I interviewed four roofing and exterior companies to replace my worn roof. Three of the companies provided quotes to do the work, after they inspected the roof and attic space. The initial quote from Gold Shield Exteriors was the most competitive of the three. The second company reduced its initial quote 13% for signing within 30-days, then another 15% if I signed on to another discount scheme, then another 17% (!) when it found out I had chosen Gold Shield. The final quote was 44% lower than the initial quote. The third company reduced its initial quote 10% for one of their discount schemes, then another 11% thanks to the sales person's employee discount. Their final quote was 21% less than the initial. The question I have for the two multi-quote companies is, "What could I have done with the thousands of dollars I would have lost if I had agreed to your initial offers?" Gold Shield's initial quote never changed, and I was never subjected to the sales pressure of signing right away in order to take advantage of various discounts. I spent three and a half hours with Taylor, one of Gold Shield's owners. I was impressed with the Gold Shield business plan he described, his extensive experience with the roof and attic issues I was facing, and - most importantly to me - his emphasis that I take as long as necessary to consider their single offer. After I agreed (there really was no reason to take an alternative offer, Gold Shield's was still the most competitive even after all the other's discounts), I met with David, who would be the project manager for providing me with my new roof. Also a very stand-up guy who knows his stuff and is a real pleasure to work with. After an efficient two and a half-day install and a thorough clean-up, it was like they were never here. Bottom line: I have every confidence I have the very best roof ANY company could have installed. Gold Shield Exteriors will be the resource I use in the future for maintenance and for any other exterior issues that may come up. Thank-you to Taylor, David and the very capable Gold Shield crew.

I was surprised at how quickly a) they were able to come out for an estimate and b) how quickly they were then able to complete the job. Communication with the team was always quick and the information that they were able to provide was trustworthy and appreciated. I would gladly recommend their services to anyone and plan on scheduling further maintenance work with them down the road.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the job Taylor and David did for us. The gutters were installed with leaf guards to help keep our gutters clean. I’m pleased with the installation and clean up after. They are very nice to work with, and would use them again!

Excellent service. Our roof under the fir trees was mossy, dirty, and crusty with 8 years of pitch, needles and cones. When it was finished the roof looked great, and there was no trace that they had been there. Thanks so much!

Fantastic Roofing Experience – Highly Recommend!

Taylor, Dave, and their crew were amazing to work with. When we had a leak, Taylor came out right away and did a complimentary emergency tarp job to prevent further damage. He clearly explained our options and helped us choose the best path forward.

They replaced our roof at a very fair price, added intake ventilation to prevent attic mold, and fixed a drainage issue that had caused the leak. They also repaired a rotted rafter, fascia board, and water-damaged siding—handling everything thoroughly and with great communication along the way.

The team was professional, respectful, and incredibly clean—especially thoughtful with our dogs, making sure the yard was safe with magnet sweeps for nails.

They went above and beyond in every way. We’re so happy with the results and highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing work!

Just had a quick clean up done. I’m actually amazed at how clean he got the gutters. We haven’t seen them like this since this house was new. Almost looks like it did 16+ years ago. We’ll give them a call when we need other projects done!

Taylor came out to help me with my roof. Being a taller 2-story home, I was unable to get to the 2nd story to clean my roof and gutters. Taylor set up shop and made quick work of my debris-filled gutters. He also treated for moss, gave me a detailed update on the condition of my roof, vent boots, as well as a quote to provide leaf protection over my gutters. Very courteous, friendly, and professional. Gold Shield came recommended by a neighbor so I'm using them to treat moss on my roof. Taylor came out and inspected my roof then walked me through everything he noted, how long I have on key pieces that will need to be addressed, and explained a few different levels and options for getting fixes. He didn't push me towards any particular option and answered candidly any questions I had. You can tell he's experienced and, after having him work on my roof once, I know I'll be going back to him with any work I need in the future.

Called Gold Shield Exteriors, they came out did a very thorough inspection and left us an estimate. We called back and chose them for our roof because it was a fair price and they didn't waste our time like some of the other companies. The roof job was quick, clean and done in 2 days. Taylor Vance was very thorough with my gutters and put zinc on all the ridges to get rid of my moss. He guarantees his work and will come back if the zinc doesn't kill my heavy moss in places.
