We recently had our basement renovated by Gaspar's Construction, and we couldn't be happier with the results! Justin P. was the project lead, and he did an exceptional job.

Justin managed all the subcontractors with incredible efficiency. His communication skills were top-notch, always keeping us in the loop and helping us make the best decisions throughout the project. Lastly, Justin's craftmanship is outstanding. He did an awesome job of tying together the different intricacies and peculiarities of our 1950s house and the result is a beautiful, modern looking bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette!

The craftsmanship is outstanding—our basement looks amazing! Huge thanks to Justin and the whole Gaspar's team for making our renovation a smooth and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Renovating your home is inherently personal. A general contractor will not only be in your home a lot but will impact how you live every day thereafter. At first, I thought I loved Gaspars because they were on time, on budget, and did excellent work. Yet it was the way I felt understood as a person that ended up being more important. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Rain was leaking into my garden shed from the roof. Carlos diagnosed and repaired the leaks, which were coming from a number of different sources and were tricky to diagnose. His problem solving skills, experience, and professionalism are outstanding. He is one of the reasons I am a Gaspar Handyman Services customer.

We’ve been working to remodel our 1968 home for almost 15 years, since we purchased it. In the past, we’ve unfortunately made some bad decisions regarding contractors, which means we’ve been derailed by both those decisions and by personal circumstances. But now, we’re done!

We now LOVE our home, and we gratefully thank Gaspar’s for helping us complete this journey. We worked with and interviewed a lot of firms over the last 15 years, and our initial foray into our remodel had seriously degraded our trust in contractor promises. Gaspar’s Construction cured that. I wish we had chosen them at the beginning of our journey!!!

Everyone at Gaspar’s exhibits the highest professionalism and dedication to quality. When anything unexpected cropped up (which happens with every remodel), they were upfront and honest and PROMPT. I have the highest respect for their honesty and integrity.

They are not the least expensive option out there for a large remodel, but they are the best and worth every penny. If we had chosen them early on, before trying out other contractors, we would have saved a ton of money overall and been much less stressed.

I have rarely worked with companies that I can recommend wholeheartedly, without any reservations. Gaspar’s is one of those rare companies. They were professional and kind, and they saved us money where they could. They had our best interests at heart, and their work was stellar. We now live in a home we love, after years of living with less.

Gaspars has been incredible to work with across both home remodel planning & one-off home repair projects. Most recently, Carlos did an excellent and timely job repairing a leak in our ceiling. We changed our approach based on his concern for the time needed for it to dry out, which was really appreciated. He was flexible and professional.

Great experience from initial conversation with Tillia to Phillip arriving and inspecting the situation to provide expert advice on how to proceed. We could not be more satisfied with the entire process and look forward to working with the team again.

I contracted with Gaspar's to install a steel mantel into tile above my fireplace. This work was the last remaining item of a multi-month gas fireplace conversion, and the fireplace company would not take it on due to risk of cracking the tile. Gaspar's informed me of the risk as well, yet was willing to give it a try.

Turns out, it was porcelain tile which is much harder/denser and takes a specialized diamond bit to drill into without cracking. The Gaspar's contractor inspected the tile, found the correct bit, and performed the work with high level of professionalism. He even brought a gimbaled laser level to make sure the 58" mantel was installed level.

After completing the work we had some extra time, so the Gaspar's contractor offered to do some small jobs around the house which I could think of in the moment, without any extra cost. He even showed me how to do them next time. Super happy with the finished work, and excellent service!

This is coming a few years after the fact and it is primarily motivated by the realization that we were given an odd and indirect "No" by none other than the owner, Sarah.

I'm not going to 1-star this review because I think they are a very professional and experienced team. I'm posting this because of the odd way that our project was declined.

Here's my story:
We had initiated the process with Sarah and the team to have an addition added to our house. We spelled out what we were looking for and we even got to the design phase. We had a meeting at their offices to discuss the designs and that's where things fell apart. The designs were not in line with our requests and we started asking questions that would help bring things in line with what we wanted.

