We were delighted with Highland Ridge and their renovation of our bathrooms. Allan, our project mgr, managed a talented crew of sub-contractor craftsmen. They were professional, trust-worthy and consistently showed up on time. The tile work and custom cabinetry is flawless...so glad we choose them!

Quality Assurance, Built Right the First Time.

My wife and I had three top priorities. First was to have a Partnership through the Design Build process and not just a General Contractor to come, create a plan on what they thought they heard and attempt do the work. Second was to achieve excellence and high quality as I also come from the general contractor industry myself and as many of us know and hear about there can be some bad experiences. Third was to make the addition not look like a remodel or an “add on” to our home.

The Preconstruction phase was seamless and there was never any financial or schedule pressure from the team to get the project started. Chris, Erich and Ed are amazing and listened to our ideas and thoughts. . . even after we rung the project award gong bell so hard that it made Ed jump in another room, it was a bit deafening :). Working with their Design Partners they developed multiple concepts prior to us making a decision on the final design. They were patient with us through out the process and created multiple estimates for us to consider and evaluate. The handoff from Preconstruction to Construction was again seamless with field management Aaron, Felix, Aaryn and John as well as their Trade Partners. All were extremely professional and respectful. Aaron did a great job communicating daily of what is being done and what to expect throughout a given week. Jobsite cleanliness was performed every day and not leaving a mess behind is as important as building the project. Carpentry craftsmanship and attention to detail was excellent and the final product blends and matches into our home beautifully. The home addition does not appear as “an addition”, one cannot tell where we added on.

It is always a pleasure working with a Quality Build contractor and is hard to find. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering or wanting to find the right contractor. Even if it’s for a consultation you will not go wrong with getting the opportunity to speak with a professional about your project.

Tried several times (email, text & phone) to get in touch & when someone finally returned my call, their only question was whether or not my project would be at a minimum of $30K, & if not they were not interested! I had some really creative ideas to do a remodel of my kitchen.. They might do good work, but their ONLY focus is money!!! So disappointing!!

Highland Ridge just finished up complete redo of a bathroom for us to make it ADA compliant. It was a complicated design in a small space. We were also under substantial time constraints to get it completed. Highland Ridge stepped in after another contractor had dropped the project and did a spectacular job for us. They completed the project exactly as we requested, and for the amount originally bid. Their website helped us keep track of the progress they were making, and what was happening next. And every one of their employees was kind and gentle and easy to work with. We are really, really happy with our new bathroom and with Highland Ridge for making it happen. I would recommend them to anyone for any type of home construction project.

Highland Ridge did a great job! We have a 110 plus year old house, and it came with some interesting challenges. Highland Ridge and Aaron our project manager did a great job in addressing those issues. Our newly remodeled kitchen is a joy and we are very happy and will highly recommend them!

We had lots of problems with our remodel we added an ADU behind our house we had to do extensive plumbing throughout the entire process Aaron was absolutely amazing knows his stuff honest guy won't lie here tells you the truth he's fantastic Eric in the office that's a whole other story He's kind of a slippery snake so overall the job got completed it looks really nice and my mother's very happy living there My advice would be if you're going to go with highland ridge ask for Aaron and stick with him he'll get you through it in one piece

Allan was the lead for our remodel project of two bathrooms left "as is" from 1976. Two months later we couldn't believe it. Everything new except 2 toilets we had replaced. We couldn't be happier. Communication couldn't be better. We always heard right back and Allan's attention to detail was above and beyond our expectations.

As a realtor, I use many contractors, but last fall with the discovery of a roof leak in my own home, my husband and I now needed to face a remodel/restoration ourselves. He was exceptionally detailed and yet still accommodated those areas of the project that my husband wished to tackle himself. Working with contractors on a routine basis, I understand that issues do not always go as planned and recalls happen, but Felix and his team never had to be called back once to redo anything on this project. After a severe winter storm, we had some major flood damage to our home. Highland Ridge did numerous restoration and repair projects for us. This included plumbing, drywall installation, painting, sub-flooring, carpeting, tile repair, cabinet replacement, lighting and more. All of their subcontractors were highly competent, well-organized and professional. Aaron, our project manager, did a superb job keeping it all together and on budget. We could not have been happier with this company and would give them 6 stars if we could.

