Hamshaw Lumber Co

This place has really really rude customer service. I asked if there was a catalog for pricing or if I should expect to see the lumber labeled and I was met by a really rude stare that lasted about for uncomfortable minutes. Followed by a rude sound, and then another coworker laughed and answered for them. I’ll never shop here again.

Customer service is great and they have a pretty good selection of products. The store is very small and has limited hours, but when you can find what you are looking for, it's great!

I was surprised by how much this place had in stock. Being in Orange MA, there is very little in the way of big box hardware stores within 40 minutes in any direction. That's why I was happy to have found Hamshaw Lumber and find what I was looking for in stock there.

Typical small store hardware store.... great service, friendly staff... but a bit more expensive than the big places like Lowes... homedepot.... But that's to be expected when they don't move as much inventory. But the convince is nice and they also deliver for locals at a reasonable price.

Every time I go to Hamshaw Lumber Ace a hardware, I always find what I'm looking for, and it's so convenient . The staff is on top of helping you before you can ask, always pleasant no matter if it's first thing Monday morning or last thing Friday night always ready to help you get what you need to finish your project in a timely manner best thing if they don't have it and if you really want and need it they will help you get it in a reasonable timely manner. They have a wonderful inventory with flyers and very helpful service personnel. As the old saying goes, you never know until you ask, you might be surprised.

Most the employees are friendly and helpful. I can almost always find everything I need and delivery is available which is helpful.

They are home in. Ed by 5pm, but if you get there early, they have at least 1 of EVERYTHING. Reminds me of the old general stores.

Staff was very helpful, I had things to purchase for a new dryer (vent hose, outside louvered dryer vent, caulking supplies & the correct nails)
I will definitely shop here again for my hardware needs!!!

They have just about everything you need with the best customer service. They are readily available to answer questions or get you what you need.

For the most part, good customer service, and usually have the item you need. Prices are pretty good, they sell good quality tools (except for their Collins axes lol). Their lumber prices have been beating the large local box store for some time now, so I'm definitely supporting local. Once and awhile you'll go there and everyone's grumpy, but still I'm pretty happy that I'm near this place.

There is always more to discover at Hamshaw's (Orange) Ace Hardware and Lumber! I am always impressed with the variety of home and professional products available. Go in and discover for yourself the goods you need to work that project!

This is a local and gd 'ol fashioned "family owned" hardware store and lumber yard. If you live in the immediate Orange, Erving or Athol vicinity it can save you a trip to the "big box stores" (the big L or the big HD) which are quite a ride going either east to Leominster or further west on Rt2. The cost differential is negligible, easily recovered by NOT having to drive to these other stores AND the QUALITY of the lumber is MUCH better here, without having to go thru an ENTIRE lumber pile to find the "non-hockey stick" gems. Evrytime my wife or I have gone here, we have been given personalized (rather valet type service) in being helped to find the particulars of what we sought, whether it was just lumber, sheet goods (like plywood, various grades to even PT or marine grades, which are IN STOCK!) or just hardware inside the store. To make a note of when i was looking for flashing for a rather odd sized roof sealing project, the clerk helping me was more than willing to take me to the warehouse and we took time to individually select the bulk rolls to make sure i was getting EXCATLY what i needed without the waste. Very positive experiences here , all in the last 2 years ! Reccomend this store as your LOCAL "go-to"! Would you rather spend your time on Route 2 driving to the bigger stores (try to get the TYPE and level of service offered here, over there!?) to save a few bucks or be on the job getting the project completed!?

I got paint and they fixed the screen for my door! Good job! They are kind and knowledgeable! I always go back!