At that point, Sarah and the designer started talking about how there would be "flashing issues" for a part of the project and that's why what we wanted was not possible. Being naive about remodeling, I took them at their word and we decided not to move forward with Gaspar's.

Our project is now complete and there are no "flashing issues". In retrospect, the whole conversation was like a sitcom where the design team had a code phrase or something that indicated they didn't want to continue working with us and used technical jargon to deflect their client.

Instead of being direct with us, they had to play this little game. Some of the other contractors (such as Kitchens and More) that we bid with were direct with us and said they couldn't do it. My review is feedback to Gaspar's to just be up front. If you don't like the direction that a client is taking the design, just say that it isn't within your scope.

We appreciated the talent and professionalism of Gaspar’s design team. They were very thorough with their assessments, had creative ideas for our project and were willing to work within our budget. We appreciated that Gaspar’s had many samples of cabinets, hardware, and flooring for us to choose from. We also liked their use of technology to show us their ideas and document any changes that we made.

I have a door that is jamming due to water getting in under the threshold when it rains (does not jam when it's not raining). I called Gaspar's explaining the situation on how the the door was fine, and this was not an issue with the door itself. The account manager then told me that they will come to evaluate the door, asked what material it was made of, etc....completely ignoring the point I had made about it not being the door itself. I just felt like I was not being heard and decided to not move forward with this company.

I had a small job - replacing the wood steps up to my front porch. Friends suggested a private handyman, but I chose Gaspar's because I knew I could trust their work for quality and efficiency. I am so glad I did.
Their employee, Chris Bucklin, was terrific. He came with the experience to know exactly what needed to be done, and had the tools and equipment to do it. He went right to work, and never stopped. He not only replaced the steps, but the stair supports that were rotten. He was careful to save the wood that could be saved, and paid attention to the details that finish a job, i.e. bonding and sanding, patching imperfections, and caulking, gluing and reinstalling what he had been able to save. He cleaned up everything at the end of the day, and later had it hauled away and dumped. And, on top of that, he was personable, showing me the work, providing explanations and answering my questions.
Gaspar's, and Chris were great.I would use both of them again without reservation, for any job I needed done.

We just recently completed a partial home remodel that included new floors, a new kitchen and demolition of a primary closet for expansion and the addition of a gas fireplace and could not be happier with the results!

From the time we met Jen at Gaspar's we knew they were the right contractor for our project. From our initial meetings with her and Vita (in design) to Isaac and Karl (in construction) we always felt a great connection and that they cared about our project.

With Jen and Vita at the outset, they were inquisitive and responsive to what we had envisioned for this project and were great with suggestions on materials, design and other aesthetics to add value to our remodel. When we had questions regarding pricing or other things we thought should or could be different they even encouraged us to even shop or ask around from others and they were right!!

It was a long undertaking with our very first initial meeting in mid-2021. Obviously, COVID hampered a lot of the timing during this project and our own schedules necessitated a late 2022 start date but we were kept in the loop every step of the way. We vacated our home and were not present during any of the remodeling but the weekly Zoom calls were amazing to see the progress and to go over any questions or issues. Isaac and Karl were wonderful and receptive to change orders (we didn't have a lot) and new ideas as the project unfolded.

Even after our expected completion date (it was originally a 13 week project) there were minor changes and/or adjustments here and there that needed to be completed over the next several weeks and Isaac and Karl were exceptional at communication, follow up and getting everything ultimately finished.

We love our "new" home and are excited to show off the craftsmanship of Karl's pantry, the amazing (and enormous) kitchen island and new and beautiful fireplace.

This is a long overdue thank you and review to / for Gaspar's.
We started talking about a kitchen remodel for our 1932 Tudor pre-covid. After some starts and stops (all because of our timeline, not theirs) the project evolved to include the kitchen along with a main floor bath, new deck with staircase, new access into our home (doors/windows), exterior painting, lighting and change of flow for our main floor.

I can't begin to express our appreciation and thanks to Sarah, Isaac, Tess and team for their hard work, great ideas, flexibility, professionalism, good humor and outstanding quality of work.