Highland Ridge is amazing! They were SO professional, meticulous, kind, consistent... I really cant say enough good things about them.

I did a lot of research on multiple companies before wanting to settle on a contractor for my remodel work, which is a huge commitment - with both time and money. It took me a few months and I met with about 4 or 5 contractors before deciding to go with Highland Ridge, and I finally decided to go with them because they are a local, family-run business and it was clear that they pride themselves on doing things professionally. They kept me in the loop and asked for my feedback every step of the way, always making sure that I was happy with the choices before starting the work. In addition to being very personable, they were also the only company I had spoken with that used a program (Buildertrend) to keep track of everything and keep me informed of what was going on as it was happening.

Considering that contractors are in your home all day for weeks at a time, I believe that trust is also a huge component in being satisfied with the work that is being done. The guys were beyond professional and respectful, and I absolutely trusted their judgement, as well as trusted them in my home. They also worked with me to make sure that we stayed within the parameters of the budget we discussed, which was another thing that was important to me when I first decided to remodel my house.

I love looking at my closets and bathroom, knowing that I had 100% final say on the way that everything is designed and how it functions. I will absolutely be going with them again the next time that I want any remodeling work done - and it is honestly such a relief to have a team that I can trust to work on my home.

Did you find the PSA process beneficial? Yes I did. I had a pretty well developed idea of what we wanted to begin with, but there were many details that needed to be decided. Andrea was a great help with that. Either her ideas were just what I was looking for, or she could send me in the right direction to find the answer. The 3D renderings she sent over were super helpful. I don’t know if HR has replaced her with another designer yet, but if not they should. Her skills made a substantial contribution to the positive outcome of our project.

● Did Aaron run the job well? Yes, he did. He is pretty unflappable and patient. Also thorough in his communications and well organized. He gave me enough time to make decisions and get my preferences and choices to him, and was great about checking with me about details, rather than just making assumptions. I really appreciated that - I had a lot of very specific ways I wanted things done, and I never felt like I was asking too much or making too big a deal out of anything.

● How was the Buildertrend experience? It was fine. Easy to use. Good for general schedule keeping, but not detailed enough to replace check ins with Aaron. The daily logs are kind of fun to look at. I mostly used it as a marker for where we were but didn’t expect much more. Lots of the features never seemed to be updated.

● Were our guys on time and professional? They are certainly professional, very skilled and do beautiful work. We are very pleased with how it turned out. There was a permitting issue that caused an eight week delay in what was supposed to be about an eight week project, so the question of timing is a little muddy. But after that interruption things seemed to progress quickly without too much down time. I give credit for that to Aaron - I could tell that it was his priority to move it along. And I also want to say that during that work stoppage, Erich and Aaron did a good job of keeping me updated and responding to my questions about progress. I was so grateful you all didn’t “disappear” during that time.

● Did the project come in on budget? Yes it did - well done! Yay!

After working with other contractors over the years, we expect bumps during the remodeling process. Our Highland Ridge was virtually “bump-free.” The experience we had with the Highland Ridge Team during our kitchen remodel was excellent. From planning to finish, we felt Highland Ridge was always working with us as well as for us. Our Project Manager Aaron Welch was exceptional. He was consistently on top of the project, available, and ready to address any of our questions and concerns. He was extremely helpful when negotiating with subcontractor change orders during the process. And most importantly, he had our kitchen ready for Thanksgiving. The Highland Ridge Team worked hard to ensure they met our tight build schedule. Highland Ridge’s professionalism and expertise ensured we were able to build the kitchen we envisioned. We highly recommend them (5 Stars plus) and will definitely use them again for our next remodel project.

So glad we had Erich as our project manager. Erich did an excellent job and was fun to work with. He took pride in having things done right and went out of his way to make things right. He and the other workers and staff were very responsive, professional, and easy to work with.

