Christianson Construction for my project because it was too small, however, they were extremely helpful in providing three recommendations of contractors that they vetted and considered great contractors. Absolutely exceptional company. Their quality of work is perfectionist level. An epic story, Chistianson installed our front door in our house for the previous owners 9 years ago. The door warped and would no longer lock. Replacing the front door would be over 10k (fancy door). Christianson honored their work and took care of us. They fixed our out of warranty door!!!! Y'all seriously, home repairs and renovation are emotional and difficult. Christianson is balm for the soul. They'll take care of you. And now I can lock my front door! Yipeee!

After 2 years of working on the many projects our fixer-upper house has on offer, we called Christianson to discuss remodeling both our bathrooms. Ben and Carl really listened. They took time and gave feedback that was helpful and appropriate to our situation. They really helped bring some clarity to how we are going to tackle the remaining big ticket jobs we have left to do on our home (not just the bathrooms), while keeping it within our budget. Although we decided to do much less with the bathrooms, and so ultimately didn't hire them, under different circumstances, we would've hired them on the spot. It is clear that the work they do is first rate.

Did a great job overseeing a heat pump install with some more in-depth framing work. The heat pump works great and the ceiling where it went in looks great. Also got our insulation updated. Accounts payable have also been very helpful in getting necessary documentation for federal and state incentives for heat pump and insulation work.

This was our second time working with G. Christianson. A couple of years ago, they transformed our kitchen, and that positive experience brought us back when we decided to remodel our primary bathroom. Throughout the project, both the G. G. Christianson Construction recently completed a remodel of our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We could not be more pleased with the result. From the first consultation to the final walk through, we were consistently impressed by the quality of communication, the craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Starting with the design, Anna listened to us until she understood what we were looking for. Her knowledge of design as well as extensive product knowledge led us to the perfect plan for us. While construction can be messy, we were exceedingly impressed with the cleanliness of the job site at the end of each day. G Christianson did a den cabinet project for us, and our experience with them and the results couldn’t have been better!

We are very pleased with the results of our remodel done by G. Christianson Construction. We had downsized to an older 1960's house, single floor house, close to services. We found that house but it was showing its age and the effects of being flipped several times. Poor quality cabinets, cheap flooring, questionable wiring, air leaks, cheap heating/cooling and poorly done remodeling. It looked good on the surface but not under the surface.

We decided that we wanted to update several features in order to gain an energy efficient house that would be appealing in appearance, add solar, gain better closet space in the master bedroom, update a poorly designed laundry/bathroom/pantry space, eliminate the fireplace, switched to a modern head pump and used wood throughout the house to improve overall appearance. We got all of this from G. Christianson Construction as well as quality work.

We removed the fireplace, added an electric fireplace with a beautiful stone and oak cabinetry surrounding it. Adding oak floors really added to the beauty of the space. We created separate laundry, pantry, mudroom spaces. The master bedroom layout was changed to give us a large walk-in closet. The oak flooring was continued through the house nicely tied everything together. To gain energy efficiency, we had the house sealed, removed all gas appliances, added solar panels, an electric water heater and an air purification system.

We couldn't be happier with the design, planning and construction process. While not everything goes perfectly, any problems were handled promptly. We worked closely with a designer and had regular progress meetings with the VP/project manager. Even the owner of the company, Carl was closely involved with the project.

If you want an energy efficient, well designed and well executed remodel or new construction, I would highly recommend G. Christianson Constuction.

Christianson's designer, Anna Clink, has a real eye for creating beautiful spaces for everyday practical use. She is very knowledgeable of all the current trends and processes. She is thorough, quick and responsive.

With our general idea of what we wanted in a remodel, they brought invaluable help with design and planning. They carried out the plan with incredible attention to detail and skill.

After retirement, we made the decision to remain in our home and age in place. We chose G. Christianson because we wanted a builder we could trust. They did a stellar job of remodeling our main floor to include a bedroom, sitting room and ADA compliant bathroom. Their employees and subcontractors showed a high level of professionalism, skill and artistry. Among many others, I especially enjoyed working with designer Elizabeth, whose superb taste and organizational skills resulted in our lovely new rooms. Gavin impressed us with his hard work and masterful carpentry. Whenever we had questions or concerns, Tanner and Joshua responded to us promptly. They kept us informed from start to finish, and along the way were eager to accommodate our needs (for example, installing a large HEPA filter to remove particulates and even moving a large mattress upstairs, and carrying left-over paint and tiles to the garage). Now I know why they have such high ratings!