We've lived in our home for almost 25 years and have never enjoyed it as much as we do now. The Gaspar's crew is hard working, thoughtful, insightful and provides an outstanding value. It's not often in today's world that you get what you pay for. With Gaspar's, you truly do.

Couldn't be happier with our project and am already planning the next one. Truly an outstanding team and company that is worth the wait and the investment.

Philip was able to efficiently and very effectively repair damage to our garage door and doorframe. He finished well ahead of schedule and thoroughly addressed all issues.

This is the second time that I've used Gaspar's, in the past several months, and I've been impressed each time. This past visit was some general repairs on the house, and the work was done quickly, professionally, and within my budget. Philip did great work and explained the process, what he was doing, and what to expect after the repairs. I will be using Gaspar's for my upcoming bathroom remodel, and I cannot wait to see what they do with the space.

Rob is the best. The kitchen looked awesome he was an awesome person and I got great service and I will use them again

Specifically want to call out our handyperson Rob. He went from project to project in one day and completed them all with incredible quality and skill.

This was the second time I've used Gaspar's for handyman projects around my home and both times the people they've sent have been exceptional and a pleasure to work with.

For this most recent visit a few weeks ago, Gabe cleaned the coils on my two refrigerators (supposed to be annual maintenance but it was the first time as they're hard for me to access), installed earthquake anchors for my tv and artwork, replaced a failing 6-foot exterior gate by building another one from scratch and making sure it hung/latched perfectly, and installed a double-bar towel rack that replaced one with a different footprint.

Gabe's skills are outstanding and he was great to work with. Excellent quality all the way around. Gaspar's hires great people. So grateful to have found them!

We highly recommend Gaspar's Construction for remodeling projects. Our remodel was on time and on schedule. As in most remodels, unexpected issues come up. Gaspar's very up front about additional costs and/or alternatives. In addition, the fact that most of the sub contractors on our project have been working with Gaspar's for at least 10 years bodes well for all.

I have relied on Gaspar's friendly service for over 10 years. They completely gutted and renovated our triplex units and each unit turned out beautifully. Their design team is excellent and their customer relations are exceptional. They are communicative and responsive. I especially appreciate Isaac's resourceful solutions to tricky situations. Rob was the hardest working gentleman I have ever met. He was on time, efficient, creative, polite and helpful. My job took 3 days and I am very pleased with the outcome and Rob’s professionalism.

Update: Gaspar's responded to my concerns, sending out Latif (handyman manager) to ensure the faucet installation was completed to my satisfaction. I appreciate the attention they gave to ensure good customer service.

I booked a service call to replace three bathroom faucets and one towel bar that I supplied. Time estimate was one day or less. Handyman showed up without all the necessary tools, plumbers putty, and silicone; and evidently had limited experience with installing faucets. $1200 later, one faucet was installed without replacing the drain (no putty), one towel bar was installed, and two sinks were left with faucets removed but not replaced, so are unusable. I had to pay for more than an hour for the handyman to drive to Lowe's to purchase a tool that he then kept. Handyman services booking out for several weeks so no idea when the job might be completed -- or how much more I would need to pay.

We used Gaspars Construction to renovate our basement. They were amazing to work with. They communicated everything so clearly to us and we never felt like we were an afterthought. We felt like they were treating us like family from the very beginning. Sarah and her team handled everything from the design to the final installation. We use our basement every day now and before we never went down there.

I love Gaspar's! A large project went horribly with another contractor and I credit Gaspar's with helping us get back on track. Ted spent a lot of time with me even though he couldn't help me directly. He was honest about timelines and he and Leo recommended more affordable or quicker options for my situation. Chelsea, Carly, and Leo are always so quick to respond and so professional even if I take a while to get back to them. Trent and another handyman came over for a project and did great work. It's so refreshing to know there is a hardworking, nice, transparent construction company out there!

