My daughter broke down outside of town, less than 12 miles. The tire flew off the trailer, sheared the lug studs, ripped up the rim, & dragged the trailer on the ground til she could pull over. Some guy stopped by to warn her about Gibbs, not to use them at all costs, said he'd charge her thousands. She called to get a quote, & being naive to traveling across country or needing to be towed, thought the $700 that Gibbs had quoted her for 21 miles was decent. When she told me this I called him to confront him of this price, because it is obvious that this was taking advantage of someone in need. He was condescending & made it seem like ha ha we had no other choice. Extremely pompous sounding. He said they drove by the trailer & thought it would need a new axle, but couldnt quite say if it would be under $2,500 for repair. My daughter had sent me pictures. It was obvious in the pics the axle was unharmed. I drove 6 hrs to where she was, jacked up the trailer had the tire mounted on a spare rim, replaced lugs, lug studs, u-bolts & tie plate, greased their bearings, & they were on their way. I made sure to take the opportunity to show them how this was all done in case they'd need to ever do it again. Cost us less than $200 to do it ourselves, 12 hrs of driving total, & a couple hrs of fixing & limping it to town. Way better than getting scammed for thousands for something so simple.
I can't imagine this business portrays what Montanan businesses are like, but Gibbs sure doesn't help the image of the local people. They should be ashamed of themselves.
I beg anyone in the area to avoid Gibbs at all costs & please read the other horror stories on these reviews.

This guy is the most disrespectful person I have ever dealt with called to pay a tow bill he gave the price witch blew my mind towed a car 4.2 miles and wants $500 then exclaimed that he didn't get in trouble that he didn't care if we ever got her dam car back then hung up I was not rude or anything all I asked was just two tow it 4.2 miles I wouldn't give this Mike any rating but you have two too write a review

Gibbs Equipment was the most unprofessional shop i have ever experienced. I sat in the lobby for about 3 hours after the head mechanic Austin told me his boss Mike Gibbs would be there in a couple of minutes with no communication. I finally got to speak with Mike after him not showing up but calling me and deciding to use very foul words and be very disrespectful over the phone. They charged $540 to make a phone call that lasted 10 minutes and i ended up paying for because they refused to let me leave and blocked my vehicle in front to back. With that being said i decided to call the police. His employees lied about the hours it took them to do their work not only to me but too the glendive police . I sat there and watched them load my truck on my trailer that took 30 minutes but charged me for 2 1/2 hours of labor. Not only that but i have text messages from the head mechanic Austin that explained to me they worked on my truck for only 3 hours and decided to charge me for 7 hours instead. Even if gibbs equipment was your last resort i would highly recommend you to figure out a way to get it done yourself.

This is a 10-star rating because 5-stars aren't enough for Gibbs Equipment and Towing! We were traveling on vacation with our Toyhauler, and a axle spring broke on the Toyhauler. Mike Gibbs and his crew were very knowledgeable, skilled at their trade, efficient, and accommodating. Even though they were very busy with other repairs, they made sure to get our repair done to get us back on the road. We can't thank Mike Gibbs and his crew enough for all their help.

Big thanks to Mike, helped me with my truck very efficiently. I couldnt have found better shop to fix the body damage of my truck.

I am absolutely satisfied with the body service they have provided for me, even they have been month out, Mike was kind enough to help me with our truck body damage to make it roll worthy so we just fix it in the same day and we were good to go. Mike is the Man.

Mike and his crew are truly extraordinary. Our clutch went out 25 miles out of Glendive on our way to Washington State. We called Gibbs Towing for help and they not only came out and rescued us promptly, but they set us up with a plan to get the vehicle fixed in Billings (they were backed up with work at the time) and towed the vehicle to Billings. We had to get to Billings asap to get a flight to Washington due to a commitment we had and couldn't get a rental car in Glendive. So Mike rented us one of his own vehicles to use. They then let us leave their vehicle at the airport as well and they picked it up later and brought it back. Way, way above and beyond anything we expected. If you ever need vehicle help anywhere near Glendive, these guys are who you want to work with. Thanks Mike!

After hours on a Saturday. Guys got me done and on my way. Very professional great crew they got there.

Very professional shop. I had a air leak under a trailer on the way to Seattle and I called and spoke with Mike. As soon as I pulled up outside they came out and had me pull into a shop bay. Total time from pulling into building and to being fixed was 25 min. I couldn’t ask for better service. If you are in Glendive and need mechanical work, definitely call Mike Gibb and he will help you out as best as he can.