During a recent inspection of our new home, the inspector raised some concerns regarding the roof trusses. I sent some pictures to 'G. Christianson Construction', and asked for their opinion on whether this was something I should be concerned about. Tanner, the project manager, took the time to answer my email, and explained clearly what he saw from the pictures, and he helped to put our minds at ease. Great job! Thank you Tanner!

We could not be more happy with the work done by Carl, Sarah (designer), and the crew. The level of professionalism was extremely high. They listened to all our concerns and needs and helped create a warm, welcoming, and very comfortable home. I write this review three years later and I could not be more pleased with the work - the visible and the invisible work - that has made this house such a delight to live in. We had extensive under-the-house work done, new floors, new kitchen, new laundry-room, new window, window-deficit repairs, a garage made functional for storing cars and for working-out, and external drainage taken care-of. This is a great company to work with. They have done several projects at our home, one a bathroom remodel & another a repair project after a tree came through our roof. All the workmen and project managers were helpful courteous and ensured that the project stayed on time. All along the way we were informed of progress & consulted to ensure we were in agreement with what was being done. They a did a great cleanup job afterwards. We were so happy with our bathroom remodel project a few years ago, we hired G. Christianson again for our new kitchen remodel. And it was easy to add on additional projects as needed. This past summer G Christianson Construction remodeled the main bathroom and half bathroom in my mid-1960’s house. The remodel included replacing the tub with a low curb shower, installing higher vanities, better lighting, new doors and fixtures, all with aging in place in mind. I am delighted with the results!

I first met with project manager Jon Christopherson and designer Sarah Maisel to discuss the design and remodel process. I met with Jon and Sarah on a regular basis to discuss my vision for the project. I had to choose all the materials, fixtures, colors, etc before getting a bid on the project. I had a few things that I knew I wanted but wasn’t sure about other things. Sarah went with me to look at tile and countertops and gave me suggestions of things such as light fixtures and faucets that would go well with my vision for the bathrooms. Jon presented a detailed bid that included everything that would be done, the materials that the company would provide and anything that I needed to purchase. There were no surprises in the final cost of the project when completed.

Once my project was put on the schedule, Jon gave me online access to the schedule so that I knew what work would be done on certain days and who would be coming in. I met with Jon on a weekly basis during the remodel to discuss the progress of the project and any concerns or questions that I might have. The G Christianson crew was great to work with. They were respectful to me, my home, and my pet. I was impressed by their professionalism and their desire to make sure everything was perfect. Jon responded quickly to emails or texts, making sure that everything went smoothly and timely with the remodel. The cabinet crew did a great job building and installing the cabinets and they look beautiful. Maria did a nice job on the trim, doors, mirrors and bars. Alejandro did excellent work. He has an eye for details and made sure everything was perfect before the project was done. Tom and Kyle from Habelt Custom Tile did a fantastic job on the shower. I love my new shower! And thank you to Shanda Ball at Benson’s Interiors for her help in choosing tile, backsplash and flooring.

We began our dream of a whole-house remodel two years ago, and after researching local companies online, decided to give GCC a call. We had no idea at that time that this first phone call would result in an incredible two-year experience with the GCC family. We met Sarah Maisel (designer) and Tanner Wood (contractor) several weeks later in our home. After multiple meetings discussing our overall vision and GCC's process, we were convinced we had made the right decision. Throughout the project, Sarah did an incredible job of listening to our vision and guided our decisions with her extensive design experience. She created an interactive virtual model of the home we desired, which allowed us to see our choices applied in real time and made the whole process much more efficient and easy (and fun!). Tanner provided an incredible breadth of knowledge from the perspective of the builder/contractor, and we knew from the beginning he would have the best interest of our family at heart throughout the project. We spent one year designing and planning, and one year in construction. Throughout this time Sarah and Tanner were always available to communicate with us: they provided constant updates on the project status, scheduled times for us to review materials in person, visited tile and flooring studios with us, gave us guided tours through the construction site, and provided weekly in-person meetings to go over any concerns or questions. We had heard stories of the stereotypical problems other people had experienced with remodels and contractors - to say Sarah and Tanner are the exception is an understatement. They consistently provided excellent materials, work, communication, and, moreover, they became our friends throughout the process. GCC used only superior quality products throughout our home, made sure all systems and structures throughout were constructed to meet or exceed code standards, and took the initiative to provide superior construction techniques even where it wouldn't show (i.e., crawl space, attic, trusses, etc.). The custom cabinetry and carpentry throughout is top quality and beautiful. The result is exactly the dream home we've always wanted! Sarah, Tanner, and the GCC team created a gorgeous, comfortable space where our family can grow for decades. We cannot recommend them highly enough!! Thank you, GCC!

