We worked with FRC on an extensive renovation of our 1928 home (including interior expansion, added bathroom, new EVERYTHING, as well as a fully new exterior roof/siding/windows/etc). Because our home had several previous renovations over the last 45 years before we purchased it in 2017 (some done better than others...) it was a very complex task to ensure all updates were seamless with the existing structure and were customized to suit the current build. This is our first owned home, so we were a little nervous/anxious to undertake such a large and expensive project, but FR helped us all along the way to understand each step of the process and the order of events to complete the project at a high level of quality.

Forest Ridge did such diligent and high quality planning work that allowed this project to go smoothly, with great results that unified this almost 100 year old house with all the previous renovations that came before! Our home layout is now very balanced, sensibly laid-out, and better sized/suited for our family and future. Some other aspects of working with FR:

Communication: FR and Tom were always very good about communicating each step of the process and were very responsive to our feedback throughout the process. Of course, like in any large-scale renovation, there were delays/shifts in the work, but we were always kept in the loop on next steps and changes of plan so we could adapt quickly.

Quality Work/Trades: Something we really appreciated was the attention to overall quality in the build. We were always helped to understand each process and the tradespeople used on the project were all very highly vetted, friendly, and took a lot of pride in their work. If/when there were small areas that were not done to the quality desired, FR would ensure the work was corrected in a timely fashion and/or would schedule trades back in to complete it satisfactorily. We/our young child lived in the home for the second half of the renovation period, so we greatly appreciated that all the tradespeople we saw/interacted with during our day-to-day were respectful, flexible, and courteous while they worked.

Value: Though the cost of any large-scale home project can be daunting, FR was very collaborative/responsive to ongoing budget and quality needs for the project. Our goal was to renovate with VALUE top of mind (e.g. best product for price within our design aesthetic, not necessarily the cheapest) and they helped us stay in range for all of our finishes and gave great guidance on how to prioritize budget towards the things that mattered most for each part of the project.

Overall, we have greatly enjoyed living in our newly renovated home and receive lots of compliments on the work done! In the period following the conclusion of primary work, FR has been responsive to requests to finalize some finishing touches and/or revisit a few areas to correct. Generally, with any project this big/complex, the best thing you can hope for is for your builder to be communicative and adaptive to the ongoing needs of the project and us, the client. FR has done and continues to do just that and we would definitely be interested in working with them on future projects and recommending them to others.

Super happy with Forest Ridge Construction. I have built numerous homes and this experience by far was the absolute best hand down.
I will only use them in the future.
