Genesis did an outstanding job, in all respects, when installing solar panels on my roof. Their price was fair, and they stand behind their work 100 percent if anything gives trouble. They were pleasant to work with and took great care not to damage my roof, gutters, bushes, lawn, etc. I have worked with three other solar contractors and Genesis is the best by far.

We had an 8.55 kW roof mount system installed by Genesis Home and Energy, and I'm very happy.

I found prices to be competitive for a rather complex installation on three roof surfaces with microinverters that cost a little more more, but yield more energy per panel, as they are not as affected by shade or mismatch. He takes care of aesthetics to avoid routing conduit along unsightly areas and now my house is the envy of the street. So far the production has exceeded expectations and the electric bill has just been the monthly service charge, except during the coldest months.

And, Randy is much more creative and responsive than the big companies and takes the time to come visit your house (as opposed to looking at things through Google maps), takes measurements and explains different options to you. Randy will give you an estimate and he does not do hard sales pitches.

I have a 24 panel 6.12 kW roof top Solar Photovoltic System installed on my new single level house of 2256 sq. ft. finished space connected to the city grid of Harrisonburg in Virginia. Considering attention to details I went through building my house, Genesis Home and Energy did an esthetically pleasing professional job, on time, working with my building contractor and passed all city codes. For the month of Oct. I received a $62 credit on my electric bill. I will highly recommend this company for anybody who is looking for professional Solar Photovoltic System installers. Thank you Randy, you did a good job.

I needed a small portable emergency solar system with potential to run a freezer, lights, and communications at home in an emergency as well. Randy did an outstanding job designing and installing the critical parts. He worked through testing it with me, made excellent suggestions, and made the project a pleasure. I am using this 2-panel system very flexibly at home and one the road.

I have been very pleased with the solar panels and control devices that Genesis has installed on my 100-year-old house. I would highly recommend Genesis for anyone interested in solar energy.

When I first inquired about solar panels, I was poorly informed about the solar industry, but owner Randy Peltola kindly led me through a realistic assessment of some viable opportunities. I appreciated his openness and personal interest in my project.

Randy is extremely conscientious and reliable. He works well independently and has proven to be responsible in all my dealings with him. He and his team have been easy to work with and have met all the goals that we agreed upon. Unlike many dealings I've had with other contractors, Randy's estimations of time and money have proven accurate.

I also would like to add that he and his workers were all considerate of my personal belongings and the management of their work areas.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