G. Christianson did a fantastic job on our kitchen remodel! We couldn’t be happier with it! Our superintendent was knowledgeable and responsive to our needs. The carpenters, construction crew, supervisors, and designer were all very professional and motivated to do their best work. We appreciated the large and small details. Josh did research on how our new appliances worked and took the time to set up the ovens and burn off the factory oils. We also appreciated how he presented environmentally friendly options, in addition to long-lasting, quality products. This company is progressive, which is apparent in everyone’s attitudes.

Normally I don't trust recommendations from persons unknown to me. However, I would hope my recommendation is of benefit to someone making a decision as impactful as a major home remodel. While I knew what I wanted due to my family background in art, engineering and architecture, GCC helped me give it a viable shape. Our home was severely damaged when a LARGE Douglas fir tree fell on it. The owner of the company, Carl Christianson, is a structural engineer. Unlike other contractors who would just patch cracks in walls and ceilings, Carl understood that there was structural damage behind each crack, and he was meticulous about insuring everything was repaired correctly and to code.
This family-owned company has an outstanding and well-deserved reputation for doing really beautiful high-quality work. Since so much of our home was damaged and most of the house would be gutted, we decided to rebuild our home to be ADA-compliant, and G. Christianson has a reputation of doing that very well.
Carl has amazing attention to detail, as do his site supervisors. The workers are all clean, professional, and polite, with no foul language, loud music or smoking on the work site. The work site was typically left tidy at the end of most workdays.
The designer, Elizabeth Louby, was amazingly talented. Through the magic of computer software, she transformed our vision into realistic views of how G. Christianson could turn that vision a reality. Her knowlege of ADA construction details and resources was impressive. Not only did she succeed at designing bathrooms, toilets, and a kitchen that are fully ADA-compliant, but they are aesthetically beautiful as well as functional and practical.
The in-house cabinet-making shop enable G. Christianson Construction to build custom cabinets and vanities that are designed and built to fit precisely into your home and be fully ADA-compliant. The quality of the materials used is absolutely wonderful.
Bringing our home into ADA compliance included moving walls, widening doorways, lowering countertops and vanities and changing access to some rooms or areas, but it also included door levers, faucet handles, cabinet and closet handles, light switches, window blinds, windows, and sink and tub stoppers that I could handle with my severely arthritic hands. This included motorized windows in some hard-to-reach areas. I had never heard of 'flying toe kicks' before, but they make it so easy for me or my husband to sit in a chair while washing dishes or preparing food in the kitchen. countertop accessibility! I had also never heard of ADA-compliant appliances, but Elizabeth had - and they make life so much easier! Cooking in my new kitchen is now a dream rather than a nightmare.
The multi-level design of our home was not amenable to the installation of glider stair-lifts. The best solution for access to all levels of our house was the installation of a residential elevator. Again, G. Christianson selected the best residential elevator company that specializes in ADA compliance for multi-level homes. The elevator is functional, safe, and beautiful, and can hold up to five people. Instead of a painful and difficult struggle, we now face a simple task to bring groceries up from the garage, take the garbage outside, or to move between the garage, main floor and upstairs levels of our house.
Removing walls not only made our home more accessible to folks in wheelchairs, it also opened up the living space and made it more connected for hosting friends and family. We now have our dining area, kitchen, family room, laundry, and a full bath with roll-in shower and ADA toilet on a single level.
The upstairs master bath was altered to fit a roll-in, barrier-free shower with a transfer bench, with plenty of room for turning around a chair. Another bath was modified to accommodate an accessible heated soaker tub - not a luxury, but daily tool crucial for controlling arthritic pain.
Through all of this, Carl was professional and kind to us. He and his main accountant, Sabina, kept the 'reconstruction' portion of the bill for our insurance separate from the 'ADA' and 'purely aesthetics' portions.
Thanks to the team at G. Christianson Construction, we have a lovely, comfortable home for 'aging in place' to the end of our days.

