I cannot say enough good things about working with Jonathan Gatewood and staff at Under the Roof. We have worked with him on and off over many years to slowly rework our interior space. Jonathan's design expertise and guidance have been indispensable in helping us create a well-designed and comfortable space that we enjoy daily. In addition to his in-depth knowledge of all of their products, he readily and happily offers insight and advice on how to make the best use of our dollars to create the space that we want. Their white glove delivery service is also stellar as is their 60,000 square foot showroom full of beautiful options.

Kat was very helpful and knowledgeable. Made the furniture buying experience seamless and easy. Furniture is of much better quality than local competitors. Will definitely be back!

We recently ordered and received from Under the Roof, 2 custom swivel rockers. Jonathan was very helpful in finding the chair style and also with the fabric choice. Jonathan took plenty of time with me in helping to select a new loveseat for our home. He is impressively knowledgeable about furniture design and fabrics and is also very patient. With his guidance, I selected a fabric that I love. Just beautiful. The actual loveseat is very comfortable. There is one issue that needs to be resolved, but that should be done soon. Also, the delivery folks did a wonderful job. I would shop at Under the Roof again, and would recommend Under the Roof to others.

Kat was very helpful. We went in just to look but we found 2 pieces that we really liked. Kat wasn't overbearing or pushy in any way whatsoever. She gave us time to look at our own pace and to talk things over and and she answered all of our questions. She was easy to talk to, and we really appreciated her help. We definitely would go back!

Can't say enough great things about UTR! We were big fans back when they were located in Charlottesville, but this was our first time visiting the Waynesboro showroom. I can see why they moved - there's a TON more space here, and the expanded selection is still as thoughtfully and expertly curated as it's always been.

We ended up purchasing a beautiful Natuzzi leather couch, with the warm, kind, and knowledgeable assistance of Jonathan. He helped us find what we were looking for, but also gave us some interesting backstory info on the manufacturer. He was very helpful in explaining care instructions as well, and in stressing the importance of properly caring for this rather unique leather surface.

I'm so glad to know that Under The Roof is still around and still as awesome as ever. They'll be our first choice for furniture - definitely worth the drive from Cville!

We were pleased to discover such a great selection of quality furniture items available locally, without needing to travel to a larger city. Over the years my wife and I have made a handful of purchases—a variety of furniture pieces as well as accent furnishings—ranging from sale items off the floor to custom orders. We have been highly satisfied each time. The service provided by Jonathan Gatewood has been exceptional. We have dealt with him over several years and he is consistently courteous, respectful, highly knowledgeable, and never pushy. Jonathan helped us pick out our furniture using pictures of our living room to figure out how best to make the space work. His advice regarding fabric, color, placement was spot on. Our living room is now 1000% more comfortable, more attrractive, and more servicable, both for hanging out on a daily basis and for entertaining.

We recently purchased a Hooker sofa and loveseat from Under the Roof. It was an enjoyable experience, even though there were many choices. Jonathan was extremely helpful and very easy to work with. I recently purchased two Profile Foundations to lower our bed. I couldn't be more pleased with both the product and seamless service by Jonathan Greenwood. It's so nice to have a furniture store in the valley that carries a wide range of inventory from quality companies. And at reasonable pricing. (It's also possible to have something custom made, which opens up a huge variety of possibilities).

I first connected with Ann Arbor Home Furnishings five years ago when I was living in central Virginia. They were amazing in helping me special order a sofa to go with my favorite 20 year old Bassett chairs. They also made me aware of the option of ordering new cushion inserts to give my chairs a much needed makeover. I recently moved to western Tennessee and reconnected with them again to this time order cushion inserts for my sofa. A visit to Under the Roof, introduced me to Jonathan, one of floor representatives, who was a terrific guide through the 2 floors of very nice and diverse furniture at Under the Roof. More importantly, to me, there was no pressure and in fact Jonathan was very engaging, trying to learn about what I was looking for and why, and where it would go in our home and he was listening very carefully to all I said. Under the Roof offers a selection of manufacturers, all high quality and varied in price by the quality of the materials, i.e. the value of each piece is well reflected in the price of each product and very reasonably priced according to the value. By taking a true interest in me and what I was looking for, no time was wasted being directed to pieces that didn't fit my profile (no steering to the store's pieces they want to get rid of). I was there about an hour and over that time my discussions with Jonathan would be viewed as a conversation with a friend, not a sales presentation. He is a reflection of the high quality of the furniture in the store, and he had virtually complete knowledge of every piece, and you leave the store with both an appreciation of the furniture and a sense of trust about all that has been discussed. I returned with my wife 4 days later and we purchased one of the pieces that Jonathan and I had looked at and she left with the same sense of value and trust. Are they the cheapest store in the area, no, but certainly you get the best value I have found from Waynesboro to Harrisonburg (and online), so your money goes furthest and will leave feeling like you have made the best choice available with the help of someone who cares about you, not making a sale.

In my career, I have had the opportunity to build many sales teams, hiring people to sell products that ranged up to 7+ figures with 12 month or more sales cycles. Jonathan's approach to a client is exactly what I looked for when I was hiring and was a standard quality in my most successful sales people. Just because it is "just" a furniture store, don't think you aren't going to work with knowledgeable, interested, top level people who will put your needs first. It is a reflection of the store's approach (philosophy?) to building a client base, not selling goods in a one time shot.

I just happened to be Waynesboro for the day and popped into this store for a browse. I was looking at the tub chairs there and happened upon the Natuzzi ones. First of all, the store is a hidden Waynesboro gem. I had looked for chairs at several other furniture stores in the nearby town where I live, but almost everything was overstuffed & too large for my living room. So I was pleased to see a good variety of traditional/modern, oversized/delicate, etc., here. Jonathan greeted me when I arrived, listened attentively as I explained what I wanted, and was knowledgeable not only about the inventory on the sales floor but then, while I looked around on my own (which I always prefer to being trailed by a salesperson), he took the initiative to see what else the store might have in its warehouse for quick delivery. Jonathan also provided excellent follow-up, including calling the morning of delivery to ensure I would be home and communicating my request back to the delivery team that I would welcome a call 1 hour prior to delivery versus the standard 30 minutes ahead, so I could leave the house and run a few quick errands. Great experience all around. And love the chair I ended up buying!
