Base until the project started (which we delayed for 8 weeks). In the meantime, we had Home Base side our home and replace the gutters. Still getting compliments from everyone who comes to our home about the "Fantastic Job" that was done. Getting back to the bathroom. We wanted it perfect in every way. It had to be structurally sound and beautiful. The finished project exceeded my highest hopes. It was amazing the care that the crew (especially, Daryl) took to protect my property, clean up every day, and ask my opinion whenever possible. I actually had a choice on where he put the handles and knobs on my drawers and cabinets. While installing the shelves in my cabinets, he once again asked me where I would like them. Awesome person to deal with. I was concerned about how Home Base could do it all. I pictured a group of Larry, Moe and Curleys being Todd's brothers and trying to do "It all". Not the case. Each person and company that came into my home on this project were, indeed, an expert in their field. Ironically, the plumber Home Base uses was actually "Our Plumber" for the past 8 years, and yes, he is the best! When the project was completed, I had a small punch list of things to be changed. One door would not close over my rug, so instead of Daryl coming back and sawing it in my bathroom, he removed the door, took it outside to saw, and then brought it back in so that I would not have a mess to clean. One tile looked lighter to me, and once again, Daryl removed it and replaced it with one that he let me pick out from a handful be brought. You just don't get that kind of service anymore.

Finally, if you are considering Home Base, please ask Todd for my number so that you can see the stunning work you will receive. We had permits pulled with our city, and each inspection passed with flying colors. The project was completed in 8 days!
