Gray Line Roofing

Called Gray Line on a Saturday morning following a heavy storm on the friday night before and indciated we lost maybe 10 shingles from the heavy winds. Newer house - only 7 years old. He tried to find a tech but no one wanted to come out on a Saturday so we made an appointment for Monday at Noon for which Tyler (owner) said they would be out here and get us taken care of. The person who came on Monday at noon was in a Jeep. No ladder on the truck to access the roof. Walked around from outside on the ground. Told us how beautiful our home is and then started to pitch solar panels to my husband. Said he would write an estimate to send us within an hour. We were expecting the repair not an estimate or a solar panel sales pitch. Got a text message quote within the hour - $1500 to replace the tiles that tore off and to inspect the roof AND wanting to again pitch us solar panels. This price supposedly included our 5% military discount. I declined the work as being far too much for what is needed. He then said they could bring a drone to fly over an assess. WHAT? I declined any further work and was informed their minimum price is $1500 for any work they do and the liability blah blah blah - also kept telling me they had to go 3 stories up? We have a 1 floor ranch with a Room over the garage. Definitely not 3 stories up. I managed to salvage the time we took off from work and got a different roofer out to my house. He inspected GOT ON THE ROOF. Inspected the damaged area, and the rest of the roof. All we ended up only needing 5 ( not 10 ) roofing caps and absolutely nothing else - the roof is in great shape. He was at my house less than an hour. Total cost came in below $250. I called back to the office after I got the quote and left a message for Tyler requesting a return call. Didn't get one. Called back a 2nd time today requested a call back. No response. So a ridiculous high, rip off quote and then ghosted by the owner (?) who wouldn't even call me back. Can't say I would recommend this company. I see lots of great review but definitely can't endorse the same experience. If it was a $1500 minimum - should have just told me that on the phone and we could have not wasted everyones time. Also - $1500 for a $200 job is ridiculous.

To address the company respone - I received the return call AFTER you saw the review was posted. Thank you for the call but that was because I gave you a bad review and not because of the situation as it was occurring. Additionally - the after the fact conversation offered to "fix the situation" which I declined - because as my review indicates - the issue now has been fixed by someone else already - so since this was a very minor repair and has now been fixed - there is nothing else for me to have you do - so there is nothing at this point for you to do in regards to "righting the situation". It was simple - we had a very easy, very simple, very inexpensive repair and we attempted to get those services from you which turned into a fiasco. I was able to get someone else to show up, get the work done in less than an hour and we are now good to go. No more work to be done. And the recount of events - on the phone on Saturday and regading the quote were with me and are very accurate. The recount of events on site when your sales person - not a repair person showed up -are verified and accurate not only by my husband but also by ring camera footage :( To state AGAIN has we discussed on your call we declined solar panels from an actual solar panel contractor a couple years ago because they aren't something we are interested in pursing - so my husband didn't initiate a solar panel sales pitch from the roofing contractor we called out for a roof repair. As previously mentioned I endorsed your 5 star review - part of why I initially called your company, but sadly I can't endorse that it was the experience I had. Your after the fact call to "make it right" was a little late and as we also discussed was more about the review you wanted me to change.

Finally, a good night's sleep during nonstop rain. Everyone knows an entire roof replacement is a huge deal. Calling different companies, Google searches, etc. After several calls and a few quotes, there was no better company to take on this job. From the moment I called. The rescheduling the initial consult to the work being done...it was an incredible experience. Everyone was easy to work with. There was no hard sell, they truly wanted to do what was right for me and my investment. Gray Line Roofing truly earned every star on this review.

Stephen walked around my home, did a through inspection, and advised I needed a new roof. Walked me through the cost and made sure I got my military discount and had my roof done by the next week. My roof was fixed in a day. The team came in and did the work and cleaned up when they were done.

Quite simply, The Best! We could not be happier with our results from start to finish. From Rob, who was canvassing our neighborhood, to Roger who explained everything in terms we could understand, to Tyler who managed the actual install, this team is quite simply the best. Rob was incredibly respectful when he stopped by our house. Roger was thorough and answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns upfront. Tyler was kind and helpful, and proud of his crew for very obvious reasons. His crew themselves were great also, they waved at and engaged my son when he shouted up a greeting to them. The actual product is stellar. It looks fantastic, and after a solid night of rain the craftsmanship is apparent, as there were no new leaks, and old leaks gone! We were VERY impressed that the crew was able to fulfill their promise to get the job done in one day. The day before our install, a neighbor began a roof replacement project with a competitor roofing company. Their job ended up being a 3-day install for a similar amount of roofing, and the dumpster stayed in their driveway over the weekend before being picked up. For our project, materials were delivered the day before, and all other supplies the day of the project. The team did a wonderful job cleaning up the nails and roof debris from our yard, with Tyler himself doing a final sweep to make sure everything was properly cleaned up. This was important to me, since we have kids and pets who spend a lot of time outside. All in all, we’re are so happy with our new roof, and would recommend Gray Line Roofing over any of their competitors. Thank you so much Gray Line, you are the best!!

10 out of 10 recommend. The lead on the job covered up my husband bike so it wouldn't get dirty. They got both the house and our garage done in one day. They cleaned up and even went through the yard to make sure there were no nails. Price was great and and the warranty is better!

The work was started quickly, done well, and finished quickly. The roof leak was fixed and the staff was very responsive.

Very professional and fast. Cleaned up all extra or demoed nails and shingles. Showed video proof of work. Great price for great work. Only suggestion is that if it’s hot the crew needs to bring water!

True professionals, timely communication, they understand when there is a leak, there is no time for delay and repair was completed as scheduled. Highly recommend.

The folks at gray line were absolutely amazing. I called them to get a quote and within a few hours they had gotten back to me. They were prompt to give us a date that was as soon as possible and they were quick. The roof came out looking beautiful, all trash and debris was cleaned up same day.