The PDA process worked well. By the time we got ready for construction, we felt like things were detailed well, and we were comfortable to go ahead and build. Using the Buildertrend platform was a big help from beginning to end.

We are both busy full times working parents who decided to build ~1400sf addition in the middle of the pandemic. I ended up interviewing 5 different contractors for this project and from the moment I met Chris, the owner I knew I wanted to work with his company on our dream addition. From the very first engagement, Chris was transparent, gave us preliminary detailed estimates, offered a good honest advice and I knew that Highland Ridge was the right company for our busy family. We had our own licensed architect who provided all the plans and schematics and she also felt that Highland is the best choice!

Someone told me once “ treat you contractor like this is a short-term marriage- and we have had the amazing experience during the duration of the 6 months project. Once we finalized the final bid, we were provided a Program Cordinator, Stefanie, who was wonderful and kept us informed on permits and scheduled subcontractors to come out and bid a project, we also go a Project Manager, Erich, who kept us informed about all upcoming jobs and it was in constant contact with us via email or text. As we run into small issues, Erich was right on top it and making sure the communication between us and Subs is timely and accurate. The Builde Trend program used by the company is wonderful, as we had detailed view on when each subcontractor was going to start, we had a view to all documents and schematics, pictures and detailed pricing. This is the best tool you can ask for the project, easy and intuitive to novice people like us.

The project stayed mostly on schedule, but we went over budget, given the unpredictability of doing this project in the middle of pandemic and we had scope increase in the middle of it and Chris was comfortable to adjust to scope.

If you are looking for a piece of mind, honest company with hard working crew- Highland Ridge is great choice! I am happy to be a refence point and provide pictures of their work.

We added a covered outdoor patio space by extending a gable end of the house and adding French doors. The team at Highland Ridge was a breath of fresh air from the very first meeting. Our project mattered to them. They kept us informed every step of the way and were always prompt in responding to questions. The project manager and the construction crew were always on time and courteous, and the care and quality of the work was excellent. We'll be calling Highland Ridge again for our next home addition/remodel project. You should too!

The design process and ideas were great. Aaron communicated at every step of the build process, any hiccups (as all construction has) were talked about and handled easily.
The finished covered area is more than we expected and turned out beautiful.

We met Highland Ridge at the 2019 Remodeling Show. We ultimately chose them to remodel our 3 bathrooms because of their honesty and longevity in the industry. Within the last 5 years, we had our kitchen remodeled by a different local contractor, who went out of business during our project. After that experience, we did a lot more diligent upfront research, interviewing multiple contractors, reading reviews, looking up CCB records etc. I cannot emphasize how much easier this process went for us this time around with Highland Ridge. They did not go over budget, they did not extend the allocated time of the project, and they did fantastic quality work. We appreciated Maria, the Project Coordinator with her eye to detail, and support and speedy communication during the upfront design and selection process. Aaron, our Project Manager worked tirelessly to keep the project moving along while managing covid staffing and supply chain issues. We did hit some unforeseen "snags" along the process, and truly appreciated the problem solving solutions and efforts made to keep us satisfied. Lastly, they use a database to communicate called BuilderTrend. This was a great resource to us as we could see the schedule, and all communication and documents such as our contract and selections were there. Progress pictures and daily logs were noted in this database. This was really helpful, as we were managing working remotely (at home) during the remodel. Now that our project is complete, we are sad to see them go. Smiling faces, professionalism, integrity, and quality work are characteristics really appreciated during this potentially stressful process.

We are very pleased with the work that Highland Ridge provided for us. They are professional, on Schedule and most importantly “do what they say they are going to do”. The bathroom remodel they did for us is absolutely beautiful! I have already recommended to them to other friends that are considering having remodeling work done.

We had an interior remodel job that involved turning an open loft space into a bedroom. The folks at Highland Ridge were enthusiastic about the job, very clear and up-front about cost estimates- as the job got underway they really took time to stay in clear communication with us and to make the process as painless as possible. We decided to go with Highland Ridge after meeting with a few other builders in the area and are so glad we did. They helped turn a partially walled off “bonus” room into a bedroom, complete with heat, a closet, and huge window. The team was timely and respectful even given the added precautions taken due to COVID-19. They were extremely competitive in their bid and did not go over in cost or time. I would highly recommend them for any remodeling needs.