Stopped to get fuel filters changed. No problem got me right in and then proceeded to charge us over 300 dollars to change filters.
Charged grand total of 175 dollars for 2 filters that normally cost about 50.
Nice shop but will not ever be stopping there again.
If you stop bring the lube because you will need it as they screw you.

They dove an hour out into a practical blizzard and -25 degree wind-chills to help me. Had a blown airbag on my semi trailer suspension. He capped the line so the air system would hold pressure and I limped it to their shop in Glendive. He and another mechanic wrestled with the thing together and despite it fighting them they had it replaced and me back on the road in just 2 hours. This was all on a Sunday too, when their shop is normally closed and only the on-call guys are available.

Truck broke down in beach Montana during the winter storm. From towing all the way to service these guys were fantastic.

Temps in Montana were around -25 to -31 and plenty of snow around. Truck decided to gel up and stop running just as I was coming into Glendive. I got in touch with Gibbs and the lady was honest, she told me that it would be the next day before they could even think about getting to me they were so busy. I got a ride to a hotel and left the truck on the side of the freeway. The next afternoon they came to my hotel and got the key and towed it to their shop. They got it started and came and got me from the hotel. At a time they could have easily overcharged me for their service, they did not. The total bill was about half of what I thought it would be. All the employees I interacted with were all pleasant and very professional. Thanks Gibbs, because of you I will make it home for Christmas.

Had a diesel fuel gelling problem in the middle of nowhere with this guys being within 50 miles away from where I was.

The amount of care and professionalism Gibbs mechanic had for my issue was very reassuring. I think the mechanics name was Austin.

With a blown out front tire on 26' uhaul truck and stuck in the middle of nowhere in Montana on I-94, Mike Gibbs of Gibbs Equipment and Towing was quicker than what uhaul road side assistance told us! After obtaining the relevant details, he sent a pleasant young man who not only replaced the tire, but checked others as well to make sure they were in good shape.

Amazing place, we needed 6 split rims on a antique trailer and we were very lucky to break down next to this place, they had the expertise and equipment to get this done, very cool guys to do business with, solid 5 stars!

Blew a air line on my semi was able to make it there. They were quick to help and repair my air line. And get me back on the road

For starters this happened to my sister and brother in law but he Had a truck there to change the king pins, 4500 dollar max and they charged 9k. When he was asked about it he said sue me it'll cost you more to get a lawyer. So they rip you off on purpose knowing there's nothing you can do

We were grateful to have Mike come to rescue us when we broke down. He was extremely kind and did everything he could to help us when our engine blew halfway through a 2000 mile trip with our two dogs. He took us to a nice hotel with a restaurant and even helped carry our bags in. He helped us get a U Haul the next day so we could tow the car back home. Thanks, Mike! We are much obliged!

He charged me based on the color of my skin! His demeanor was very racist and rude! He made the comment that people my color get screwed over. I AM WHITE! I HAVE A TAN. He threatened to call the cops to report me for an accident. There was no accident. I would never recommend this racist business. If I could give zero stars I would.

I agree with others who have said “if I could give them 100 stars, I would”. Mr Gibbs and Josh took care of our family when we had a freak accident in our rental RV only hours after being evacuated during the Yellowstone flooding in June. We were 1,000 miles from home, yet felt the same “small town/family” atmosphere we would have felt at our local repair shop. They got us on back on the road, and gave us ease of mind after repairing the entire rooftop of our rental camper. Being small business owners ourselves, we value that type of service and assurance more than ever. Thank you, Gibbs!!

It is 4th of July weekend, everything was closed. Mike answered the phone and he came to were I was. He was so helpful and kind. I am so grateful for all he did for us. He figured out what wrong right away. It was minor and he was honest and up front about everything that was needed. Thank you!

Would give ten stars if I could! I called at 0700, explained my trailer issue, shop foreman said come on down. Barely set my brakes, foreman met me, immediately had a man on the job. Obviously, I arrived at a good time with an available mechanic however, it was the best on the road repair experience in my 26 years of OTR. Highly recommend.

My manager called ahead and Mike met me upon arrival. They got me in immediately and worked hard to get me back on the road and not burn up my clock. They did excellent work. They cleaned every part as they put it back on and explained everything as they went.

