Gus and his team were excellent. They renovated our basement and showed up every day on time and completed the project in less time than predicted. We could not be more happy with the quality of their work, which was priced very reasonably. Gus has great taste and provides helpful options when picking out light fixtures, finishes, paint colors, etc. He asked us in advance for ideas of our style and all of his suggestions were spot on - we could not be more grateful to have a beautiful, functional space to host guests and relax and recommend them to all our neighbors! We will be calling Flood Masters for future work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Gus and his crew have helped us with several remodeling projects, including a stone terrace deck and a kitchen remodel, as well as some repair work throughout our home. They are incredibly responsive and perform high quality work, and the end result is simply breathtaking. It gives us great peace of mind to know that any concerns or issues, large or small, can be addressed by this team. Highly recommend!

My experience with this company was awful. They overcharged me, failed to complete the job in a novice manner, and never responded to any of my calls. My wife and I have expressed our concerns to our community. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
***RATHER THAN CORRECTING THE ISSUE Subject: Complaint Regarding Poor Service from an Employee by the name A or AS or Aksh who was absolutely under influenced, rude, speaking in vague manners when asked questions, and I was in unbelief that this is happening since this person was ignoring my calls.
Finally I got someone to respond me here that I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received from your company and especially the employee by the name of Aaksh or something like that!

I generally unappealing presentation.

Moreover, Mr. A’s attitude during my interaction with him was unprofessional and indifferent. It was clear that he did not take the time to understand my preferences, resulting in a product that did not meet my expectations.

I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution.

The Floodmasters should be called The Superheroes for their quick, thorough, and thoughtful responses to any water emergency! They make what is a devastating event less stressful, and help get your home back to its original state quickly and painlessly!

We’ve also used them for projects around the house, such as an amazing office space with custom cabinets- again, they knocked it out of the park. They make a project easy, transparent, and with on time delivery. Go with Gus and the Floodmasters for any restoration or renovation project!

Gus and his team do excellent work. Quickly remedied the water problem and made sure the damage was controlled. Then the repairs (ceiling, walls, kitchen flooring, etc) were repaired fast and perfectly. They've now done 2 water damage projects and 2 other renovations and he usually adds ideas to a project that are better than my own! Highly recommend this team

My husband and I had Flood masters in to do a main floor renovation. I cannot say enough about what a great job they did. The team was so professional and kept our home clean while working on it. They were very respectful to us and our home because we were still living here. The quality of work that was done was above and beyond anything that I have seen from other renovations people have had done. We just had them back to do our front portico. I highly recommend this company.

Our basement sustained a huge flood due to storm water coming in thru the sump pumps. We had around 4’ of water and it looked like a swamp. Gus and his team came out in the middle of the night and started working immediately. We ended up having to demo the entire basement because there was so much water. I highly recommend Gustavo. He is a lifesaver for anybody in need of his services.

Floodmasters installed a complete kitchen — cabinet, appliances, flooring and lighting — for me. They did a meticulous job and the work was of very high quality. They navigated a number of unique challenges such as getting a large fridge into my narrow row home with no direct street access. We lived at home during the renovation and they contained dust from the rest of the house — something that was a very high priority for me. The team was very pleasant and the boss/owner, Gustavo, communicated well. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them in the future or recommend them.

Gus and team did a fantastic job from
start to finish: from great communication and quick responses at any random hour to accommodate our work schedules, to exchanging ideas on design and materials to accomplish our desired look and feel, to cleanliness for a massive reno happening at home while we lived there, and just a pleasant and respectful team to be around. We are thrilled with the outcome; best transformational reno we’ve ever seen! Thanks Gus and team!

Gus and the entire team at floodmasters are amazing. They’ve helped us re-do flooring, done our roof, totally made over our master bathroom, helped resolved water intrusion on three of our past homes. His team has redone a kitchen in our rental condo and completed a complex expansion of our current kitchen to include removing walls and installing exterior siding and windows. I trust this team implicitly for all our projects. Gus is honest with pricing and ideas and the work is quality. Highly recommend!

