We first met Brian Hefferan in 2009. He was referred to us by a family friend who was a tuck pointer. He said he worked with him a lot! Brian fixed a leaky skylight that was on a rubber roof that the original installer installed wrong. Fixed it perfectly! When we needed a new roof and gutters, we of course called Hefferan Roofing again! Again, wonderful job!
We recently noticed a piece of fascia was drooping. We called Brian Hefferan and asked if he could come out and give us a quote to fix it. He came over the same day! When he arrived, he pulled out his ladder, climbed up, took a look, came back down got his tools and said he would fix it right then! No charge! He then explained that they had not been the original installer of the fascia but since he was there he just fixed it! This is unbelievable customer service! I can tell you we will always be calling Hefferan Roofing for all our roofing needs!

Hefferan Roofing was a referral from my neighbor. Mike and his crew did a fantastic job. They worked efficiently and completed a quality job in one day. Hefferan Roofing replaced our roof this week. Mike and his team did an amazing job. They showed up as scheduled, worked all day and cleaned up every last piece of debris. Can’t recommend this company enough! They installed a new roof for me 10 years ago and ANYTIME I needed help, they HELPED! First time they helped was when I needed chimney flashing and they came out right away and didn’t charge me a dime! Just recently I noticed a small leak in a bedroom and Mike came out the next day and fixed my issue and again, no charge. This type of “old school” customer service and commitment to standing behind their work and HELPING their community is rare these days. Thanks for all your help, Hefferan Roofing!

Based on the many positive reviews and number of years in business I used their website to request an estimate. Mike came out to look at my roof, answer questions and take measurements. Returned soon after with a proposal and shingle samples. I accepted and worked with Mike on scheduling. Everything was done as promised and Mike came back for a final inspection . No deposit required, payment due when work completed to your satisfaction. Would not hesitate to work with Hefferan Roofing again.

Upon the recommendation of good friends, we contacted Hefferan Roofing to replace our 23-year-old roof. So glad we did. Pricing was very similar across contractors, but what impressed us about Mike was he was very responsive without being pushy. Gave us a straightforward opinion without being alarmist. We needed a new roof and Mike came out in December and gave us a very reasonable estimate, we signed the contract and Mike and his team came out last week and installed the roof! I was in need of a roof replacement. I reached out to several companies, but Heferan stood out above the rest. Mike came out and gave me an estimate in the matter of 15 minutes. No fluff, answered all my questions and scheduled me early to ensure that I didn’t have any further leaks. Mike and his guys were punctual, thorough and cleaned up well after the job. I was very pleased with their work.

We talked with several roofing companies in the Northshore area after having hail damage last spring. Mike Chrouser was extremely timely with his responses, a great value for the work and always available to answer questions. We selected Hefferan to complete our roofing work which ended up starting early. Mike moved around their schedule and completed the work in one day (Good Friday). They started at 7 am and were finished by 7 pm with a complete roof removal and installation.

We were introduced to Heffernan Roofing about 5 years ago as part of a home renovation that needed our upper roof replaced. At that time, Mike and his crew did a great job, and we were very happy.

Fast forward to this past April, when we called Heffernan once again to replace our whole roof, due to a hailstorm that came through our area. Mike arrived within a few days to give us a quote, recommended a color that looks fabulous on our house and scheduled a time for his crew to start. His crew covered the ground with tarps, were polite and worked very hard to get the job completed. We had skylights replaced and the installation was perfect. AND CLEANUP WAS FANTASTIC! I was introduced to Brian Hefferan, Hefferan Roofing many years ago. At the time I was living in Arlington Heights and had heard of his company through word of mouth. I hired them to tear off and replace my shingle roof. The job was done in one day with respectful employees and complete attention to detail throughout the entire process right down to a thorough clean up. Since then (approx 25 years ago) we have moved twice and hired them to do each of our roofs. The latest one was a larger project which also included siding, gutters, soffit and fascia ! I cannot say enough about their professionalism! Although Brian didn’t personally handle this latest project, his employee Mike was just as friendly and knowledgeable and handled all aspects of the project with just as much attention to detail as our other two. Had roof tear off and replacement and new gutters. I was extremely happy with th final product. There was an issue with flashing damaged during install. Mike made it right. He made identical flashing, shape and color, and did the install himself. Also, I saw a few things I wanted done with the gutters but wasn’t able to talk with the Adam beforehand and he saw the same thing and addressed it without me asking him to do it. Very professional finished product on the gutters.

It is great to see tradesmen who take pride in their work and do an excellent job. Hefferan has pros who really know their stuff and the ability to articulate the project to the client.

It's hard to walk away from something as expensive as a total roof replacement feeling good, but, that said, my experience with Hefferan Roofing was absolutely as good as could be. Communication was thorough and timely. Multiple samples were delivered to my home, to ensure I was happy with the color of shingles to be installed. The price for the whole service was well within reason.

