Gage Tree Service

Gage tree service gave me a quote and after approval showed up in less than a week to remove a very large tree next to the house. They were fast and professional with competitive pricing. I would definitely use Gage tree service in the future!

Daniel and the rest of the crew did a great job. Left the site very clean and even blew a bunch of debris off the roof a shed, leaving it cleaner than when they found it.

We have used Gage several times in the past and have been very happy with price and service.
Unfortunately, I am having to post this as a warning. I understand that inflation causes prices to rise and that’s just the nature of the beast. However when they give a quote for $1000 a tree because it has to be topped there’s a problem. Beware you aren’t going to get a fair quote from Gage Tree service.
Gauge tree service you just priced yourself out of our return/repeat customer business.

From reading Alaska resources, spraying early in May is best. We paid a deposit in April 19, confirmed all snow was gone, called again on May 7, again confirmed all snow was gone. Was told they would call with approximate spray time for May 15. Didn’t spray until May 19. Asked twice to let me know time of arrival
so I could cover kale, lettuce, and other veggies. Did not call or text prior to arrival.

Gage Tree Service has provided prompt and excellent services for us over the past four years. We are consistently impressed with their communication, pricing, and follow through. The work itself is always professional and well done. Highly recommend Gage!

Like clockwork! Have called on Gage Tree Service for years for tree removal and spruce bark beetle spraying. They came out this year with the same great level of service. Called to let us know when they were coming. Were on time, got it done, and made sure appropriately posted. Once again, they reliably and professionally got the work done.

A few things to note: good communication with office and crew including email and phone calls, professional crew, they own the equipment including an impressive mini skidder, lowest bid.

After hearing positive reviews on the company, we were feeling confident in utilizing their services for the removal of two tree stumps in our back yard. Gage Tree Service came out on Jun 18th and promptly gave us an estimate. We reached out later that day to get on their schedule. We had not heard anything from their office by June 29th so we reached out again and were told someone would be in touch. Fast forward to today, July 15th, and still have not heard from their office. We decided to go with another company who could at least get us scheduled. Jeff seems very nice, and professional, but a bit disappointed in the office for not contacting us.

We used Gage to shovel snow from our roof and deck. We were very pleased with their prompt and efficient service. They were very respectful of our property and completed the job quickly and expertly. Everyone we encountered - office staff, estimator, and shoveling crew were great.

I called several companies, including Gage Tree Service, about getting my roof shoveled and ice removed. They were the only one that offered to give me an estimate, albeit with a 3 week wait time, and get the work done. In a few days I received a call; a space in their schedule had opened. They did the estimate on a Monday, I paid the deposit, and the work was done the next day. They did a great job, both shoveling the roof and cleaning up afterward. Highly recommended.

This is the second year they have put up outdoor winter lights for us. They do a great job. Last year I called when a couple of bulbs had gone out. Shortly after I called they came out and replaced them. I have no complaints and we will use them every year.

I have used Gage several years for snow removal and this year had to add another home for the service.

They were somewhat apologetic when I called to add another address because rates have gone up. The fact of the matter is that their rates are excellent, the level of outstanding service they provide is in my estimation/experience unparalleled and well worth every penny.

When Gage sends out someone to clear your driveway they clear it with a snow blower—no truck smashes snow into a fence, your front porch, your garage door; any of the nightmares that happen with truck clearing. A person blows your driveway clear, shovels your walkway or porch, and leaves you a clear pathway to get to your home.

Even on the snowiest yuckiest days I have had excellent snow removal service. Their rates may have increased but the reality is that you get what you pay for and with Gage snow removal services you get the very best.

Gage Tree Service has long been our "Go To" tree service in Anchorage. Gage recently (Aug '23) provided splendid service for our trees, and, as always, the crew was sharp, professional, and friendly.

I had them grind down several stumps which were around my flower beds. They took extra care to protect my flowers and removed any strangler roots and growth. Best company I have used ever!

Gage has done work on trees on our property and also recently removed a dead spruce at our church property. They are exceptional and recommend them highly!

Awesome service! Very professional and efficient. The sales person Anthony was friendly and professional. The cutters, Chris and Tyler, showed up on time and made a very tough job look easy. They cut up the trees, stacked the wood and cleaned up like no one was even there. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!

I am very pleased with Gage Tree Service. The folks doing the estimate took the time to understand my space, my goals, and select the right trees for removal. The crew was efficient, friendly, and as unobtrusive as a crew with chainsaws and shredder could be. The large cottonwoods came down with room to spare around structures and powerlines. All of this happened in less than a week which is amazing and also in part because it was early April. All the people I interacted with had confidence in their skill and a genuine desire to help me manage my mini forest. My only complaint, well the complaint of my dog, is that they didn't leave enough sticks behind!