Working with the team from Highland Ridge could not have been a better experience. Our family purchased a 2,200 sq ft home that had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an office. The downside was that about 900+ sq ft was dedicated to a spa room. We have young kids and needed another bedroom, so we looked at transforming the spa room into more living space. When looking at contractors, we happened upon Highland Ridge, and were impressed with all the positive reviews.

We set up a meeting with John to discuss concepts and get a rough quote. From the start, John put us at ease with the process, and helped us to flesh out our concepts into a working plan. We decided to move forward with the project. Throughout the process, until the work started, John was always accessible if there were questions or changes that we wanted to make. Ed Miller, the office manager, was phenomenal at putting together for us an organized project portfolio that outlined the project phases and selections.

As the project progressed to the demolition and build phase, Aaron Welch took over as the project manager. During every step of this phase, Aaron was always great with keeping us up to date with progress, deadlines, and issues. We never felt like we did not know what was going on during the project. The Highland Ridge construction team did an awesome job and were incredible workers. The sub-contractors that Aaron and John brought in to do specialized work were fantastic and met expectations for quality that we were hoping.

Our spa room remodel turned out better than we had hoped. It went from being a rarely used 900+ sq ft room with a jacuzzi and semi-functional endless swimming pool, to an area we use every day. It now is a semiformal sitting and dining area with a conditioned 370 bottle wine cellar, and a master suite (bedroom, large bath, and walk-in closet). Thank you to John, Aaron, and the Highland Ridge team for the incredible work. We hope to have you back when we remodel our kitchen.

Highland Ridge took our 1948 bungalow and turned it into pretty much a brand new house. New hardwoods, new roof, about 600 square feet of addition, remodeled 1 bathroom, added another, added a master suite and dining room, new kitchen, new siding, new paint....everything. Chris and John came to give us an estimate and they were spot on and didn't go over budget (and this was a big job). Erich was our project manager and all of their attention to detail and willingness to fix even the smallest of mistakes was a rare and appreciated quality. Things that I was uncomfortable to bring up because they were soooo minuscule they would catch before I could even say anything and it was fixed. I've worked with dozens of contractors. These guys are simply the best I've worked with.

They rebuilt our deck last summer and we are still so happy! Very communicative and more than willing to address our constant questions. If we ever need anything else done we would call them first for sure.

Helped us make the best use of a small bathroom footprint giving us better space, storage and safety as we age. The remodel design fits smoothly into the original house design and looks great.

Highland Ridge did a first class job on my project, in all respects. Their professionalism, management of the project, attention to detail, communication, and quality of work was exemplary.

We discussed the scope of work in a single on-site meeting, and within a couple days they had a comprehensive plan and estimate developed. I gave them the go-ahead and they took it from there. I made a number of changes as the project progressed, and they priced those changes fairly.

We hired them to do a full kitchen remodel, a master bath remodel and minor updates to two other bathrooms. They were easy to work with and I especially liked their project software. We were on the same page from day one! It was easy to upload our selections and know when they were going to perform all of the different tasks.

They came in on budget and quicker than they had estimated as far as the timeline was concerned.

You couldn't find a better, more honest and hard working contractor. Chris, Ed and their team have done numerous large jobs for us...basically remodeled an entire 8000 sq ft house over 8-9 years. They are the best!

Where can I begin? Chris and his team are extraordinary, not only for their excellent construction skills, but also for their cheerfulness at work, their ethics, authenticity, manners, punctuality, and general professionalism. When my bathroom project ended, I was sad to have to say goodbye to the team. It was a pleasure to have them working in my home. I am thrilled to have my new soaking tub and efficient new toilet. I will hire them again when I have a project to do.

