With any project we do, I always try and get at least three quotes. I am SOOO glad I got a quote from Hammersmith. Were they the cheapest? No. Were they the quickest? No. But were they the ones who did a quality job, with the best communication and an eye for details? Heck yeah! I am VERY happy with the end result. I mean, this is your ROOF they are working on! Update 9/23/23: our roof is leaking in the area of repair (which we are able to see now after photos were sent in July). We've lived in this house almost 30 years with no leaks, definitely not satisfied.

Tried this company after seeing all the 5-star reviews only to find them to be very disorganized and not thorough. Sent two checks to the address on the invoice, the same address listed here and it's not their current address. After repeated requests for payment a new check was written after we paid bank to stop payment since Hammersmith wouldn't cover this charge. Very disappointed in the level of service; we never had a walk-through when the work was completed so cannot speak to the quality of the work we can't see.

I cannot say enough good things about Hammersmith! They came out promptly after I submitted a request, and the service advisor, Derek, was very thorough and provided a number of options to fix my roof leak, but I opted for a full replacement since the roof was of unknown age.

I got a number of other quotes, and Hammmersmith were far and away the best of anyone who provided a quote. One company didn't even come out to look before giving a quote, another said it was my gutters (for a leak halfway up the roof....), and the final one was twice the cost.

Hammersmith was able to get the work scheduled while I was out of town and I came back to a perfect new roof and spotless work area. I have no problems recommending them to friends, family or anyone who asks.

I would highly recommend Hammersmith's. They were the only company that actually figured out the 'source' of my leak. Other companies just looked at the flashing and said "that's your problem". Given the upcoming rain, they worked me into their schedule to repair the nail hole in the shingle. Had I used other companies, my flashing would have been re-caulked, but I still would have had a leak! I felt like I was dealing with a company that really cared about their customer. Derek was a delight to work with and Justin was very responsive.
I'm likely going to need an entire new roof in a few more years and I'll go straight to them for the work.

As a first time homeowner, I could not be more pleased with the care and service from Hammersmith Roofing. I have been very nervous and cautious learning the ropes of homeownership. From the initial estimate and communication with the team to the day of service at my home, I was impressed by the ease and quality of the work. I was prepared to wait a couple weeks for service given the busy time period but they embodied the phrase “under-promise and overdeliver.” They were able to get out to my home and repair the roof so quickly. While at my home, I made a couple additional requests, and they were able to accommodate and address the change orders quickly and without issue. Additionally, while working on the roof, they identified a couple other issues they could remediate. I was so thankful for their service going above and beyond to make my new home safe and all fixed up.

They replaced the roof on my restaurant. Really worked around my schedule, and the rain, to get it installed. They coordinated w/ the electricians to move my Equiptment temporarily too. They made it easy and the price was a great value. Excellent work. Really great temporary patching too that stopped the leaking while they got in materials. All accurate quotes, times, and nice people too.

Hammersmith did a wonderful job repairing and replacing the roof on our home and our garage. They were quick about communicating changes to the invoice due to fluctuations in materials costs as well as additional materials and labor cost due to dry rot they encountered in our garage. Hammersmith completed our roof inspection and the necessary repairs quickly and and affordably. They are very responsive via phone, email, and text, and did a great job keeping me informed of scheduling updates and their progress during the repairs.

Hammersmith's work was $2,800 less than another quote I received, and include a more thorough check of my roof and a more feel-good experience.

We have two types of roofing and live in a very old home, and Hammersmith had specialist for each roof come to ensure the job was done right and quickly! Hammersmith Contracting was referred to me to fix a roof leak. They were able to fit me into there schedule very quickly. Kelly their project manager was very professional and responsive to my emails. The workers were knowledgeable and professional, they fixed the leak in no time. Originally called Hammersmith for a roof leak. Upon making the repair, it was pointed out that there was a fair amount of wind damage to my roof. As soon as I was cleared for a new roof via insurance claim, Justin had a team ready to replace my roof on the first day of good weather.

We used Hammersmith for slate roof maintenance and replacement of a flat roof, and will definitely be using them again for any future work. The system they use for scheduling appointments is very easy and convenient. Justin was wonderful to work with. He’s knowledgeable and trustworthy. His quote was half the price of another company, and he was clear about what needed to be done and why vs optional work we could do for aesthetic reasons. His quote was also extremely detailed in describing the work that would be performed (down to the type of nails and screws that would be used), which gave me confidence that Hammersmith does things the right way. Justin provided pictures of the finished work, and we believe it is high quality. There was one issue where the old roofing material was not removed right away (apparently due to miscommunication between the slate crew and flat roof crew), but Justin had it taken care of ASAP when we notified him. Finally, they use Quickbooks for billing, which made that process easy and convenient. Highly recommend Hammersmith for any slate or flat roof repair or replacement.

Even with all the rain we have been getting, they were able to get us in quickly and finished the roof within a day. The guys did a great job on the roof and also cleaned up after themselves and did a thorough sweep with the magnet for any metal that could have fallen. We have not found any debris on the ground. I had this company do some repair work that was caused by shotty work from another company. Justin showed me and explained exactly what happened and what was needed. When I needed work on my rental property I went back to Hammersmith. On my rental property I had him do repair work on the main house and put a new roof on my garage. Justin is fantastic. I have used hundreds of companies through the years on various homes and I can honestly say Justin is one of the best. Detail oriented, responsive, quality work and reasonable. I always know what I'm getting and when it will be completed. He follows up and checks behind his workers. Highly recommend.