I highly recommend Gibbs for all tractor repairs.

Stay away.. they are bad people.. too much charge. If emergencies must confirm for service charge in writing. Aftwr done repair they would ask 500% over charge if you ask for reasonable charge . They will threat you for impound your truck and charge money thousands of dollar . I would say dont use these Gibbs .

We were locked out of our vehicle at the gas station and Mr. Gibbs came after work hours and arrived very quickly to take care of us. The absolute best customer service I have ever had and I would recommend him to absolutely everyone that needs any service done!

If it were possible to put 10 stars, I would put 10!!! This repair service was my hotel for 4 days while my truck was there for repairs))). The repair service has a large parking lot and we can park there without any problems, the mechanic George, to whom I am very grateful, did everything to make my truck go again, he worked on weekends and holidays, always competently approached repairs, very friendly staff. If you break down on the road again, then the choice is definitely “GIBBS EQUIPMENT &TOWING!!!

Couldn't ask for better service. Brought our Freightliner in which decided to break on one of the coldest days!
Not only did they get us in first thing, they had a brand new Radiator on hand (luck was on our side) and back on the road by end of working day!

I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible. In all of my years dealing with mechanics in a variety of situations I've never met a more forthright business owner than Mike Gibbs.

My wife and I hit an ice patch cresting a hill when the wind caught our camper and jackknifed us into a ditch. We called the first towing company that Google recommended us, and since then we've been blessed to have met Mike and his crew. They've accommodated us at every turn, laid out a variety of paths we could take, and have stayed in constant contact regarding our truck.

When our insurance was being difficult, the parts needed were hard to find, and the weather was so cold they couldn't even paint they've handled everything with the upmost professionalism and expediency.

I couldn't be more happy with how our situation was handled. In a world that seems to be getting more and more crooked by the hour Mike Gibbs stands as one of the last true good men.

Called to get an appointment to get our truck in. 50 miles before we rolled into Glendive Montana our truck started having issues. We are traveling from Utah to get our son moved to North Dakota. He is committed to Williston State for baseball. We rolled into Blue Sky RV Park and our truck died. We literally had to push our truck and trailer 5 feet so we could hook up water and sewer. I called Mike at Gibbs Auto to get appointment. He was booked up, The Ford Dealership American Ford in Glendive was out 3 weeks. Mike made some phone calls he called me back and said “ I think I have you taken care of I know the manager at Red Rock Ford in Williston North Dakota very well. “ If you can get a tow into Williston North Dakota Paul at Red Rock Ford can get you in tomorrow. We’ll long story short our truck got fixed and we are back on the road. Mike at Gibbs Went out of his way to help us out. Thanks again Mike.

Our motorhome broke down on the side of I-94. We called Gibbs and they sent out Josh immediately and he gave us a repair on the side of the road and we following him to the shop. We got to the shop and realized that wasn’t our only issue. At the shop he fixed our other issue, and put in some extra protection for further issues down the line. You feel
So helpless broken down on the side of the road and Gibbs and Josh really came through for us! Great business!

5 min from calling them they had me in the bay. 10 min later they had a used tire on to keep me rolling. Super friendly, courteous and most importantly professional. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Gibbs Equipment and Towing made the best out of a sticky situation for us! Billiard Professionals is currently on their way to Helena for one of their customers with a delivery and installation of a pool table. Along I-94, our alternator decided to give out or so we thought. Turns out, it was a smaller issue that they were able to handle with ease. While we were there, they noticed our trailer's running lights weren't functioning properly. They got down to the bottom of our wiring issue, making sure we didn't have any unnecessary tackles with DOT and driving on the road safely! These guys are the real deal and provide the type of service they would want done on their own equipment. Now we're back on track to service our customer thanks to them!

Mike did an amazing job with an expedited shipment that had wrecked 3 hours from his shop. Not only did he lift and tow the truck and trailer but he unloaded, repacked and delivered my freight 600 miles away with a local contractor!! My freight went from being on the highway to delivered within 24 hours, with no damage to the product. Great communication at all hours and over all outstanding service. Mike (the owner) went above and beyond to make sure my freight was handled with care and delivered ASAP!!

Mobile mechanic was EXCELLENT, got be up and running quickly. I think it took him longer to get thereunder get home than it took him to get me back on the road! I appreciated his time and expertise!