They did a great job the workers they sent out were very professional. The stump they removed was very massive about (4 feet X 4 feet) could not be any more happier with the results

We were frantic when our kitten snuck outside and climbed up a tree after the birds in our yard. No one could help get her down, and both animal control and the fire department weren't able to help. After turning to the internet we thought we would try local tree services, surely they had the experience if needed! Gage Tree Service answered and were so helpful, unlike everyone else we tried! David was amazing, he was just as worried as we were, and scaled the tree in no time. She got herself stuck at the very top of a HUGE tree but it didn't matter. He got her out and shes back home safe!! I couldn't thank him enough and highly recommend if you're in the same situation we were!

I had a wonderful experience with this company. They came out later than expected on both our estimate and actual removal day, but they communicated every time.
The prices were much lower than I was expecting for tree removal and they did a better job than I was expecting.
They worked quickly and efficiently and did so in a safe way. I was very comfortable with this crew working in my yard.
I had multiple beetle birches that made the yard uncomfortable to be in but now I have I my yard back.

Gage has cut trees at my home for many years. They are always skilled and efficient. They clean it all up beautifully and my yard looks so much bigger and better!

Used them at work before engaging for home. They removed 7 cottonwood from backyard. Professional and timely review process (reviewer no longer with company). Work completed over three days because they had to blow snow to each tree the day before. They hauled the trees away from triple the cost of only cutting them down (fairly standard). Gave us $100 off for breaking Trex railing, but nothing else was damaged and appeared to work safely and efficiently. They cut the stumps good and low so it was easier when I ground the stumps. Only disappointment: promised to return once snow melted to remove the remaining debris, but then never showed up despite several calls and an appointment.

Professional job, David and his co-worker came out and removed a couple stumps for me. They cleaned up after removing the stumps and roots, and in general they did a more "professional" job than many Anchorage "professionals" have done for me. I look forward to calling Gage to put up Christmas tree lights in the winter and confidently recommend them for residential stump removal.

Fast prompt service, chipped up a huge pile of limbs/branches, left area completely clear of debris. Excellent job at great price.

They didn’t arrive when they said (it took them 2 extra weeks to show up) and grind the root down. It’s still there.
I complained and didn’t get a response. But! We did get a partial refund and a small Harry & David gift.
It’s frustrating that the root system is still there. The Partial refund just means I’ll pay a little less than double to get the job done.

We've used their roof shoveling service twice. Both times they were quick, efficient and courteous. Will use again when the time comes.

Great guys and service even humored me and cut my stumps at different heights for mushrooms and the gentleman that gave me and estimate told me about bowling ball ladybugs :)

Gage Tree Service was the only service in Anchorage who was more than willing to help rescue my cat out of a tree after hours. They were kind and responsive, and showed up just as we got him out ourselves, and did not charge us anything. Highly recommend to anyone who needs these types of services.

Gage came and removed many trees. The last time 4 trees from the yard. David returned to remove the stumps and I am telling you he was awesome! We now have green grass. Thank you Gage and thank you David. We couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend this company.

Gage was recommended by a family member who is very knowledgeable about yard improvement. I called and found the nicest, most helpful person answering their phone. Great Impression! So I hired them to help me with the tree removal of a huge dying tree. They were excellent at this task so I hired them to plant new trees and transplant a tree whose roots were too close to the house. Again they arrived at the appointed time and replanted the tree in another location. Next I hired them to put Christmas lights (Yes, they also do that!!) around the contours of the roof and a few trees. Anther five star job, so they just finished making my house festive for another Holiday. They have the BEST

Best customer service hands down. I am so thrilled to have such a wonderful experience with this company. Also they were the first estimate we called for and followed through with. I am literally overjoyed with their work ethics and would recommend to anyone in who needs a tree removal ( those spruce trees aren't going to magically come back alive folks)! Plus it was WAY more affordable than I was originally thinking which made the process even smoother. All around- AMAZING!

They did a pretty good job you know getting the tree cut down. They took the brush away and cut the logs in nice lengths. I definitely think they could have cut the stump lower than what they did but it is what it is. There communication was also not the best. Overall good though.

We hired Gage Tree Service as they were one of the contractors listed for a dead spruce tree removal program and they had the cheapest quote to remove a dead spruce tree from our backyard, the stump, as well as a cottonwood tree and stump.

Our experience started off well enough. They came out in a timely manner to give us an estimate. The problems started once we received our estimate. For almost a month we couldn't get anyone to return our calls/emails about scheduling the work. After about a month my husband did get in touch with someone. We were told the scheduler would be in touch. Two weeks would pass, no word. My husband would call and we would wait two weeks. As part of the incentive program we are participating in, the tree had to be removed by the the end of this month. Needless to say, we were growing concerned that the deal would fall through.

