Hilton Garden Inn Clarksburg Bridgeport

The hotel is a very nice hotel and very quiet.

Lobby- has a bar and a kitchen. A small food menu to pick from. Breakfast is also there. Plenty of tables and chairs for you comfort.

Rooms- We stayed in a double queen Mountain View bed on the 5th floor. You also get a gas station view, if you are on the left side of the hallway. Rooms are spacious. Although they are kind of dirty, the comfort of the bed and soft chair make up for it.

Workers- Cleaners seem to be nice and on task. The first night we were there, the bartender was extremely friendly and nice.

Pleasantly surprised how nice this place is. Everything was clean and in good repair. Bartender was excellent. You can walk up the hill next to the parking lot and get whatever you need at Walmart (which was also unexpectedly nice for a Walmart ), and there is a pretty dank sushi/Thai restaurant right there, also walkable! Other restaurants in the area as well, but mostly American food, chain type stuff. Parking is free.

The parking spots are so small, that we had to back our compact SUV out of the parking space to open doors on both sides. On the plus side, the breakfast staff was excellent. Very attentive and helped out with our family meal. The front desk staff, not so much. I was disappointed in this HGI.

Excellent stay as always. Every time we need a hotel in the Clarksburg, Bridgeport area we book this hotel. They're getting rid of their pool but it's still an excellent hotel to stay at. Will continue to book rooms here when we need to.

Google Maps is just useless here. It reports that it has a pool, It does NOT any more. And there is no editing option to try to fix this error.

Pool and spa permanently closed. Apparently some kids were rough-housing so badly that the ceiling came down.

Room is clean and spacious. Frontdesk lady is nice.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Only thing that was unclear was whether breakfast was included in price or not. Indoor pool was the reason we chose this location as opposed to others in area, however, it was closed and not listed as closed on website or explained by staff. Might have chosen another location, had we known.

Positive: Nothing. Very disappointed with our experience at Hilton. Negative: Our first room was dirty, floor was sticky. Switched rooms. Originally booked the hotel for amenities, none of which were operating. The pool, hot tub, restaurant, and lounge were not open. I cancelled the second night we had booked and went elsewhere.

The rooms were spacious, modern, clean and well executed. The location is in a town which has a lot of restaurants and fast food restaurants/cafes to eat in. The location was perfect for my cousins wedding celebration... very intimate and scenic.

I liked this place. I had a nice clean room which was good sized with a big tv. AC worked well and the staff was friendly. It's close to eating places or you can get a limited menu on-site. Only complaint was lack of housekeeping which was every other day so I only had it once for a week stay.

The big man bartender is wonderful. He’s very protective of solo female travelers. I’ll keep it at that. Thank you, Sir!!

All right, absolutely great staff and great hotel. The rooms were immaculately clean and everything was in its place. RJ, Danny, and Ruth Ann are gems! Wonderful people who have a heart for service and make it look easy. 5 Stars!

I have found that within the Hilton brand, the pools and hot tubs are mostly out of service, down for maintenance, or 1 or the other isn't working.

We booked this location and had to call and cancel after arrival (used hilton honors) also there where 2 other locations within 30 minutes that are the same brand/chain without pool/hot tub in operation.
Disappointed with this brand overall in the last 5 years.

Very cute and clean hotel! The rooms are updated and spacious. They also have a great selection for the market area, with locally made crotchet items

We stayed here January 1, 2025 deciding to try to beat the pending snow to come next day. We did miss most of the snow but got a little snow and ice. We were driving to Florida and this was a good stop point for us. OK Breakfast to get us going and appreciated as most restaurants always off a breakfast with overnight stay.

The room was comfy. Low rating as room was not thoroughly cleaned. Empty rum bottles were in drawers, perhaps left by the previous guests and a beer in the fridge. Other than that, the staff were polite, and the hotel was in a great, central location.

I saved for this trip to relax Christmas Eve and Christmas Day by myself since I am alone during the holidays.I specifically researched hotels in the area and picked one that had all the amenities I wanted. The most important one was the pool. I enjoy swimming so much and it helps with my health issues. I called the front desk before I left my home two hours away to make sure the pool was operating and fully functional and was told that it was. I’m there for about an hour and decide to go swim. To my surprise, The pool was not on and was ice cold. I was told maintenance people were off during the holidays (understandable ) and no one there knew how to turn it on. I was basically just stuck in a room by myself and I could’ve done that at home. Manager did refund my night stay Christmas Eve. She did apologize, but with an attitude and told me people don’t book hotels for the amenities, they book to stay in the bed. Tried to make excuses for everything that went on and made me feel I was the one at fault. Was planning on staying Christmas and Christmas night, but found myself heading back home on Christmas Day. To say my holiday was ruined is an understatement. Oh and the tv kept tiling.

We have been using this hotel for our West Virginia trips for over 3 years now. They just recently had a renovation and it's even better than it was before. The staff is super nice and always willing to assist with all your needs. Free coffee and hot chocolate all day and the buffet breakfast isn't too shabby for 7.99 kids, 12.99 Adults. The pool and hot tub is always a big hit with the kids. Plus being right next to a giant shopping center is pretty sweet too!! Highly recommend!!!