Christianson Construction Inc. (GCCI). They created a beautiful entertainment center for our new home. They worked with our original (and very rough!) sketch and tweaked and adjusted it until we found the perfect design. Using that design, the skilled craftsmen at the GCCI cabinet shop created a stunning black walnut entertainment center. To top off our experience with GCCI, an amazing installation crew spent four days in our home as they expertly finished our unit. All three men who made up the installation crew treated our home as if it were their own. Their clean up at the end of every day assured we would not be tripping over blocks of wood or spreading saw dust all over the house..

Lee, who is one of the on site workers was particularly astute, and a great communicator.

Thanks for your presentation at the Green Living Expo about people needing to work toward a hundred-year home. I think noting that houses do last a long time is important. I grew up in New England where homes can be two to three hundred years old. These homes have had many different structural, heating and cooling, cooking and plumbing, lighting and energy system changes. This supports your point that a house is a very long term investment, and like all investments, reinvestment is important to maintain the home’s value, comfort, healthfulness, functionality, and efficiency.
A key value of your presentation was introducing the language of retrofitting and the three stages of increasing effectiveness. As you say, upgrading is a continuous process. I found your presentation very informative and a process that anyone could be proud to be somewhere along the three stage path.

We had a major water leak that caused structural damage. The G Christianson group put the house back together like nothing happened. Professional crew. Excellent communication. Highly recommended. We will use them again but for a planned project:)

We had a leak in our dining room after a wind and rainstorm. After a quick response from Carl and very skilled workmanship from his team, there is no trace of damage. Highly recommended!

We hired G. Christianson Construction to build a large new carpentry shop. Carl and his team provided excellent customer service from start to finish. We live in an historic district and Elizabeth did a great job preparing a design which complements our house. She facilitated a smooth historic preservation permit approval. Building a carpentry shop raises a number of non-standard construction issues. Carl patiently answered our many questions. We really appreciate his deep knowledge of code requirements, preparation of a detailed budget, coordination of staff and subcontractors, and general oversight of the entire project. Ron, who runs the cabinet shop, provided invaluable insights regarding layout, power needs, etc. Carl also managed the integration of a new solar system with our electrical system. His knowledge of energy efficiency practices was very helpful. Ben and the entire G. Christianson Construction crew were reliable, on time, and hardworking. The project, as a whole, went very smoothly. It was a pleasure to work with Carl, Elizabeth, Ben and the rest of the team. The end result is a beautiful and functional shop – a dream come true. We hired G. Christianson Construction to remodel our kitchen and add new windows, insulation, and siding. I agree with my wife Carol that they did an excellent job. We engaged G. Christianson Construction to remodel our kitchen and replace siding and windows. In all tasks, they did an excellent job. The kitchen looks amazing. Tanner Wood was in charge of our project. He was always congenial, responsive and easy to work with. Sarah Maisel was our designer and provided alternate design plans, materials samples, and advice along the way. Ron Fishback and his shop built beautiful custom cabinetry in cherry. Overall there is a sense of integrity and professionalism.

We recently purchased a townhouse that G. Christianson Construction had worked on 3 years prior. That work entailed replacing existing skylights, roofing, insulation, drywall, and interior paint. The quality of their work was exceptional. Their staff were very responsive to recent questions we had regarding the earlier work. They also informed us of their 10 year warranty when it became apparent that the previous owner had not passed this information along. Consider us future customers!

I called to talk about a small bathroom remodel and while the cost was out of my price range, the secretary/receptionist was amazingly helpful in suggesting other contractor options and providing advice as to how the process works. I am beyond grateful for the help and professionalism of this company and its employees.

Our experience with G. Christianson Construction was very positive. We were able to tell them what we wanted, and they brought our vision to life. We had a few hiccups along the way due to supply chain issues but that is how things are these days. Everyone at GCC is extremely responsive, whether contacted by phone, text or email. We are so happy with our bathroom remodels (master and guest) and highly recommend GCC to anyone wanting to work with a company that does exceptional work, and more importantly, listens to the customer.

After a brief visit to discuss the feasibility of building a home on a terraced lot I quickly understood why the price of the property was falling and had no buyers. The engineering and foundation costs would have doubled the cost of construction.
Tanner was kind enough to answer all my questions after I arrived in town and had a chance to see the lay of the land and the challenges involved.