Then this morning out of nowhere my husband received a call that they we coming to cut the two trees down today. Luckily, we were working from home today to be able to receive them. I thought it was rude and unprofessional to give such short notice with no prior communication that our house was even scheduled.

The crew showed up and completed the work. They did do damage to our property in the process. They damaged our fence when they were taking out a tree stump, there is now a hole about 2-3 feet wide in our chain link fence. They also drove their heavy equipment onto our yard (after days of rain). Once they drove off we noticed a long and deep rut in our side yard where the tire dug into the wet ground. We have not received our bill yet from the company but discounts for the damage or plans to come and repair the damage had better be part of our next round of communications.

This all happened today so the company has not had time to respond, but at the moment I am not impressed with the service we received and would not recommend this company.

Great experience! Setting up a consultation/estimate was easy. They were on time & had very reasonable prices. I had a good size pile of tree branches, saplings, and other yard debris. They chipped it & hauled all away super fast!

We are always pleased with the hard work that they do ! We had a new lawn put in, but before the lawn was the clearing of the trees, stumps & bushes. Very Fast & Efficient Service, they cleaned up our mess and the new lawn is in. We have used Gage Tree Service for the past 20 years and will continue for all our outdoor yard projects.

Gage tree service is awsome this was my 3rd tree cut by them . They were ontime and very speedy concidering it was a 60 foot spruce. Dropped it without touching any of my surrounding landscaping and when they were done and cleaned up you would never know they were there. Thanks for a job well done. Looking forward to you cutting down another one.

Jessie and Justin came and put the finishing touches on my Christmas lights and decorative garland. They graciously gave me a lesson on how to use the timer and were prompt and professional. The house is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I have mixed feelings about Gage. I have used them 2x now to take down trees in my backyard. Both times they dropped a branch on something and broke/damaged it. The first time they dropped a large branch from the birch they were taking down and it split my lilac tree. I was left to deal with the aftermath of fixing it up, and fortunately, it got better.

After that incident I went to their shop a couple times to just buy wood chips. Those experiences aren't bad and they do have a couple of nice guys who have helped me out. If you want to tip them, tip them in cash!

The second time I hired them was this summer to cut a leaning birch down in my backyard. I tried to get everything as clear as possible since it was in a tricky position. And I spoke with the gentleman and his trainee and told them about my concerns about what happened last time. I asked to be very careful to not damage the three ornamental trees below the one they were cutting. I even asked him if I should move anything else before he started. He said no. Anyway, ultimately he dropped a piece of the trunk, it bounced and shattered my landscaping light. I also had to help with taking down the branches because his helper wasn't necessarily being as careful as he should've been around my patio lights. I'm not sure why they didn't call in another guy to help so I didn't have to work on the job I hired them to do. I will at least say that they did discount our bill to cover the damages.

If you have a tree you need cut down and it's not in a difficult spot then I don't see any problems. Otherwise, give yourself enough time to shop around and get quotes from reputable companies.

Finally a service in Alaska that does you right !! If you are not happy with the job that Gage Tree Service does, you simply can not be pleased !! They went way beyond my expectations and they did it fast and very neat and orderly. The way stuff grows around here, you need people and services that understand how to do it right the first time !! THANK YOU !!!

7 trees in three and a half hours!!!!! Wow, what a crew! The guy who climbs the trees and tops them, working all the way back down is incredible. The ground crew work FAST!!! Everything was ground up and they were out of here quickly. I recommend this crew!!!! Eagle River, AK

In the summer they helped clear out the trees that were far overgrown for their location. Good initial meeting and then the job was done ahead of schedule.

In the winter they put lights on the outside of my building - which is really eye catching. When lights need replaced, it is as easy as sending a text to the salesman/manager and it is done in just a few days.

The crew that does the work is courteous and respectful of the businesses in the building and the property. We are very happy with their work - Thank you!

Didn't show up for scheduled appointment. Took time off work to meet for an estimate on removing a large birch from my property, but they never showed up. Got a cop out answer from the office staff that I originally made the appointment with. Unacceptable... moved on to a more reliable tree cutting service.

Gage Tree Service did a great job trimming our trees and brush and then did an execellent job "grinding" three stumps left over from the 2012 Fall storm in Anchorage. This is the second time we have used the firm. They are all friendly and hard workers.

Gage Tree Service was responsible for the clean up for our entire neighborhood. They arrived and completed the job on the first day they were expected. The staff was very friendly and performed outstanding work. During clean up the truck accidentally clipped our mailbox. The employee immediately notified us of the damage, and replaced the mailbox and numbers that same evening. Sometimes it's hard to find professional service these days, but this service was top notch. Highly recommended.