John came out on Friday and quickly figured out the problem (it was the toilet not the shower that was leaking) and got all the prep work done before the plumber arrived so they could get the repair done quickly. He patched things up and made arrangements for Jameison to come Monday after things dried to sand, texture and paint. Jameison arrived on Monday and quickly got the finishing work done and even asked if we needed anything else done and patched up another small hole in another room for me, leaving it paint ready for me to finish off. Both John and Jameison were careful not to make too much mess and cleaned up nicely so I was not left with any cleanup to do when they left. We were really pleased to be able to get this taken care of so quickly and professionally.

Gabe has been onsite twice at a rental I own. He is a great trouble shooter and very knowledgeable. Great to work with!!

We had a hole in a home office wall due to a broken pipe that had since been repaired. John and Trent from the Handyman team came and were were excellent workers. They were on time, courteous, neat, and did a great job of patching and painting our wall. We are super happy with them and with Gaspar’s!

We chose Gaspar's Construction to support a small family owned woman lead business in Seattle. It's been a year now since we've moved home and our house is solid, wearing with no problems. It's a delight to see and enjoy the quality of work day after day. If you're looking to remodel your home, we'd strongly recommend you consider Gaspar's Construction if quality, experience and good people are important to you.

We learned about Gaspar’s from friends who recommended them to us. We have been grateful to have them remodel our home. They have incredible communication, wonderful people and top-notch work. Our home has been completely updated and turned into our sanctuary. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We will definitely be contacting them for all of our future home projects.

Gaspar's has completed two projects for us. The first was conversion of a bathroom with an unused shower into a powder room with storage. The second was a major remodel of our ensuite bathroom, construction of storage for picture frames and large photographs, and replacement of the upstairs flooring and stairway carpet. The planning and design process is very thorough. Construction quality was excellent and if there were any problems they were quickly remedied. Gaspar's is not the lowest cost contractor but they are totally reliable and fun to work with.

Gaspar's may do quality work, but watch out for large bills for questionable and erroneous design work. I paid Gaspar's nearly $1,000 for design work before terminating the contract. All I had hoped to do was retile my fireplace and add a small hearth to it. At our first meeting, I specified a dark gray matte finish tile. One of their designers suggested that instead of tile they could use a slab of quartz. I said that would be fine as long as the finish was the same. They left. The next thing I received was an $870 bill for "design" and "feasibility." I was surprised, because I had not heard from them since our first meeting a week before. I reached out to them for an update. When they got back to me, they said all I needed to do was contact the designer to pick out a slab. I called the designer, who informed me that quartz doesn't work for fireplaces (the same designer who originally suggested quartz), and that I should choose a slab of granite. But granite is more costly and (more importantly) nothing like the dark gray matte finish I had asked for at the first meeting. I told him I didn't want granite, and that I would do research over the weekend regarding tile. When I sent him tile ideas, he said the tile I suggested wouldn't work, but he didn't offer any examples of gray matte tile that would work. I then received another bill for $122. Thus, I'd spent $992 for them to "design" my project, and yet they hadn't yet helped me to even identify a tile in the color I'd asked for at our first meeting. At this point, I was spooked by the lack of understanding and bad communication. Meanwhile, Gaspar's asked me for an additional $1,500 deposit to continue their work. At that point, I saw nothing but red flags. I shared all of this with them, but no remedy was offered, other than that they agreed to stop work. I walked away from the money and from the project. They may do good work (I never got to find out), but I would not recommend Gaspar's unless cost is irrelevant to you.

Gaspar’s is an amazing operation! Renovations are so costly and potentially stressful, but their expertise, thorough estimate planning and excellent team of people really made our renovation a fun and exciting process! We adore our newly improved home and felt like we were truly taken care of every step of the way. Gaspar’s is truly the best-you’ll be so thankful you hired them!!

We booked Gaspars for a day of handy-man services, and after one reschedule on their part, they sent out Gabe. Who. Is. Awesome. Super friendly guy, and so good at what he does! In a single day he trimmed out an archway, hung a heavy punching bag, and patched a big hole in our garage ceiling, including taping. He pulled his van back up the garage and worked out of that and our garage floor. He managed to do in a day what would have taken us weeks to get done between work and parenting, and to a much higher standard. Was it expensive? Yes. Worth it? HECK YES. I'm already thinking of other projects I will ask them to help me knock off the list.