Our 30 year old bathroom was in dire need of a major makeover. We envisioned a spa-like retreat…a place for calm relaxation and recharging. We had a general idea of a direction but needed help with all the details. Designer Anna Clink, with her eye for exquisite detail, supplied the focus and kept me from going overboard. The workmen on the crew were all talented craftsmen who daily showed their enthusiasm for the project through their care and input. This was a true collaboration. The result speaks for itself. You know you are on a good team when the finished product exceeds everyone’s expectations.
This was our second major project with G.Christianson. The first was a multileveled aluminum deck. These are great people to work with.

We asked Christianson to design and build a 16' long by 8' tall entertainment center, a built in bookshelf and a built in desk and credenza in our living room. Designer Elizabeth captured our concept and turned it into a beautiful design plan. Ron at the cabinet shop came up with ideas for materials we would have never thought of. All the guys in the cabinet shop got excited about our project and we could tell we were in the hands of skilled craftsman. Jon kept us informed of the timing of construction throughout the project as we needed electricians, drywallers and painters. They truly customized the space and the overall product exceeded our expectations. We have used G. Christianson for 2 major home remodeling projects since 2015 (bathroom and kitchen). Our most recent project involved transforming a small 1930s galley kitchen to an expansive, open floorpan dining/kitchen combo/living. The major qualities that distinguish G. Christianson are: professionalism. You will work with credentialed, well-trained, and highly ethical and professional employees. From the team members who do demolition to the design team to the billing reps, you will encounter a high-level of professional demeanor. 2. Communication: Team members and team leaders are highly communicative and responsive. There are no surprise visits. The team uses a scheduling software to organize the work and they notify the homeowner in the event of changes. Importantly, team leaders know how frustrating it can seem to the homeowner to have long periods without work (this is just a natural part of contract/sub-contract model). There is clear communication about how your projects will unfold so all parties are clear what the roles and expectations will be. 3. Meticulousness. They will not call the job "done" until you are 100% satisfied. Even small deficiencies or issues will be picked up and quickly fixed. Every member of the team upholds this high standard. They have somehow managed to contract tile installers, plumbers, electricians, painters who share their value of meticulous attention to detail. 4. Reliable and Relatable. These are also fantastic people. They listen to your needs and help you achieve your vision. Their work speaks for itself, but it can be hard to feel good about a remodel if the construction team is hard to work with or unreliable. You will find that G. Christianson is a family-oriented business. They are involved in the community and have a long-standing relationship with businesses and non-profits in the area. The team members who entered our home were respectful (followed masking policy) and fun to work with. 5. Innovative and Imaginative. They will dare to dream your vision along with you. They look for novel ways to solve problems in design and construction (and carpentry!). They have a really well-informed and inspired design philosophy (also use great software to provide visuals of your design). If you have an aesthetic that is meaningful to you or a commitment to low-carbon products or functionality, they will respect your wishes and make it happen. Essentially, they like a challenge and will dare to imagine with you! We cannot recommend this company enough. We recommend them all our neighbors and friends.

The work was to repair an outbuilding damaged by a tree blown over by the wind. The workers showed up at the appointed time. Workmen were friendly, knowledgeable, careful with their work, got input from us when appropriate and explained what they were doing. They did a good job cleaning up the job site. We were pleased with the results.

G. Christianson Construction did a wonderful job on our kitchen and front entry remodel. Project superintendent Tanner was excellent at his job of coordinating the project and was very communicative with us throughout the project. Designer Anna was fantastic in her design work, bringing forward many wonderful ideas and would check in on our project as it progressed. Anna was a treat to work with. Lead carpenter Nate was very skilled at his work, always communicating with us on what to expect, listened to any concerns we had and was very courtesy. The cabinet shop did a stellar job of construction and installation of the cabinets. Cabinet shop manager Ron participated in a number of pre-construction meetings with designer Anna, collaboratively working together to build the kitchen of our dreams. The quality and design of the cabinets exceeded our expectations! Cabinet installers Dennis and Eric where highly skilled and made sure the installation was perfect!

G Christianson did a fantastic job on our kitchen remodel and enclosing an old sunroom. From the design to the last project, they worked with us on through all the unforseen challenges that come with a big project. Carl and the crew were reliable and the work was good quality. Update: We hired G Christianson again for a smaller project - to design and install a new front entryway. They helped us put all the perfect elements together, and though COVID slowed things down a bit (not their fault), we love the results. We get so many compliments from the neighbors.
