Highly recommend FIX! They responded incredibly fast to our roof leak and were extremely knowledgeable. Every step of the process was clearly explained, and we always felt informed and confident in their work. They also took meticulous care to protect our floors and walls, which we really appreciated. Professional, efficient, and truly excellent service from start to finish.
Tried to take me for a ride by giving me a crazy quote. As soon as I told them I was going to shop for more quotes they cut the price in half, so they immediately lost my trust. They initially did just a few hours worth of demo (very minimal) and charged me a ton for that too.
Was able to find several others well below their price point, make sure to shop around!
The team has been super friendly and generally seemed competent and professional. That said, we’re still in the middle of repairs and have some concerns. I usually don’t leave reviews before a project is done, but this process has dragged on long enough that I think it’s worth sharing. I’ll update this once the kitchen is complete.
Our dishwasher leaked and caused water damage. When we reached out, we mentioned we were filing an insurance claim and asked for a quote. They were eager to start mitigation, which we appreciated. But when we also asked for pricing on restoration, they were hesitant to provide numbers. I understand restoration work involves unknowns. Still, once our claim was denied, they quickly gave us a quote so we could pay for mitigation and place a deposit. That shift felt a little suspicious, like they waited to see who would be paying before offering numbers.
Mitigation involved removing drywall and insulation and setting up fans. During this, chunks of insulation were blown through the kitchen, and dust settled on every surface. Thankfully, the kitchen was sealed off with plastic, so the mess didn’t spread to the rest of the house. Maybe some mess was unavoidable, but it seemed like removing more insulation could have reduced it. The cleanup took hours over the next couple of weeks. The kitchen probably needed a deep clean anyway, but we didn’t expect to do it in the middle of a stressful stretch without a working kitchen.
We were told reconstruction would be scheduled two to three weeks after insurance approval or deposit. We paid the deposit. A week passed with no updates. When we followed up, we learned we hadn’t been scheduled yet and materials still needed to be ordered. That miscommunication alone added an extra week and a half without a kitchen.
From there, delays and communication issues piled up. One week, we were told drywall would be installed over the next three or four days and that it would be messy. We taped shut all drawers and cabinets to avoid another full cleanup. The crew came once, then didn’t return. We weren’t told if we should leave the kitchen taped or not. It ended up being two or three weeks before they came back.
Later, we found out cabinets weren’t ordered until over five weeks after our deposit, even though measurements were already on file. We were eventually told the delay was due to tariffs, but that came only after the delay had occurred. When updates come days or weeks after something is missed, it’s hard to know whether the reasons are genuine or just post-fact justification. The cabinets also had a three to four week build time, not including installation.
We haven’t tried to be difficult clients. We understand delays happen, supplies take time, and contractors aren't customer service pros. But the lack of communication made the process far more frustrating. Expectations weren’t managed, and when we did get explanations, they often came after delays had already happened.
Chris was great during mitigation—responsive and easy to work with—but communication dropped off during reconstruction. Whether the team was overbooked, juggling too many projects, or running into subcontractor issues, we don’t know, because no one told us.
On the positive side, the team truly has been friendly and helpful. They gave us solid documentation and support during our (ultimately denied) insurance claim. They were careful with our flooring and countertops so those materials could be reused. They even tracked down matching flooring from over seven years ago, likely saving us thousands and helping us avoid replacing the entire floor.
We were told the rebuild would take six to eight weeks after payment. We’re now in week eleven, with no clear end in sight and minimal communication. We’ve been without a kitchen for nearly four months.
For now, this is a one-star review. I’ll revise it once the work is done. If the final result is solid, I’ll add stars. But right now, we’re frustrated by the timeline and the lack of clear communication.