Since I had my roof done at an unpopular time (winter), I had the full crew at my disposal. Thus, they must have set a new record for how quickly the work was completed. The old roof was removed and the new roof installed in practically no time at all. It felt like Santa's elves were working magic up there!

A serious effort was made to protect my yard from debris (though I will say, I wish they would have thoroughly moved back the heavy stones they used to hold down the tarps). All in all, this whole process was about as painless as I could have hoped. Thanks very much for the outstanding work! I would certainly recommend Hefferan Roofing to friends and neighbors.

Being my first time having to get a roof replaced, I am extremely happy and satisfied that I selected Hefferan Roofing. Mike has a wealth of knowledge that helped me to navigate the entire process. I had gotten three estimates and Hefferan was a very well priced and honest quote with no gotchas or hidden costs. On the day of installation the team arrived early and got the job done efficiently in just one day. One of our potted plants had cracked when it was bumped by a ladder, but Mike immediately let us know and offered to replace it and even went to the hardware store to find a good replacement for us. Clean up and prep was a breeze too, the Hefferan team really took care of it all.

Mike was very responsive to our concerns. He kept us advised at every step. We had a roof tear off, installation, gutter removal and installation and skylights replaced. The most amazing thing was how clean my house was after the completion of the work. I cut grass around the house and there was no absolutely no debris anywhere. Not a single nail anywhere. It was a pleasant experience and I would use them again.

We just recently hired Hefferan Roofing for the second time since we purchased our house in 2014. The first time was to put on a new silver coating on the part of our roof that was a flat rolled roof, and this time to finally replace the whole roof of our house and detached garage since we knew it was on its final days and was missing a couple shingles, including all new gutters, fascia, and soffit. The house is a split-level, where half has shingles and the other half is a flat roof, whereas the garage is all shingle. The first time we hired them, I was impressed with their work and professionalism (not to mention cost). This time, I was impressed even more.

We had four different roofing companies come out to give us an estimate of the work a couple weeks back. I came across Hefferan originally due to recommendations from two neighbors on my block, and wanted to get a few other estimates to compare. In the end, it came down to two, but I decided on Hefferan because of their openness and honesty that I felt was a step better than the runner up (and much a lot better than the other two), as well, surprisingly, even being on the more affordable end. Because of this, we were able to get a little more done that we wanted, that we were expecting to not be able to afford this time around.

Mike at Hefferan was more than happy to answer all the questions I had, and really spent a lot of time with us to make sure we were happy. He was also very quick to respond by phone when I later thought of other questions to ask. He assured us that unlike many other roofing companies in the area where it takes them days if not weeks to finally complete replacing the roof (and often requiring them to leave a large garbage bin in the driveway for days), his team could have both the house and garage’s roof not only removed, but completely replaced the same day! Though I was skeptical, he was right! They showed up just as expected at about 7am on the day we were scheduled with 9 workers plus Mike. Astonishingly, they were all packed up and driving away just before 1pm! They were very methodical; you could tell they’ve all been doing this a long time and all know their “stations” and what needed to get done. They were thorough with the cleaning as well, and Mike came and went numerous times throughout the day to ensure everything was going as expected, and even jumped in himself to do some of the work. He was also great in double and triple-checking all the work (for the roofing, as well as soffit, fascia, and gutters), and even was proactive in telling one of the guys to redo a bit of soffit work that wasn’t up to par to his standards.

They set the expectations that the roofing work would be finished in one day, and that all the aluminum work would be done in a following day, and they met the set expectations.

When Hefferan came out to give us a quote and show us different shingle coloring options, they even supplied a sheet of paper with dozens of addresses (double-sided!) of recent work they’ve done just in Mount Prospect alone, so that we could see what each color looked like in person.

To wrap up, I highly recommend Hefferan Roofing for any of your roofing needs. Whether that’s maintenance of an old roof, replacing a flat roof, shingles, fascia, soffit or gutters, they can do it all and very efficiently and professionally. And even without breaking the bank. They’re very reasonable and competitive, and I can only speak very highly of Mike and the whole staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent and honest workmanship. The roofers are very polite and respectful. They work quickly but donwonderful work. Mike is on site often and responds quickly to questions. The exterior grounds of our home now look cleaner than before they started!! I can not recommend them more highly.

Mike and his guys did a great job. They replaced the facia that was rotten before the gutters went on at a very reasonable price. The roof and gutters were both very reasonable as far as price! They did a quality job also! That's what you want. If the price is good, but they do a shotty job, what's the point? Great communication too. I recommend them highly. Thanks Mike and the whole team!

They did an awesome job on my roof back in 2002. Complete tear off and replacement with Timberline architectural shingles. Clean, efficient, timely. Price was not cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Flash forward to 2016. Just last night, I had an issue with a leak from the storm - 14 years later. Mike came out today, the day I called, and found an issue around my fan and recaulked around a loose nail. No charge. Problem solved. Great work, great service and they back up their work.