Kiely made sure I had a terrific dinner in their restaurant, and drinks since after driving all day I didn't feel like looking for and driving to a restaurant. | Fantastic renovated room with the best shower with lots of really hot water. Worst night of sleep in my life. Don't stay in room 507. The electrical room buzzes so loud I got no sleep before I called the front desk at 3:45 am. They offered to move me rooms but it was 4 in the morning who wants to pack and move at 4 am. This was a known problem at the front desk. So why put a tired late check in that room? Unsatisfied customer and me and any of my team will ever stay here again after the I don't care attitude of the front desk. That's evening/night/morning! I spoke with you all!
Don't stay in room 507.

This is a second review of this property, and this time I'm giving it another star--up from 4 to 5--because it seems my earlier concerns were addressed. The staff--with one exception--is much friendlier and helpful. Housekeeping is better. The pool and spa are very nice, and the hot tub was (appropriately) hot this time.

I was given the a rate and charged different. The room rate changes each day. They charge a 25 incidental fee. This is not disclosed. Left after 2nd night of a 4 night stay. I was charged for 3 nights. Called and reported it but they denied it. I called customer support and was told they could not help. Had to end my trip short because they then over drew my bank account.

Room was definitely clean and ready. Staff was friendly and location was close to the highway and at the end of the shopping plaza strip.

My recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clarksburg, West Virginia, left a lot to be desired. While I’ve enjoyed stays at other Hilton properties, this one fell short in several areas. For instance, breakfast cost $14 per person, which I found quite steep, considering that about 85% of Hilton stays provide complimentary breakfast, including all my previous stays. Even getting a simple bottle of water was a hassle; despite being a Silver member, my partner had to insist on the perk.. while in every other Hilton stay prior I was provided free water to drink.

I also found it concerning that the housekeeping staff are instructed to disregard the "Do Not Disturb" sign every other day. Privacy is essential to me, and this intrusion is unacceptable. Moreover, the overall experience didn’t reflect a four-star standard as advertised. My partner and I won’t be returning to Hilton Garden Inns, especially when other similarly priced options offer better experiences and more thoughtful service.

On a positive note, the room was very nice with a decent Appalachian view. And it is near plenty of restaurants.

Love this hotel. General manager is amazing. She helps with anything you need. Pool and hot tub are fantastic. It’s worth the extra buck for breakfast. New updated rooms is always refreshing.

This place is the worst. They charge 14.00 for what most all hotels offer complimentary. The rooms do not have a kitchen, just microwave; and the fridge is so small there is only room for a few cans of soda. The hot tub was down. The floor was a mess. What are they charging normal rates for. This place is a money grab, and needs to close its doors. There are so many other places to stay even in Clarksburg, WV.
SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Upon arrival I was greeted at the door by a typed note stating “Large Vehicle Parking not available” it further stated that if your vehicle takes more than one space it will be towed. I asked the desk guy what to do and he told me that “You should just be able to park it at the furniture store.” I assumed they have some sort of agreement, but that’s not the case. I awkwardly walked in and asked, to be told that they don’t really like it (parking in their lot). After an agreement, I then had to walk with my suitcase up a hill, through a gas station, finally to get to the hotel. How is that a solution? Nowhere on the website does it state I can’t have a large vehicle… I’m moving across the country in a box truck, where the hell am I supposed to park it? Hopefully the furniture guy is more accommodating than the people in the accommodation industry…

Room was nice though

Very nice hotel and easily accessible along the I79. Room rate was very reasonable and 2 queen bedroom was exceptionally spacious. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and not busy at all. Would stay here again next time I’m passing through town!

Customer service was excellent. First person we met was Justin. He was so welcoming and friendly. Every time we saw him he was so polite. This hotel was pet friendly and I have a small dog and I love that he actually got down and played with my dog anytime he saw me and him coming through the lobby ❤️! ||Second there was Maddy. She took our breakfast orders and was just as polite and friendly. We had a big group and had 4 rooms, she interacted with the kids, and definitely met all of the adults needs. ||Justin and Maddy stood out and made our stay even better!||The rooms were clean. The pool and jacuzzi was nice. The pool could of been a little bigger but the kids enjoyed it. The lobby was also clean, comfy, and nice. We played some family games the first night and enjoyed the bar. Lots of shopping plazas near by, great location.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn while traveling through W Virginia and found the accommodations quite satisfactory from the check in to the checkout. The hotel and rooms were clean. Ruthanne at the desk was very friendly and helpful. We decided to just grab something to eat at the hotel because it was late and the service and food were outstanding. India our server was very helpful and spoke to chef RJ regarding the need for a gluten free meal. Not only did he accommodate but actually came out to talk with us to be sure of what was needed and wanted. He went above and beyond what was expected. Will definitely stay there when passing through again.
