We had Herzog Construction install a new architectural comp roof on our home in Cannon Beach. Within two months of installing the roof, we lost several shingles, although none of the homes around us with older roofs had lost any shingles. When our General Contractor started installing the shingle siding, he found our roofer (Herzog) had not replaced rusted flashing. When I discussed this with Herzog I was told that it is typical to leave the flashing and it didn't need to be replaced (even though the roof was 27 years old). We were also informed by our General Contractor, that is is standard practice to install stainless flashing and D metal....which was not done by Herzog. We hired a new roofer to replaced the flashings and metals on our roof.
