Been a long time customer with FBS, you guys have excellent service and such a wonderful atmosphere! Everyone was so friendly and kind. Jerdan Greathouse especially, he helped me pick out the perfect windows I was looking for and the lumber for my other projects were in excellent condition! 10/10 top marks for this guy!

We are so incredibly lucky to have a lumber yard like this in Anacortes. Huge variety of products with the charm of a small town company. The people that work there are so nice and helpful. I couldn’t imagine anything better.

I have been a long time client of Frontier and have never had a bad experience at their yards. I was worried about the atmosphere changing when Mike and Terry retired and were bought out by a very large corporation. The new corporation that bought them out made a wise decision in keeping in place the staff that had run the yards like a well oiled machine for years. There are a few differences from the old days but nothing that would ever prevent me from using them for all of my business needs. Hands down the best lumber yard I have delt with in my 32 year construction career. I highly recommend you stopping in if you have any projects coming up. You will see for yourself that everyone is helpful and knowledgeable, from the management to the sales counter....even to the crew in the yard.

As a freight driver this place unloads super fast, friendly staff. Do not take trucks on Commercial Ave take 22nd to Q Ave. Straight through the gate at 20th & Q. Overnight parking close by.

Bring a ladder if you are buying lumber on the top rack. They had fork lifts but no drivers to be seen. I asked the guy at the front desk to send one out. I waited another 10 minutes and climbed up and got it myself. I'm not a senior but I am close. It's way up there and not super safe but I needed to get back to work. Maybe your experience will be different. Still a handy store since it's the only choice in town. Friendly people inside but remember your ladder.

Some local businesses are awesome, this is definitely one of them! Real people who understand projects and have solutions are hard to come by. Fair prices are also a plus.

I put big commercial supply stores on the bottom of the list compared to this place now. Frontier Building is likely a supporting beam to the community.

They have the best lumber in Skagit County. And if you need an exotic, like I did, they had it for pick-up in 24 hours. Very helpful and friendly staff. Also a good selection of tools and shop/site supplies.

They have much better Lumber than the box stores. Service is the best. Prices are reasonable and you don't have to drive 16 to 20 miles.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
