Ace Hardware of Anacortes

You need to be vigilant checking your receipts. My experience was an item posted for $4.99, they charged me $7.99. I showed them the pic of the price but they would not honor it. I found that crazy they wouldn’t honor the price they’re advertising.

The owner called me and apologized and said they should’ve honored the price and she has corrected how employees will deal with that in the future. She also gave me a $10 gift certificate.

This is an excellent hardware store with a little bit of something for everyone. Amazing garden center, cheery holiday department, BBQ's assembled for you, unusual snacks, gifts and housewares. Best of all is the super helpful and friendly staff. It is walking distance to the Cap Sante marina and downtown. Our go to place!

UPDATE: Just went in to ask for help in sourcing materials and tools to renovate our 115 year old house and Casey was AMAZING, she herself lives in and has renovated a 100+ year old house in Anacortes and she was a wealth of information. For example we need to strip old wall paper off of our 12" shiplap walls and she recommended against using anything metal and to go with some flat tools that are plastic to be sure we preserve the wood. THIS IS WHAT ALL EXPERTS AND YOUTUBERS recommend as well. Her experience was invaluable to our process! So grateful. Also, anytime we interface with Manager Alex, he is so positive and helpful---100% of the time he helps us and gets great answers for us. WE LOVE OUR ACE PARTNERSHIP because that is what it feels like. FIVE Stars!

Made a key here and browsed the store. Essentials for home improvement, garden, even kitchen wares, fishing and many coolers. Clean store, friendly staff

Great hardware store and friendly staff, however the green haired girl in licensing, LOVES me. I’m convinced I’m her favorite person EVER! Pro tip….have your licensing dates figured out BEFORE you try to buy one or you’ll be her next favorite person…EVER!

To return in kind the hospitality extended to me, anger management courses don’t require a court order. You really can just go and participate individually. (Maybe post that in the break room).

Poorly laid out store. Too much crammed into a tiny location The staff is terrible. Let the customer shop and ask for help. 4 separate times I was asked if I wanted help. They were physically following me around the store. Never going back again and with my pull on here hopefully the million followers don't either.

There were more helpful, knowledgable employees than I have seen in years. True commitment to customer service. If only I lived a little closer.

I know the locals have an amazing Hardware store (SEBO's) that offer some pretty awesome services that aren't available at ACE.
However, you just can't beat Ace Hardware's price's or the hospitality of their customer service.
Now mind you, maybe it's because I'm not a local born therefore I don't have that local vibe that one would normally get from their local stores. Or maybe it's just me. Either way, Ace has always been my place for personal and business necessities.

I give this place 5 stars because of the Ace Plant Patio where all the house plants are. The cashier working in there was pleasant and greeted us right away. The plants are the healthiest houseplants I've seen yet out of the Garden centers up here. We'll taken care of. I didn't find any dust on leaves. They were shiny and beautiful. No disease spotted! Absolutely beautiful! I loved the music and vibes in the garden center. Plants were healthy. But we weren't ever greeted on the yard or asked if we needed any help. All in all it's a very cute place and they are building something unique and special. I can see them needing to expand soon!

Great service, I was looking for a sprinkler system part that was hard to find. The gentleman who helped me was very thorough and persistent in helping me come to a solution. Good on you Ace!

This store had The most fascinating garden center!
I had a lovely time looking around with my grandchildren...prices were average to slightly higher, but the selection was amazing!

It's the people who make the place! Helpful, friendly staff both in the store and out in the garden supply. Great selection of healthy-looking outdoor plants.

They have so much in such a small store. Any work around the house, you can find the tool or part here.

Ace is the go-to store on the island for many reasons but for me what stands out to me about Ace, over that of even Lowes or HomeDepot, is the knowledge and willingness to help of the employees there. The Anacortes Ace is a special store. Over the last 8 years they have been a HUGE help to me and my husband for small to large projects around the house. But the other day I was helping my dad work on the boat and we needed some bizarre piping when this super friendly gal named Maree helped us and I mean holy cow. Her knowledge blew me away! Then we returned (same day) as the project progressed and Nate helped us. He also was a wealth of knowledge and so friendly and non judgemental with our questions and went the extra mile several times. Then Jakob I think his name was in the christmas area-- so friendly and helpful. I'm just at a point where I want to visit Ace for the awesome people that work there almost more than for the desire to fix things! The team at Ace is incredible. They seem like happy employees. That is hard to find these days anywhere you go! And they are all so incredibly knowledgeable-- it impresses me every time I visit the store. I wish I could name every employee when I say YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! Thank you.

PS If they don't have what you need they can order it for you. You just gotta talk to the many helpful people there!

Ace Hardware of Anacortes is very good and I recommend it. The employees were very helpful and attentive and my visit was a complete success with one trip. This store represents the best in the long tradition of my dealing with Ace Hardware across the country.

This ACE has the best customer service and I will go out of my way (from Bow) to shop here.

Strange little parking lot. Make sure you go in the right way. We had a guy trying to come out the wrong way I was creating more of a havoc than it was needed if he would have just went the right way. So pay attention when you go in. Parking lot is strange. Storing employees are helpful

I was there today and found the softest pale pink hydrangea that I've ever seen!! It was so beautiful I had to buy it for my 95 yr. young Auntie!! Absolutely her favorite color!!
The whole staff there is so knowledgeable about everything they carry!! They all are long time employees so they really know their stuff!! Also you can find them again the next time you want to shop and have ? 's !! ☮️

Wow this was a rough one. Spent over an hour here waiting for a fishing license (they only take cash and check too). Was overcharged for my license and when I went back to correct it instead of reissuing my license for the correct amount the person was rude to me and then took my license and told me to call the state if I wanted it corrected. Gave me a scathing “your welcome” on my way out even though she knew I wouldn’t be able to fish or crab without a license.

I went down the street to West Marine, got a license in 5 minutes from a friendly person who immediately saw the issue with my account and was on my way.

Despite being a simple hardware store in a relatively small city, Ace Hardware goes above and beyond. On several occasions I have shopped in the garden department and have been amazed by the efficient organization and, dare I say, artistry of some of the plant presentations. Truly, whoever is responsible for the department is currently running one of the unknown gems of Anacortes, "The Ace Botanical Gardens", I call it. Aside from the sweet plants, the staff is always friendly and helpful, the selection of items is very solid, and the prices are fair. As far as hardware stores go, this has got to be one of the best.

The employee there help me find some hex screws for an older door handle that I couldn't find around Burien-Sea-tac area. Best store to go for all your needs. Thx