The Flood Masters are amazing and have been there for me consistently doing an amazing job on large and small jobs. They show up same or next day to assess the situation and stop the bleeding as they plan to repairs.
1) Moving into my townhouse I discovered that contractors had turned the water to the house back on and not closed off a faucet and my entire basement was wet as I was trying to move into the house and needed to get it dry quickly.
2) During inspection of buying my house the inspector noted we may want to upgrade the roof so we did proactively with another vendor and found ourselves with a kitchen ceiling caving in during a snow storm. The Flood Masters showed up in the snow storm prevent the entire thing from caving until it could be properly repaired by them. They did it all from the roof to the interior repairs. They often find prior poor quality work in the process and repair that as well.
3) Due to poor contractor work on a renovation there was a small leak in the bathroom on the 4th floor ruining the vanity and leaking down. The Flood Masters repaired the vanity and floors and ceiling below.
4) The massive leak we had (see below Yelp review for details)

I now use them for renovations that are not flood related. I call have done 10+ jobs with and never had. abad experience. They higher quality talent and good leadership inspecting work and holding crews accountable.

Below is part of my Yelp review.
The Flood Masters is reliable, detail oriented, and honest.

We were moving and planned to rent our renovated townhouse in Arlington. Tenant lined up to move in and 15 days unoccupied. The movers uninstalled an Ikea wall unit and high-pressure water started gushing out of the wall breaking through the drywall and flooding the carpets on the 4th floor and going down the entire house. We shut off main water, but the water continued coming at intense pressure. We called Flood Masters and they had someone onsite within 15 mins. The Ikea installed wall unit was anchored into an emergency water pipe (sprinkler system) so they located and shut off the emergency water and used a garden hose to redirect water to a bathtub. They were able to act quickly to mitigate the damage opening up walls. We had to replace most of the drywall on ceilings and walls in the entire townhouse. All floors (new hardwoods and carpets) were ripped up to be replaced as well due to warping and potential mold.

It took 2 weeks working with insurance on the next steps and finding someone to do residential emergency water repair. Flood Masters worked with our insurance to negotiate repair cost and agreed to complete the entire job in 2 weeks allowing one day for cleaners before the tenant moved in.

My laundry sink had a slow leak and I never noticed. One day I went into the guest room and saw the wood floor was all buckled and I didn’t know what was going on. The Flood Masters were recommended to me by a friend, and quickly came to inspect my problem. Gus was literally a life saver!! He found a bunch of water damage in the wood flooring, walls, trim, and cabinets. He worked directly with my insurance company, and I didn’t have to lift a finger. They got the place dried up quickly, and had my basement renovated and looking better than new! Everything was done professionally, and efficiently. I have hired them to do additional remodeling work in my home, because I know the work always exceeds my expectations. And that’s difficult to do! I recommend The Flood Masters to all of my neighbors, friends and family, and they always rave about Gus and his team.

We manage serval properties in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland and we experienced a multiple sewage backups that caused a substantial amount of damage to 15 apartment units. We called Flood Masters to come in, clean up, and take care of the significant issues. They immediately took action by sending their large team to start the process, they worked directly with our insurance company and helped every step of the way. They even did all of the repairs (drywall, flooring, carpentry, cabinetry, painting). Their prompt action and thorough work in restoring 15 units helped us get the units back in habitable condition very quickly. Highly recommended for their professional services for any sized loss and working with Gus was great. He helped us understand what caused the issue and what needed to be done to get it fixed as soon as possible.