We recently had Highland Ridge Custom Home Remodeling do a large job in our 1983 suburban home. They did a beautiful job on our kitchen including reconfiguring, raising the ceiling, taking out a wall, custom cabinets, flooring, all new countertops appliances, paint. The results are fantastic and impressive, it looks like a new home. In our master bath they also removed walls, reconfigured, tile and glass and half-wall shower and a soaking tub with more custom cabinetry, countertops, flooring, all of it. Everything looks lovely. The 4 stars, rather than 5 is due to a lot of small things that came up here and there over the course of the remodel; it went a little longer than planned, there were some issues with the countertops and tile, a few sub-contractor mistakes. Our project manager Erich did a 5-Star job handling all these issues though. He did not consider the job done until we were happy. We felt that he had the project under control and moving along throughout. He was friendly, professional and genuine. Overall we are satisfied with the job they did and would recommend them for large-scale remodeling.

We had a major kitchen remodel on our older house. We had the room torn down to the studs. Even though none of the floors were level, or the walls square, they did an excellent job of fitting all of the cabinets and fixtures. The work was done on time, even though we changed our design several times. Erich was very helpful and kept us informed throughout the process. Our work was so extensive, it took 8 weeks to complete, and the workers did a great job of protecting the parts of the house that were not being remodeled. Chris went out of his way to make sure the crown moldings would fit, even though the ceiling was not square. Chris and Erich really listened to what we wanted in our design and worked with us to make it happen. I would definitely hire them for future work.

Since having our kitchen done, we had Highland Ridge remodel our bathroom, install recessed lighting in our living room, and build a patio extension for our well house. We are very happy with how things turned out. The post and beam patio cover was a nice feature to our outdoor living area.

Hands down the most professional and competent contractor I have ever worked with. Before I hired Highland Ridge to remodel our bathroom, I had been dealing with another contractor who would sometimes take a month or more to respond to my inquiries. After eight months of frustration, I decided to call Highland Ridge. They appeared at my house the following week and got me on their schedule shortly after that. The entire job took only a few weeks. Ed Miller, the project manager, was amazing. Every aspect of the job was scheduled in an online portal that I could access to see what would be happening each day from start to finish. If the schedule needed to be adjusted for whatever reason, Ed made changes in the online portal immediately. I was never once in the dark about what was going on, when to expect something, who would be showing up at my house that day, etc. On top of this, Ed was amazingly responsive to all texts and phone calls (same day), and absolutely everyone on the crew was polite and professional.

What's more, I was concerned our bathtub install would be complicated and expensive because pipes had to be relocated, and we had to drill into a concrete floor. The previous contractor expressed reservation about this at the start (which made me uneasy), and also said he would have to remove half the tile in our bathroom to do this. But Highland Ridge took one look at what had to be done and confidently said they could handle it, no problem, which put my mind at ease. They were also able to relocate the pipes by removing only three pieces of tile (three!), saving me tons of money in tile replacement costs. And it gets even better - Highland Ridge's overall estimate came in 35% lower than the previous contractor.

Seriously, they were like a gift sent from above. I will ONLY use Highland Ridge on any remodeling projects going forward. Can't recommend them enough!

Highland Ridge, with the help of my decorator Susan Green, completely transformed my master bathroom that was sorely stuck in the 90’s. My husband and I had Highland Ridge do a patio cover and a shower remodel on a previous home and their work was excellent. So, it was an easy decision to hire Highland Ridge to do a major remodel and new extension and garage for the 1925 fixer upper we purchased. Chris, Ed, John and crew are very professional and more important, trustworthy. Also, the subcontractors they hired, including the interior designer, are top notch professionals. Chris was there from the design process until the completion of the project, 18 months later.
This scope of the project was huge and included a kitchen, two bathrooms and basement that were remodeled and an extension with a master suite, family room and office. The old garage was torn down and a new one constructed. Through out the process, Chris kept us updated via email, photos and FaceTime.
With a big project, such as this one, we did have a couple of hick ups, and Chris immediately informed us and offered constructive suggestions that corrected the problems and stayed within our budget. Our finished home is wonderful, with excellent quality and craftsmanship. I highly recommend Highland Ridge without any hesitation.