I really tried to use this business, but after waiting two months for a phone call, the Rep. told me that she wasn't interested in my project to remodel a small bathroom and small kitchen with my $150, 000. budget before appliances. She said, they usually charge much more for a kitchen and a bath. I was really disappointed, especially since my work would have needed no outside financing. All my other estimated have come in around $100,000.00 and they were all willing to come to my fabulous little house overlooking downtown Seattle.

I had a great experience with Gaspar's and will hire them again! I needed them to fix drywall that was removed for electrical work and do some related touch up painting. The fabulous repairman from Gaspar's did all these tasks and more. I asked about some other repairs I needed done (boarding up a cat door, installing light fixtures), and he had the time and skills to do these things. We discussed costs, which were reasonable, and all is done! Skilled, friendly, professional.

I have used their Handyman services for years so I decided to hire them for my complete kitchen remodel. The work and quality is great. Hopefully you end up with Trevor overseeing all the work, he takes pride in his work and does not miss a thing.

We've used Gaspar's handyman service for several years and have always been impressed with the professionalism of the team and quality of the work. So, when we decided to renovate our small wine room, we called Gaspar's. From start to finish, the experience was positive - from design meetings with Jen, to pre-con meetings with Erica, to the day-to-day work of Severin - we were impressed with their professionalism and expertise. They treated our modest project with respect and patiently led us through our first-ever construction project. We are delighted with our new wine room and look forward to working with Gaspar's again.

Gaspar's did a great job with my living area remodel. Communication was always on point, and John did amazing and detailed work, even putting in hours on the weekends to make sure that the project was completed exactly on time!

We had an excellent experience with the Gaspar's team renovating our kitchen and bath. The team was detail oriented, responsive, and delivered on all their promises. The design, project management, construction, and outcome all surpassed our expectations.

We have used Gaspar’s twice for major remodels. The first time, back in 2005, they were very good. This time, for our kitchen remodel, we thought they were *excellent*. The process throughout was thoughtfully and professionally managed.

The design phase focused on formulating a plan that addressed our needs and “nice to haves”, while being respectful of, and honest about our budget. The combination of working with a designer who *listens* to you and a customer advocate who keeps things real when it comes to money is powerful and confidence-inspiring.

The construction phase was equally well managed. We met weekly with the lead carpenter to assess progress, answer questions and make course corrections, which also inspired confidence. The quality of the work was top-notch, and it was on time. The project finished *literally* on the day originally projected by the plan. We couldn’t have been happier with our lead carpenter, who was skilled, diligent, honest, and on-point throughout.

We can’t recommend them highly enough.

I greatly appreciated Severin's work. I'd been putting off some repairs since I bought my condo two years ago, and decided to call GSBA member Gasbar's Construction when my cabinet doors started falling off their hinges. Severin found a few other legitimate problems that were threatening to cause injury - and fixed them in minutes. I was very pleased - nice guy, good value. Thank you.

Tim was my first handyman. I liked him. I wanted to use him the next time. I couldn't get him. They sent Justin. He was very slow. He was on my couch for six hours. I sat on my couch when he left and within ten minutes had excruciating leg cramps. I got welts and severe bruising on my legs. I'm never using them again. Tim's a great handyman so if you use them ask for Tim.

As a homeowner of less than 10 years of a new construction, we have not had the need (yet) to take on any major renovation projects. That said however we have had a variety of handyman services out to the home to keep it looking new. Some were good, while others where less than desirable. Most recently we decided to give Gaspar’s a try following a friend’s recommendation, and we are certainly glad we did! The handyman turned out to be a handywoman (can’t recall her name unfortunately) and she did a superior job on a variety of tasks we required over the course of the 4 hours we paid for. She repaired an attic vent, a ding in some sheetrock, to include matching the paint and painting, and also replaced and painted some trim.

The best part about the experience was everything looked new and matched after completed. Unlike some of the other reviews, I will not complain about what we paid because more importantly I realize the VALUE in a job well done the first time, which is exactly what occurred. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for!