We have lived in our house for 35 years and had done minimal renovations. We finally decided it was time and used The Flood Masters. They did an excellent job. Gustavo, the owner, listens to your ideas, needs and wants and will make reasonable recommendations. He was very in tune with our ideas and offered some of his own suggestions as to what would work/look best, which we usually took. Our decisions/selections went through 5 people before getting to Gustavo and if he didn't think something would look good/work he said so. There weren't many things he didn't agree with or like but when he spoke up we listened and went back to the drawing board. When seeing the finished product, we were always glad we listened to his recommendation and opinion and had changed our minds! His crew are all extremely nice and we felt comfortable leaving them to work if we weren't home. They were very respectful of our house. The first phase of the renovations lasted 2.5 months and on the last day it was sad to see the crew go, they had become like part of the family! We remodeled the entire house and absolutely love it! In only one instance of the entire project (we had a phase I and II) was there a miscommunication of what was desired and when we realized this Gustavo immediately fixed it without a problem. Some parts he out sourced, like refinishing the wood floors and custom making a glass door for the odd size shower. All of the people he out sourced to love working with him. One guy said he liked working with Gustavo because if there was something the homeowner changed their mind about upon seeing the finished product, Gustavo would make the necessary changes. He said most contractors would not "redo" something once finished, even if the homeowner did not like it! Overall, the remodeling was a pleasant and exciting experience. I would definitely recommend Gustavo and his crew for your remodel!

Fellow Disaster Sufferer: Please stop, take a deep breath – and read this! If you are under considerable stress and searching for the best company to repair unexpected and anxiety-provoking water damage, a broken pipe, or other flooding issue in your home or business, go no further. Flood Masters is hands down the BEST company you can turn to.

As the owner of three (3) homes and one rental property, I have for long decades dealt with every conceivable home service outfit you can imagine: heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC), painters, handymen, electricians, roofing repair, boiler installation & repair, window & door repair, damaged screens, chimney sweeps, winterization companies, vermin & pest control companies… The list goes on…

I can tell you to a certainty that Flood Masters is far and away the single best company I have ever turned to.

Recent frigid temperatures that plunged down to the single-digits caused a pipe in our attic to freeze and burst in our northern Virginia home. The damage was horrific and terrifying: water gushing down from ceilings and running down through three stories of our house (upstairs hallways and bedroom, kitchen, and basement). The damage was a terrible shock to us: soaked drywall, sagging ceilings, sopping wet insulation, saturated floor & crown molding, wet lighting fixtures and so much more.

When an unexpected home disaster strikes, we are often so confused, depressed, desperate and pressured that we grab one of the first few companies a quick Google search yields. That is throwing darts at balloons.

Do not make this mistake!

After an exhausting amount of research looking for the BEST company to rescue us – including consulting with a close friend who owns one of the largest property inspection companies in northern Virginia – my wife and I chose Flood Masters.

Best decision we ever made in our life.

The owner himself quickly replied to our anguished S.O.S., came out right away to assess the damage, calmed and assured us we would be okay, and quickly set up a schedule to restore our home in a surprisingly brief period of time. The dry-out process was a snap: wet drywall and insulation removed and carried away. To our surprise, the workers told us that all of the ceiling and floor molding, which they had removed, was fine, usable, and would not an additional expense. Flood Masters brought in a total of fifteen (15) heaters, air circulators and dehumidifiers to dry out the house. I was immediately struck with what great condition this equipment was in, all of the machines were obviously well-maintained.

The rebuild process was incredible. The workers did a breathtaking and exquisite job of putting up new drywall, patching, priming, painting and sealing seams all restored walls, ceilings, molding and seams. The crew was professional, hard-working, cheerful and obviously enjoyed & cared about their work. They took pains to protect all of the floors, furniture and items in our house, putting down drop cloths on all floors, and sealing off all furniture, countertops and other areas with plastic sheeting. When the job was complete, they swept and vacuumed the house thoroughly and left the premises in immaculate condition – and I mean immaculate! Bonus: The walls they painted with a brand new coat of primer & paint looked infinitely better and cleaner than our old walls before the disaster struck!

Flood Masters is a priceless resource. Do yourself a favor and call them now! You won’t find a better company to restore your home to its original condition. Their work is spectacular and best of all, their fees are very reasonable.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
