Good Energy did a great job installing all 30 of our solar panels in time for our move into our newly constructed house and did a great job answering all our questions along the way. Our new solar system has worked without even the slightest hiccup since installation -- despite five major electrical storms since (including a direct lightning strike 50 feet from our house) -- and is more than sufficiently powerful to meet all our needs. Our Sep electricity bill was 50 cents, and right now it looks like we may be running a surplus of electricity (which means a net credit on our bill) for October. Good Energy even sent someone to our house to help us get our Enphase online monitoring system up and running when fiber optic Internet capability, newly-installed in our rural neighborhood, was initially unstable. Good Energy Solutions responded quickly and efficiently to my need. My inverter went out and my installer was out of business. I needed some rewiring done. I had a work crew here to panel over insulation in my garage when we realized that the wiring needed to be moved. Good Energy Solutions came immediately and got it done so that my crew could do their work!

I wanted to prepare my house for EV cars in the future so they upgraded my house panel and installed 50-amp outlets with oversized 60-amp rated wire for future EV charger direct wiring. When passers-by previously asked who did our solar panels (half on our roof and half on an aluminum frame mounted to the house), I would enthusiastically endorse Good Energy. This experience, however, was far from positive. Shortly after getting our panels installed approximately 8 years ago, we noticed water leaking from our roof after heavy rains. Suspecting an issue with our gutter, we recently hired a roofer (for $1800) to re-line our gutter and re-shingle the lower portion of our roof. To gain access to the gutter, however, required removal of the solar panels on the aluminum frame. We were initially quoted $1000+ by Good Energy to simply remove and then re-install the panels; after objecting, that was revised to $670, which we were told covered the 12 person-hours (4 persons x 3 hours/person) required for this job. Watching the job performed, we were clearly overcharged by a factor of two or so, as two people basically did the job, while two others watched. After re-lining our gutter and then getting the panels re-installed, however, our roof is still leaking! The roofer told us that sometimes when solar panels are mounted directly to a roof, the holes drilled into the roof to fasten the panels are not always reinforced with some sealant, so we are now trying to understand from the solar company how the solar panel installation was leak-proofed.

We are currently in the process of remodeling our home in old west Lawrence. Good Energy upgraded our panel from 100 to 200 amps, and added a sub panel in the upstairs portion of our home. Can’t wait to have them back for the downstairs sub panel install, as well as a complete rewrite of our old knob and tube system. Could not ask for better service. They were on time, did their job efficiently, and for a fair price. As a tradesman myself I would whole heartedly recommend them to friends, family, and customers. Save yourself a lot of headaches and hire them.

Devlin was very courteous, professional, explanatory, and persisted in getting our Sunny Boy inverter up and running again when other companies failed.
We will be adding a Tesla powerwall in the near future, and Good Energy will be the company we will call when the time comes.

I have been researching and interviewing solar installation companies for over a month. I have meticulously compiled quotes into a spreadsheet to compare all of my options. Frustrated hat nothing felt quite right, I then contacted GES as they had been referred by another contractor who stated. 'If you don't use us, use them'. I initially reached out via social media over the weekend and was surprised to get a response over the weekend.

The office got me in touch with Eric Evans who was happy to come out and give a quote. With my suggestion, Eric accommodated a virtual appointment, going over all of the options and data points. What I liked about that process was that GES gave two solar options and let me decide what was best for us.

Although I didn't make a decision right away, Eric was available to answer additional questions and to provide new options so I could make an educated decision. Throughout the whole process, Eric never disparaged a competitor, rather promoted the solutions of GES. When we were close to make a decision but wanted information on batteries, Eric provided not one but three options priced out with data sheets to evaluate. Ultimately GES was not the cheapest option, but I believe provided a good value with a company that I can trust that will be around for years to come to handle any upgrades or warranty matters.

Recently, my service line and weatherhead were damaged due to a severe storm. From the first phone call to the office, I believed this was a group of people who truly cared about their customers and each other. Even though I had never used Good Energy Solutions before, they had someone over to my house the following day. An electrician and an office person both phoned to explain the work which would be completed. Both of the electricians who were here worked diligently and truly knew their craft. They were also kind and ensured I was pleased with the work. The person at the office also called the utility company when the electricians were finished, so they could reconnect my power. I recently purchased a home in Lawrence and had a fan that the light bulb wasn’t working and the housing had broken. I investigated Good Energy Solutions and their ratings were great so called them. Amy runs their office and is great! She called or texted me when they were able to analyze my electrical issue and they came by my home the next day! The Team inspected my original fan and the wiring was old and actually melted the light bulb casing (fire hazard). They instructed me what I needed to repair this and the cost. My ceilings are vaulted so additional work and parts were needed. The following week after all parts were in, they installed a new fan within an hour! The Team was very professional and nice! Amy is outstanding at keeping you informed of your project and just “perfect “ at her job and interacting with people! Highly recommend them.