Thank you Gaspar’s for a job well done! I will not hesitate to use their ‘handyperson’ services in the future, and when we are ready for that big renovation, Gaspar’s will be the first call we will make!

We used Gaspar Services for a french door installation replacement for a deck slider. Johnny was referred to us by Home Depot. Excellent service, attention to detail and he and crew cleaned up dust and debris at every step of the process. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Used Gaspar's to remodel our kitchen. It came in under budget and how often do you hear that on a construction project?

We had interviewed about 6 or 7 different contractors (a couple of independent, a couple of design/build, a couple of vertically integrated companies) and felt that Gaspar's had the right amount of expertise, communication and flexibility to work with us.

And we were right! Gaspar's built us a beautiful kitchen, most of the time, we knew what was going on with our project, and we were able to do some of the work ourselves!

I am very pleased and whole heartedly recommend them to anyone!

Gaspar's bills for transit time to purchase replacement parts that they don't have on hand. I was okay with this until I discovered that the tech who handled my job billed for two hours she spent driving around town searching for a part that wasn't even stocked at the stores she checked.

If replacement parts are necessary to complete a job, one would hope the tech knows exactly what they are and where they can be quickly and reliably obtained. If there's any doubt, parts should be secured ahead of time with a phone call. Since they're unable to this, it's the customer who pays for such iffy excursions.

Sarah Henry and her team at Gaspar’s Construction are the most creative, knowledgeable, and high integrity group I have ever met in the remodel industry. I’ve referred a number of clients to Sarah over the years and everyone has received individual attention, excellent customer service, and have been overjoyed with the completed work. Sarah is consistently on budget, on time, client focused and is always working to impress her clients. I can’t recommend Sarah Henry and her team enough for your remodeling needs.

This is who you call when sofyt remodeling work needs swift attention. Garpars works quickly and purposefully to meet deadlines. They take care of all the subcontactor scheduling and fuzzing. That's whyyou pay them a 30% premium over subcontractor invoices, twice a normal contractor markup.

Great local contractor if your looking for quality. They have an architect in house which made all the difference with our project. Sarah and her team do a great job. Highly recommended

It's been almost a year since we've completed our home remodel. It was major renovation, went down to 3 walls & added square footage. We hired Gaspar's Construction to do the work. With all the horror stories we hear about construction companies, cost & timelines, we were concerned. However, the team at Gaspar's were the utmost professionals. We had weekly in-person meetings to discuss the timelines, talk about any new items & the work for the following week. We also got weekly cost reports. People said our project would take 12-18 months. It was 6 months. Gaspar's quoted us an end date. We had to push the date out by 4 days & we knew about it 3 months in advance! Their design team was fabulous too. We learned a ton. Got a beautiful, dream-come-true home. Every day we look around the house & smile. Thank you Gaspar's. The only negative thing, we miss them!!!

Gaspar's did great work repairing the decks on my home. Collin was thorough and friendly and ensured that I had high quality work without exceeding what was necessary and cost efficient. This was greatly appreciated.

We have used Gaspars on a number of difference occasions with two of their servicemen. We have been quite impressed with their operation. They show up on time, do what they promise, don't make a mess, are quite pleasant and do excellent work. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for higher end handyman services. They are professionals. We also plan to use them in the future as needs develop.

We just remodeled 2 of our bathrooms with Gaspar's. The project was done on time (despite us adding on some work to the master bedroom to the original plan partway through), and was a bid price (plus cost of the add-ons we did), so coming in on-budget wasn't an issue for us. The quality of the work is high, and we're really enjoying our new spaces. The price is probably a bit higher than others might charge, but you do get what you pay for-- quality construction and finishes done on time.

We could easily stay in touch with our site manager (and the rest of the Gaspar's team) via email and text, so it was very convenient to communicate with them about potential changes, issues, etc.

Gaspar's also helped us with the design process, helping us choose materials and doing drawings of how the new spaces would look, tile layouts, etc.

They did a great job of keeping the rest of the house as clean and undisturbed as possible during the construction, and the construction area itself was always clean at the end of the day.
